Guns are one of the many reasons there are multiple violent crimes occurred in the United States. While a great many people see guns as causes of terror, there are others who would prefer them as ways of protecting themselves from various types of potential threat. To this day, the United States is being divided when it comes to gun ownership across the country. The argument always emerges as the number one topic to be discussed whenever catastrophic events had occurred in the United States to the point even the people of other nations can do nothing but only speak out their views on gun control laws. Some heavy security improvements must be taken into action as soon as possible to avoid such chaotic incidents to ever happen in the future. …show more content…
After the massacre was done, the police had found that Paddock had killed himself along with the rest of his guns. “Police said Paddock had at least 23 firearms in his hotel suite” (CBS). Assuming he was alone, one would beg for an answer as to how did he bring those many weapons to the suite without anyone noticing in the first place? The only viable reason is that the hotel did not have a top-notch level of gun security. To this day, Paddock’s motive is still unknown, in fact, he had a clean background record which does not make sense at all regarding his awful actions (Fox4News). The NRA released a statement upon the massacre which says, “Banning guns from law-abiding Americans based on the criminal act of a madman will do nothing to prevent future attacks” (NRA). In reply to the said statement, Paddock was actually a law-abiding citizen himself with guns who turned out to be a terrorist and use them as an advantage in which a point is being made that the “madman” was not always a madman. The NRA assumes that none of the innocent citizens would end up doing the same unlawful actions as Paddock did. When a comparison of countries is taken into consideration, the United States is the country that has the most number of homicides and suicides that are caused by guns. Australia had experienced a mass shooting back in
Gun regulation has been a controversial topic since they were first established as a weapon. People for and against gun regulation provide strong arguments for their side. Gun regulation has fluctuated over time due to changes in office. Being a democracy prevents us from having consistency. As a nation we continue to change regulations on guns because of the different views our democracy allows us to have. The main aspects pose the most problems in gun control are violence, illegal sale of guns, and mental health checks.
The United States Gun laws need to be actively strengthened to protect and prevent harm against citizens by creating more thorough background checks, mental health checks, and more licenses specifically for different types of assault weapons. Several mass shootings have been caused by legally purchased guns caused by background checks without intensive research. With stricter gun laws harm and massive tragedies would be prevented or have more protection and safety. New laws and mandates would change the environment of gun safety and protection.
Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the United States yet in 2016 there were 762 gun related homicides, 3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims. Despite strict gun laws Chicago had one of the deadliest years in history, so are the laws really working? Strict gun control does not mean that the amount of gun related crime will decrease. So, what is the point in making strict gun control laws?
When I think of a gun that looks amazing usually has a nice blue finish to the metal. That is not the only type of finish there is, but what is the reason behind finishing. When I thought about it before the only thought that came to mind is, to help protect the gun along with the price of the gun would go up. Everyone is looking to make a dollar somehow. If not only with a time but also with skills. I think that’s about all we all could give.
Many would agree that there is a distressing amount of violence in America. Violence takes place in many forms, in different severities, and in many places. In an effort to continually make our society more civilized, ways to stop these violent acts from occurring are always being contemplated. There are many ways to approach the epidemic in America, but one that has increasing popularity is applying more strict gun control laws. Strict gun laws are viewed by many to be a step in the right direction, but they are actually a potential danger to the citizens of the United States.
Guns are a nuisance in the United States and citizens should not be allowed to own or carry a firearm. It is essential that regulations to gun control laws are enforced for the protection and welfare of our society.
Ever since the days of the pioneers, firearms have been an element of the American tradition as defense and a means of hunting or activity. As we progress through the 21st century the use of guns has changed significantly. The reason that the use of the gun is changing is fast and steady increase in crime and the battle for the right to have possession of a hand gun, the introduction of legislation for gun control, to try to decrease the felony in the United States, has been a brutal debated issue in recent years.
Most of the cases have been individuals hurting themselves or another person, however guns have also been a huge factor in catastrophic massacres. In these scenarios, guns are used to attack large groups of innocent people causing horrible massacres. For example, a place where you go to get an education should be a safe place. Yet, one of the biggest massacres in education history was " the mass shooting at Virginia Tech in 2007
. The United States is the leading country in gun related crimes in the world. Crimes that are gun related have gone down in the past due to new laws and it's time we enact them again. Stricter gun control laws are necessary in the United States in order to preserve the safety of civilians.
Some people believe that it is our right to own a gun because of the Second Amendment, while other people believe that owning a gun is harmful to the society. There should be no new gun control laws. The Second Amendment states, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms.” The controversy with guns in this country is that all they are is dangerous, but there is so much more to them. For example there is bullseye shooting, which is only shooting at targets, and no one gets hurt. There is so many good reasons on why you should be able to have a gun so the US shouldn’t make new laws.
One of the most controversial topics in the United States is gun control. It is clearly written in the Second Amendment of the Constitution that the people will have the right to bear arms. Over the years more now than ever people have been misusing those firearms and have been harming others with them. Currently The government is trying to regulate the sale, distribution, and ownership of guns because of this very reason. Some of the arguments being made by the politicians is simply if the government has the right to be able to control, and if it does, the effectiveness of the public policy to regulate guns. The importance of gun control as a health issue is a necessity. The United States has the 31st highest gun violence rate in the world
As a solid liberal I take a strong supportive role on virtually any and all issues, as a solid liberal my optimistic point of view in order for America to succeed and move forward, we must not rely on old principles, and values, I believe that success only comes with change.
Anyone with a clean criminal history can get a gun. But it is very important to use it safely. Owning a handgun is not everything. One should also know how to use it. Improper use might cause great damage. Any type of gun is dangerous. A bullet hit in the right place can kill. So, one has to understand the seriousness of a handgun. That is why there are different handgun training centers which train people to use a handgun safely. Having the proper knowledge can make a huge difference. Any inexperienced user can make a mistake and the gun might accidentally go off. So it is essential for both the person carrying the gun and for others.
Do guns protect us or cause more harm? This has been a question and argument going on for years. No one can still determine the right answer since it’s so opinionated and great views from both sides. Gun control is the when the short and monitor the gun supply for the public. There should be gun control because it will help keep everyone safe.
The second amendment goes like this, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. This amendment means that American citizens have the right to have and use guns and other weapons as long as there being used respectively. The purpose of my speech today is to tell you why the government should not increase gun control laws. First of all, guns aren’t the real killer and taking guns away would take away an option for self protection. A criminal is defined as someone who has committed a crime. A gun is defined as a something that uses bullets and makes loud noises. Although the gun is being used to commit the crime it can’t pull its own trigger. Guns don't kill people; people kill people. The fact is that criminals break the laws, even though they exist. A stone-cold criminal won’t suddenly change just because there are new laws about what they're doing wrong. According to The Great Gun Control Fallacy, Australia has issued a gun ban which didn’t turn out too well. It resulted in the armed robberies going up 69%, assaults with guns going up 28%, gun murders going up 19%, and home invasions going up 21%. Thomas Sowell said that, “While gun ownership doubled in the twentieth century, the murder rate decreased.” People tend to feel more protected if they own a gun. Statistics from the Pew Research Center show that guns are, on average, used for self defense 2.5 million times a year.
