The article ‘My Two Lives’ which that highlights the concept of ‘Language and Society’ published by the Newsweek, inspires this task. Language is both a system of communication between individuals and a social phenomenon. The area of language and society, sociolinguistics, is intended to show how such factors as class, gender, race, and more govern our use of language. In short, language constitutes humans and their identities. All people either utilize varieties of a language or use two or more languages to respond to a whole range of affective and interpersonal demands; language by depiction must be defined as multilingualism.

Emotions are used in our everyday lives help us understand and comprehend a situation. The way we feel can affect the way we think through a situation and the situation that we make. Our emotions are expressed when we play sports, when a loved one dies, or when we see our newly born baby for the first time. Emotions are a state of consciousness like joy, sorrow, fear, hate, and love. Whenever we are presented with a situation, our brain responds in feelings, and our feeling determine what will happen next.

Language is used to communicate and convey meaning from one person to another. It is an arbitrary system of sounds and symbols in which it is contextualised and is used to express cultural identity and social relationships. Language can be seen by the way individuals communicate through gestures and facial and body expressions. Language can be heard through voice and attitude (Gee & Hayes, 2011). Language is diverse in the sense that different languages have different words for the same concept. However language allows communication of values and beliefs. Kilickaya (2009) highlights that, ‘English is the best option for people from different backgrounds’. Within Standard English different registers are used to assist communication,

Social structures and cultures are founded upon social interactions. By interacting with one another, people design rules, institutions and systems within which they seek to live. Symbols are used to communicate the expectations of a given society to those new to it, either children or outsiders. Through this broad schema of social development, one sees how social interaction lies at its core.

Emotions are an important part of the human being life. When humans express their emotions, they are displaying everyone else how they really feel about the current situation. Emotions are a big stitching to the quilt of shared humanity. When humans share their emotions, they find other humans who are also having these same emotions. Emotions allow humans to show how they are feeling about an event or situation and allow others to understand how they are feeling as well.

A concept according to Blumer, Social interactionism describes that “in the process of interaction between people… in the process of communication.” (Blumer 1986) Which helps with sociological interaction in a better way to understand for this particular episode.

Many ancient civilizations of this world started with people doing simple tasks in life. Early civilizations often hunted and farmed for food. Over time, society became accustomed to these simple things and started to interact, by several means. Interaction is so important in the development of human societies, since it brings about developments and innovations within several cultures of society.

Social interaction is a face to face process that is made up of different things. The process consists of actions, reactions and even mutual adaptation between the people involved in the interaction. The objective of social interaction is to communicate with other people. Social interactions among different people in the society can be affected by body language or communication. Emotion, in psychology is defined as a complex state of feeling that causes physical and psychological changes that influences one’s thought and behavior. It is associated with many psychological phenomena like temperament, personality, mood and motivation. According to David G. Meyers, human emotion involves physiological arousal, expressive behaviors and conscious experience.

Language is a system of communication which consists of a set of sounds and written symbols which are used by the people of a particular country or region for talking or writing. It is considered as an art because when used it able to help a person develop or create a certain picture in the mind. Language being an artifact of culture means that it is an interesting thing that is created by the people. It is an aspect of their way of life of the people. It also helps in development of the people as writers and intellects. As a culture it is a people’s way of life and therefore the impact it has to human beings cannot be under looked.

Social interaction is what make up our human society. Through interaction, we socialize with our family, friends, people in the community to strengthen our relationship with each other. Through socialization, human society is established and become the foundation for everything inside the society. Our society is more complex than any society found in nature, but it’s not perfect nor ideal for every member inside the society. Thus, the thought of an ideal society as well as how to achieve that society is very fascinating among sociologists, whose role is to solve social problems and develop this theory.

Communication takes place through spoken and written language—words hold both literal and emotional meaning, which creates a bridge from abstract experiences to rational ideas. Language's role as the medium of meaning allows authors to appropriate linguistic patterns from other sources in order to modify or extend existing ideas in society (Foster 14). However, language accomplishes little beyond modifying preexisting ideas. Because it applies to entire societies, it captures only the crudest and most basic aspects of a culture’s collective experience of the world, rather than the nuances of an individual’s experience. This limitation often results in the reinforcement of broad social divisions, such as race, as seen in Native Guard, or harmful, widely held ideologies, as exemplified in Heart of Darkness. Making use of its social implications as the infrastructure of human experience, authors use language as a literary symbol to represent the inherent shortcomings of the use of a wide-reaching societal tool to shape individual understandings of reality. Language's nature as a broad medium for culture makes it a clumsy and inaccurate tool for communicating the nuances of an individual's experience of life.

Emotions are an integral part of our life. Emotions, often called feelings, include experiences such as love, hate, anger, trust, joy, panic, fear, and grief. Emotions are specific reactions to a particular event that are usually of fairly short duration. Emotions have both physical and mental components. Emotions colour people 's lives and give them depth and differentiation. Emotions can be positive or negative. For me, strong emotions are linked to creativity and expression.

Social interaction is a key concept and necessity each individual experiences. Throughout the lifespan there are different engagements he or she will interact with. There are many different aspects on how one’s social life can be affected, positively or negatively. Social interaction is one of the most important determinants in foreseeing how one is going to develop physically, emotionally, and mentally. This can include milestones that are passed successfully and others that were thwarted in the process.
