The government has greater responsibility to keep people safe and protect instead of caring about other things. To feel welcome in the country families need their rights kept. These persons who work in the government, they don’t follow the laws, they take the money From the country and travel or buy big houses, that means they don’t work for Iraq they only work for their benefits. On 2011 my family and I were living in Iraq, Baghdad. In a big house (4 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, and two bedrooms). Passed down to feel like a heaven living in this house. In a cold day in December we were all sitting in the same living room because in winter, it is hard to keep a big house warm. At 7 PM we heard hard door knocking. For seconds I thought it was someone …show more content…
Wondering the way that they were dressing up all black (jeans, and leather jackets) was odd. Faces were covered with black cloth, but their eyes showing. One of them was standing next to the door. The gun was pointing at us by the other man. One of them was ready to say something. Silence was all over the room and we were freezing out. The man said, “ you and your family have 5 days to get out of this country… THE COUNTRY, not the house or the city, get your papers and go somewhere else.. if you do not leave you and your family will be killed”. This conversation was told to my dad directly. Finally, they left our faces were yellow can not even say one word. Only Sounds of crying and yelling were made by my little sister Also,I was worried about my dad because he has diabetes and blood pressure. At that time my dad decides to tell the other parts of the family by calling them. Leaving the house was their suggestion and we were told to take the important documents. After that we went to my dad’s aunt’s house we stayed there for 3 days she was helping us a lot of finishing the important papers and buying
What triggered the Iraq War that we are currently still having? During this time in history we were still in the cold war as well Cold War (1945–1991), a lot of events has happened during this time period. I am going to start with the Iran-Iraq war which started in 1980 and ended in 1988. The war began when Iraq invaded Iran, launching a simultaneous invasion by air and land into Iranian territory on 22 September 1980 following a long history of border disputes, and fears of Shia insurgency among Iraq's long-suppressed Shia majority influenced by the Iranian Revolution. (Wikipedia, Iran–Iraq War, 2011). This war had at least a million and half casualties and it severely damaged both their economies, the Iran-Iraq war conflict is often
U.S. marines once stated, “The only thing you should feel when you shoot your enemy is the recoil from your rifle.” The Iraq War started in March 2003, President George Bush accusing Iraq dictator Saddam Hussein of harboring weapons. President Obama promised that he was going to bring the troops home from Iraq. Our troops should be removed from Iraq because the war has cost us billions of dollars and it was America’s greatest tragedy.
How was life in Iraq and how is it in the United States. I am writing about this topic because it´s important to me. I came from a place that is different from where live today. And also where I was born. Life there was different then here by the streets. The environment there was different. The people all talked the same language. Here in the united states most people don't talk the same language. Everyone knew each other in the neighborhood. All parents trusted their kids with their neighbors if they were gone for hours. Its different then here. In Iraq all the neighbors would give each other food or feast together. If someone had a problem with their house or with their life. They would all help out each other and through no matter
All across the country military men and women are coming home from the war in Iraq, otherwise known as Operation Iraqi Freedom. This "Operation" is costing many soldiers not only their physical lives but their mental lives as well. It's one thing to come home with part of your leg or arm amputated, but it is an entirely different matter when you come home and you have lost the ability to sleep well at night. Or you cannot stand the sound of fireworks, or you cannot drive over a bridge for fear something terrible will happen, or you wake up in the night screaming from the horrors that your mind will just not forget. This is the case with many military veterans returning home from the war in Iraq. One wife recalls of her husband, "He keeps waking
Transforming Iraq and Syria into liberal, democratic, capitalist, and secular nation-states will not be an easy task. It more than likely will not work at all, based on historical evidence. We will have to find a way to connect with all kinds of people. People of different religions, backgrounds, and cultures. The people of Syria and Iraq have not taken to western ideologies well in the past, and I have trouble believing that they will in the present. There is too much conflict among the people within each country for me to believe they would easily reform to western ideologies. They cannot even decide among themselves how to live peacefully.
Ten years after the war in Iraq, the story is eerily similar, and even more devastating. Iraq is a tale of two countries: one Iraq is for the wealthy and privileged business elites and their government lackeys, while the other Iraq is lacking clean water, a clean environment, basic services and safety. If you're part of the latter Iraq, it's as if the war started this year.
are the implications for either decision? War in Iraq is just a waste of time.
Not following culture social norms in Iraq, was a big story. The most well-known norm was getting married at an early age without knowing the person in advance. Siham is my grandmother. She was forced by her family to get married when she was only 13 years old. She didn 't even know what 's happening or how her future will be painted, of course because she was only 13. She was wearing a wonderful white vintage gown that her mom made for her, because no wedding dress could have fit her specially that she was so tiny. The wedding wasn’t something huge, it was just for relatives, it didn’t even last an hour. He took her to their new home and there was the first time that they actually sat together alone. It was habitual for them during that time because it was a norm that everyone followed. What is more crazy is that she falls in love with him and they had 6 kids. In contrast, divorcing was a huge thing during that time and no one had the chance to face the society and stop their misery, as you know, not everyone was lucky enough like my grandmother to fall in love with the man she was forced to marry. The war came in 2003, people in Iraq had the chance to know what is social media. They had the chance to travel and see the world. As a result, Iraq’s mind started to adapt and develop the idea of being open-minded. But, this doesn’t mean the whole society stopped believing in what they used to believe in, simply you can 't remove 100’s of years in days, there always will be
I quickly went to the passenger side and opened that door seen a small hill of mud close by a made a run for it I couldn’t see where the person was firing from as I got to the hill I could see nothing but close by things with my flashlight I hid behind the hill I heard a noise behind me as I was looking for the shooter and looked back and there I seen a man who was injured I ran to assist him I seen he had gotten shot at on his chest I assisted him and took off my shirt and put it on his wound to stop him from bleeding he pointed behind my back and I turned around and saw the man that was firing at me he was point a AK at my I quickly grabbed my glock and shoot I shot him on the arm. He dropped his AK I ran to pick it up as fast as I could I grabbed it and aimed it at him I asked him who he was and why was he doing this he said he was in the terrorist group isis he said he and many isis solders where ordered to do this. He did not know why they wanted us to do it. I saw a little barn not far from where I was standing I shot the man and ran for the barn I hid behind the hay stacks hoping no one would find me I laid there for the night until morning around 7am I heard footsteps I got the glock ready in case if it was a terrorist and I looked through the corner of the hay and saw it was a U.S solder and I got up slowed telling him I wasn’t a terrorist and he said that there was a helicopter outside and asked if I was injured and helped me up took me to helicopter where I see
They students are now realizing how the war is really impacting people's lives. Instead of worrying about the small things like “Will the lunch ladies make cinnamon rolls?”, they started to think of difficult it is fighting in the war and how simple mistakes can take someone’s life.
and political problems. It is important to note that when the rules of different groups are not the same, conflicts between the different groups can become very violent. For instance when the Sunni and Shia had a dispute about their religious beliefs there was a bombing it left over 200 dead. Conflicts like this make it hard for the two main branches of Islam achieve their success as a country. While the first example is good, an even better one is their Political Problem because both branches want want to see their particular group in power. For example when dictator Saddam Hussein was killed. They both saw an opportunity to take power so they fought each other.
Due to the fact that our security system was so complicated, they started firing a warning shot in the air. In an attempt to enter in our house. For some reason, they did their homework before their unforgivable crime. They knew my brother was sick and they took advantage the situation. I remember one of them saying in a very large voice” if you don’t open the f***** door we will kill the sick boy first”. When my mother knew my older brother which was recently discharged from surgery and unable to defend himself, she complied immediately by gaveling the password to the rubbers. The moment they got the password all I could hear was a gunshot all over the place. They were firing AK47 and some guns I did not here about in my game. Their boss had a sticky bomb in his hand. I remember the sticky bomb from my game. It was one of my favorite weapon to kill my enemy in the game. I was not too afraid of the AK47 except for the sticky bomb. Whenever I used the sticky bomb in my game everybody die. At that point, I realize that we were in danger.
Iraq and Democracy Systems based on guaranteed freedoms, the rule of law, and peaceful electoral transitions are obviously desirable for all. Today's debate over bringing democracy to the Muslim Middle East often centers on whether the region is "ready for democracy" (Newsom). A number of problems the US has to face during transferring democratic essentials seems to just increase: ongoing fights in whole Iraq, a lack of governmental structure, a shortage of charismatic political figures, who would be acceptable by American side, and finally the lack of cultural experience in democratic governing. Giving the power over to Iraqis must be done, but the process has to be careful and proceeded by
In recent years, the Iraqi nation has endured a crisis that will forever remain in the hearts and minds of the Middle Eastern culture. However, the outcomes of the War on Iraq will not change the long-lasting and passionate traditions and memories that have been held in the country for decades. One major event that happened in Iraq’s history is that on October 3, 1932 Iraq was established as an independent nation. Iraq has always been a country in which respect and generosity have been highly valued and play an important cultural role in everyday life. Additionally, approximately ninety-five percent of Iraqis are Muslim, and therefore Islam is the official religion of this nation (Gutierrez 1). Furthermore, Iraq is a
My mother was the women I saw them taking her and I knew who they were too. Not literally the men under the mask but the people they were working for. They were working for an underground illegal business. They were called the A.W.E.G. (Advanced Warfare Elimination Group) I knew them as the people I was running from. Very few even knew about their existence. Now I had to get out of the house. As I got out of the front I saw a van drive away, I knew they had my mother in there. I turned around and the house exploded. I felt so many things at once if you’ve ever seen a rag doll get thrown around I looked more than likely exactly like that. Once I hit the ground all the pain I didn’t feel kicked in. The force of the explosion threw me into the ground at a high speed. Once I hit the ground it felt like jumping out of a 5 story building and splating on concrete. I looked at my arms and they had some first degree burns It felt like a sunburn on steroids. I also couldn’t feel my leg until I looked at it. A piece of rebar went all the way through my thigh. There was nothing I had ever felt to describe it. Once I pulled it out I started walking to an old friend’s house. After limping around
