On September 11, 2001 Osama Bin Laden did successfully accomplished his mission on attacking the United States and killing thousands. The major mistake Osama Bin Laden made that day was not only attacking the most powerful country in the world, but his major mistake was to continue to keep breathing to continue to live on this earth because now his clock was ticking, ticking down his last worthless days on earth. A man that thought he could actually get away with murdering thousands of people. A man that on May 2, 2011 clock would stop ticking, a man that would be killed by United States Navy Seals, and the decision to give the go ahead to kill Osama Bin Laden that decision came from none other than the most powerful man in the world the president of the United States of America Barak Obama.

The news comes in as a good look for the US and that accomplishment somewhat ensured the re-election of Obama in 2012. A western diplomat described the news as a "game changer"- not just for al-Qaida, but also for US foreign policy in Pakistan and Afghanistan, a region embroiled in turmoil and violence in 2001.Some fear that Bin Ladens death could spark a precipitous US withdrawal from the region with the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan still unresolved("Osama Bin Laden is Dead").

On September 11, 2001, a series of terrorist attacks were directed for the United States by means of four hijacked planes. Two of which hit the twin towers of the World Trade Center, one hit the Pentagon, the headquarters of the Department of Defense, and the fourth crashed in a field near Pittsburg after it was meant to hit the White House. The terror spread in the United States and brought concern and fear to the citizens. The impact of these terrorist attacks caused serious and detrimental damages within the country, and their result on the people were enormous; insecurity, helplessness, and susceptibility spread. Especially after the release of a videotape in which Osama Bin Laden, head of Al-Qaeda, admitted that he was responsible for the terrorist attacks. Hence, President George W, Bush declared the “war on terror” against all terrorists in the Arab world, specifically Afghanistan and Iraq.
