The Theme Of Isolation In ‘The Invisible Man’ :

No longer had it stepped on the stage of 1952, the invisible man immediately acclaimed its deserved place as a masterpiece. A work epic and richly comic, won the national book award for its author, Ralph ellison. The book ‘Invisible Man’ has been translated into fourteen languages. Two hundred writers and critics selected this book as the most distinguished novel of education.
The Invisible Man’ is a science fiction but the book has a deep message and message is universal. The book describes The Invisible Man as a young successful man, some time absurd adventures of a young black man whose successful search for identity ends with the realization that he is Invisible to the colourful world.
Some black critics argued that it was a ‘race’ novel, while white critics were relieved that it was not. It also raised the ire of black nationalists for sacrificing the broader concerns of black nationhood in the defence of a narrow individualism. The concept of indivisibilty may sound unrealistic, but the writing style of H.G Wells colours it with realism. The present story tells us about a devoted scientist who invents a way to change an objects and by that object he becomes invisible. He tries his experiment on himself and goes invisible but he has no other way to come out from that so that was the stage where invisible man feel so alone in his journey of life.
