Because there is no endless for education, people keep doing research to fulfill their curiosity. Additionally, a potential research also helps people develop their knowledge in short term and long term run. As for me, when I do a research, the problem that underlines my question should be something that I don’t know. It should be something that I’m curious such as the weather. Even though my research doesn't directly signify the social problem, but that is one part which made my research unique and interesting for me, because people don’t really care about the weather, as long as it isn't too terrifying as a hurricane, so no one cares. To be honest, the weather in Merced is weird and unpredictable. One of the reason is that the land of Merced city is flat and grassy. …show more content…
Also during summer, it would have tropical wind all day and freezing during the night because the land exudes the overwhelmed temperature which caused it so windy again during that time and since it has less tree, those wind would cover the land and make the weather even worst. The first solution that I thought when I see this weather is to plant more trees. Because the trees will block the wind during winter, and control over the high temperature during summer. Additionally, the tree would filter the air and give us better Oxygen with less Carbon dioxide. Not even that benefits, it would also help the world to decrease the world temperature, even though it is a very small number but isn’t better than zero percent? There is many scientists have been recording the change in temperature which caused the ice in North and South Pole are melting more than ever
Normal summer conditions in Southern California are dry, often with extreme heat and low humidity level of sixty percent. California has been in a cycle of intense heat, drought, and high fire risk. During the majority of the summer season, individuals in Southern California are at either at an extreme caution or caution level according to the heat index. The heat index is a tool used to convert weather temperatures into a more understandable value by accounting for humidity level (Clements & Casani, 2014). The heat index recommends adding fifteen degrees Fahrenheit when in direct sunlight.
According to Depoy and Gittin, research is a way individuals think about problems in systematic way. Research is generally described as description, exploration, analysis, prediction and problem solving. There are different types of research and these researches are called the experiments, quasi-experiments and non-experiments. The purpose of research is to provide the insight to practice, it also enhance individuals understanding as well as developing new approaches with different topics, get to test your research for effectiveness. Understanding research is important because it helps to build individuals knowledge bases and informs decision making in practice. Research also enable us to make sure that our practice are up to date with relevant information.
When you think about research, it could be thought of as a process. A process can be defined as a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end. The process in research is important because research takes time and consideration. As you conduct research, you may gain a deeper insight that could be gained gradually and modifications can be made or changed over time (Ghauri and Gronhaug, 2010). When you are doing research it is a good idea to look at it from the perspective that it is a
Research allows us to better understand what is unknown, how a human thinks, why a dog barks when they hear a stranger approaching or that the earth is round and not flat. Research allows us to find answers to the questions we have. Research attempts to both understand and define. There are three kinds of research; Explanatory; Exploratory and Descriptive research. Explanatory, Exploratory and Descriptive research define what research is; Research is the attempt to explain, explore and describe (Neuman, 2006, 24).
Through research people can learn new information that can help us find more discoveries. Research is one of the main reasons people have made discoveries without failure. With research, we can find the locations for new sites where we can find artifacts buried underground. Research gives new opportunities to find out about about the information you are studying. According to In praise of Careful Science “It took more than 20 years after the ‘melted chocolate moment’ to bring a commercial microwave to the public”(p 6). This shows that the people trying to make something new needed years of research to be able to find out how to successfully make the microwave that they were trying to create. If there is no research when trying to make something new or trying to find something that is undiscovered there will be multiple mistakes that will
Forests control the amounts of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere therefore contributing to global warming. However we as a planet have a problem… deforestation.
The article discusses the conditions in San Joaquin Valley after the state’s largest fire left it covered in dust. On the one hand, the fire so far has spared lives and homes, but on the other hand, it has caused dangerous drops in air quality that can cause public health problems and threaten life. It discusses what many of the conditions are like since the drought has begun and how the longer wildfire season means more smoke in the air more often. Dr. Jain, an associate professor at the University of California, San Francisco said that, “It’s kind of a worst nightmare situation.” I agree because the amount of soot in the air is dangerous for all forms of life and can cause a number of respiratory health problems that can be fatal. Dr. Malik
The famous German physicist Albert Einstein once said, “If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?” Often in the classroom and life in general, many people assume that in order to research something, a person must first understand it, but that simply is not the case. The whole concept of research stems from human’s natural response to the unknown and the desire to understand it; almost all humans have used research to comprehend and attempt to solve problems. Personally, I have used research a great deal for personal and educational reasons. In high school, I used research for historical and literary papers, in order to better understand concepts, and to discover resources for almost every class. I also

California is one of the most progressive states in America, and is constantly evolving and advancing in fields such as technology, food, and entertainment. The biggest change in California is not one of those three but rather the climate. Climate change is a term coined by physicist Gilbert Plass during the 1950’s to describe the total change in global climate patterns. In his research Plass discovered that the earth was heating up due to carbon dioxide emissions trapping heat from escaping the earth’s atmosphere. What he really discovered was the connection between climate change with global warming and the greenhouse effect. California specifically has contributed significantly to carbon dioxide emissions and the warming of the earth. We
In California we are in a drought. On April 1st, the Governor of California Jerry Brown stood on a random patch of brown grass in the Sierra Nevada mountains which is usually covered with several feet of snow is when he announced the first forced water restrictions in the history of California.
I read an article published on CNN titled "Climate change could leave Californians with 'weather whiplash". In the article, it explains how California is known for its nice and soothing environment but with the enjoyable weather comes major shifts in its climate causing the weather patterns to be weak between drought and flood. The climate patterns have significant impacts on society and human life, causing extremely climate conditions only making mitigation and adaptation that much worse. According to UCLA Center for Climate Science, the dramatic swings from wet to dry will be twice as likely every 25 years, by 2100.
California now entering the fourth year of a record-breaking drought creating an extremely dehydrated landscape. Governor Jerry Brown confirmed a drought State of Emergency in January 2016 and enforced strict conservation actions statewide. The drought effects all of us even if you’re seven states away or two. Here are my reasons why we need to worry about the drought.
The problem of climate change is a regular topic of debate. A debate that is rightfully being drilled into the forefront of everyone’s thoughts because the damage has started to become more apparent. The repercussion has started to manifest themselves through altered weather patterns, as the Earth’s temperate zone have become less, for lack of a better word temperate. Unless
Nowadays, one of the most difficult problems is Global Warming. It is obvious that increasing in earth's temperature has made significant negative effects on earth's climate during the last few
