Art is all around us, it’s everywhere you go: cartoons, buildings, photography, even the architecture of streets and sidewalks. There are many forms of art, and it doesn't have to be just drawing or painting, it can also be singing, acting, poetry, fashion, etc. All of these talents are an embodiment of expression, it allows individuals to explore their creativity and enhances their learning abilities. Without art everything would be black and white, there would be no substance. In today’s age, not many people notice or appreciate any type of artwork. As an artist and an actress, creativity has always been my strong suit. When I’m on stage or drawing it’s like I’m telling a story. People take art for granted, it’s very disappointing how …show more content…
Individuals who experience trauma or loss had an impact on their artistic thinking, for example, Frida Kahlo. John Lennon. Paul McCartney. Truman Capote. Robin Williams. Jerry Garcia, some of the most revered creative minds in modern history have experienced major trauma. Psychologists call this phenomenon “post-traumatic growth.” When an individual experiences a major loss, the brain explores its own creative escape as part of “rebuilding” themselves, especially as our perspectives, priorities, and ways of thinking shift around. Post-traumatic growth has been explored in hundreds of scientific studies, including a 2004 study in the Journal of Traumatic Stress showing that 70% of survivors experienced some kind of positive psychological change after a traumatic experience.
Art is extremely helpful with teen development. Since teenagers minds and emotions are so complex it is hard for them to express it directly to others. Adolescents go through times where they don’t feel accepted. Art is the ultimate form of expression which is why some teens who have a creative mind are able to revert to their talent, it could be through music, clothing, photography, painting, etc. Art can be therapeutic to those who are capable of tapping into their creative side, it could be the solution to their problem if they are able to understand the purpose of art. Theresa Magana Ms. Nauls-Jones AP English 3 26 November 2015 A Rhetorical Analysis of Jonathan Edwards’s Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, Widely regarded as “One of America’s most important and original philosophical theologians”, Jonathan Edwards, in his sermon, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, provides a glimpse into the theology of the great awakening. Edwards’s purpose is to awaken audiences to the horrific reality that he believed awaited them should they continue life without devotion to Christ. He adopts an ominous tone with a sense of urgency in order to spread fear in the minds of puritans so that they may repent for their sins and turn to God before it is too late for them. Edwards opens his sermon to the puritans by stating, “So that thus it is that natural men are held in the hand of God; over the pit of hell; they have deserved the fiery pit and are already sentenced to it.”
Art was a way for students to express their inner thoughts and views creatively. For senior Lauren Mabe art was a way to express herself in various ways. Students’ artwork was inspiring to many and held significant meaning. “Art is a form of personal expression. It teaches everyone how to observe life in every detail. It teaches people how to develop concepts and think more deeply about a topic. As an artist, art creates a form of pride- there is nothing better than stepping back from something you have created and saying ‘Wow, I actually did that!’ The only thing better than that feeling is when someone pays you for it,” said Ms. Wilson.
While art is only a hobby to some, it can be a source of happiness and closure to others. Art, literature, and music have helped numerous people through challenging times, being an outlet in which one can let their emotions out. This being said, struggles such as addiction and depression can have an affect on an artists work. Many artists would not have the same quality of work they have today if they did not channel their emotions through art as a outlet. Sharing experiences through art is one of the most timeless ways to tell a story, dating way back to some of the first pieces literature and music created. Art is one of the biggest outlets in which one can let their emotions out in a healthy and effective way, sharing one’s story, getting their feelings figured out, while impacting the quality of work that is created.
Just how important is sound to a film, is it more or less important than the actual visuals going on in a scene, or does its importance vary from scene to scene? Could sound make a scene great, but completely ruin another scene with the same kind of style? How does sound make us feel, or think differently as opposed to not having it. Just how powerful is the absence of sound even, the absence of a key element that is used in almost every movie being taken away abruptly can make viewers feel uneasy and impact them more than the most complex score of music, or the best dialogue. Just what makes sound so powerful?
Art isn’t just a picture, it isn't just another painting. It’s hope. It’s sorrow. It’s love. It’s entertainment. It’s expression, and a story. Art can do more than just flash us a pretty smile. Art is like a mother's embrace. It can help us heal from tragic times, it can make us laugh again, it can bring out that smile that shines the brightest. It Helps us see things from other perspectives and grow as humans.
A lot of people think that art can only go as far as a class in school, but in reality there is art around everyone. Art can be a way of life for some people, and for others it is simply just something they pass every single day. What they do not realize is that art can have benefits in different aspects in their life, in children's lives, and even the world around them.
thing about being an artist is re-exploring art mediums that most of us seem to leave behind when we "grow up." The emotions,
Today's current society is very linear. In it's core it is tied to rules and regulations that dictate the way things are to behave. There is no better way to break from this box than through art, because truly art is the only escape from the utterly mundane. It is the tool people use to turn what is ordinary, into what is extraordinary. Take the worldwide best selling novel series Harry Potter. Hundreds of Thousands of people have at any point in their lives, picked up Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, and were transported to an amazing world where Wizards and Trolls and Goblins all lived. It is an amazing piece of literature that allows people some release from their otherwise average lives. They could sit down, and not worry about their
In art therapy, the art product is observed as the artist’s personal projection of feelings, concerns, and thought processes. Art-making can be an effective method to promote growth and maturation for adolescents, who can make use of the metaphor and symbol to communicate emotions and developmental issues they are facing (Miller, 2012). Art therapy is a fine therapeutic tool that enhances the communication of adolescents, who often feel more
A creative channel is produced through art therapy for children who are struggling with certain situations in their lives. Some children who qualify for the use of art therapy are children who are going through a family death, have been sexually abused, physically abused, suffer from depression, or are diagnosed with schizophrenia. An organization known as Art Therapy for Children makes a point that “children of all ages, nationalities, races and cultures can benefit from art therapy” and goes on to explain, “programs are developed around a child’s strengths and abilities, so the kid can use the medium even if he or she has never picked up a crayon before” (How Art Therapy Can Help
Molly, Jake and Ashley slowly walked around the Amazon rainforest, examining the wildlife. They were on a reasearch trip for their college biology class, and their group’s assignment was to take notes on the flora and fauna so they could write papers when they got back to the campus. As they walked, they pointed things out to each other, and Molly wrote all of their observations down into her notebook. They were so intent on their research that none of them noticed the class start moving in the opposite direction. Finally, when the sun started to set, Ashley spoke up.
With the utilization of visual and performing arts, students can begin to enhance their personal growth. By producing original works, enjoying the time spent on the piece of art, and having a sense of pride in one’s accomplishments, an art student will experience an increase in self-esteem and confidence (Importance). A child who receives praise for their art work from parents and teachers will most likely be more positive in their artistic abilities. For example, when a child brings a painting home to his parents and his parents react with smiles, cheers and display the picture on the refrigerator, the student will in turn feel very proud of his accomplishments. This newly found self-esteem and confidence often expands into other subjects at school to the overall benefit of the individual. Participating in art is also a way for students to
While art has long been used as an instrument for self-expression and communication, the use of art as a therapeutic
Art provides numberless benefits to the society. I feel that art is a powerful form of emotion that can be seen visually, physically, and emotionally. Art can be felt through a book, a movie, a dance and even a meal. Art can only be created by an emotion, People express their emotions every day through the clothes that they wear and the hairstyle they designate. You can tell a huge deal about what a person is functioning through just by what they eat and the kind of the music they listen to. I strongly believe that art has benefits to the society, considering there is plenty of people that are afraid to express how they feel verbally and each form of art can be their option. Creating artwork can turn numberless negative situations into positive considering it allows people to have freedom of what they succeed and how they require to succeed it. There are no right and wrong when it comes to art. There are no limit or pressure and you can create art wherever you desire. There is no risk or consequences to making art and you can be yourself one hundred percent. The ultimate important concept about art is only the person can create it and it can't be taken away from you considering you are the creator. Art provides numberless benefits to the society. I feel that art is a powerful form of emotion that can be seen visually, physically, and emotionally. Art can be felt through a book, a movie, a dance and even a meal. Art can only be created by an emotion, People express their
