It is difficult to imagine a life without a means of communication. There is no doubt communication plays a big role in one’s everyday life. As a matter of fact, everyone does it everyday. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s “Hush” episode it “talks” a lot about communicating with others. The episode uses an extended metaphor which displays a great lesson. The extended metaphor in “Hush” shows a society cannot survive if communication does not exist, revealing the importance of communicating with people in our lives before chaos happens. Without communication, everything would be hectic. For example, when the “Gentlemen” take away everyone’s voice, people started panicking and getting angry with one another and caused chaos. People choose to take chaos in the streets instead of finding a solution and helping others. A great example of how people are taking out their emotions, such as fear, in the streets, causing damage not only for themselves but for others too, is in the following quote. “A car is up on the sidewalk after crashing into the fire hydrant. A fountain of water shoots up next to it.” Some people choose to take chaos in the streets instead of finding a solution. However, there are some individuals who choose to stay away from violence, but still can not find explanation that pleases others. “On the sidewalk, someone has started a trash can fire, and Riley is framed in front of it.
