It was not until this year that I started to watch wrestling. Wrestling seemed to be more of a male fan based sport than female fan based. Boy was I wrong! January of this year I had attended my first pro wrestling event and loved it. The scenery was way different than what I had expected it to be. It was an experience that I will never forget; therefore, I need to thank my fiancé for the opportunity! Growing up I never had an interest in wrestling. I had always thought it was boring and rough. I was taught it was too disgusting to watch and to never like fighting of any kind. I was raised by a single mother, so we were raised to dislike violence and gore. I honestly did not know anything about wrestling. On the same note, I had no idea who …show more content…
One the other hand, the scenery was all lit up and lights going from every which way. The crowd was obnoxiously loud; however, you learn to join in! I had gotten involved quicker than I expected too! The crowd goes wild when they start playing the wrestlers music, whether it be a good chant or a bad chant. When we were walking down to our seats, we got stopped by the Ushers and they walked us to our seats! I was amazed how close we were. We were getting pictures and before the show started we wanted to get souvenirs and shirts. We then found our way back to our seats and sat there ancily waiting for it to begin. Soon after we sat down, music starts playing for each of the announcers coming out and founding their way to the announcement table. All the lights shut off randomly and the crowd began to scream for joy, and out of nowhere fireworks came on; one after another as our seats shook from the effect of the fireworks. The isle between the seats could have been a little wider. Hardly did anyone get up to get food or drinks because the matches were too intense to miss anything. I had never been to an event where you do not get up for anything. It was hard for me not to get up and go to the restroom; however, I had managed to hold it and not miss a single move from the wrestlers. The lights had gone out again and next thing you know everybody had gotten there flashlight on their phones out and started to wave them. I was amazed on how lit up that arena was from all the lights on phone. Before you know, the arena goes wild and starts screaming! Out came one of the tag team groups, The Wyatt Family, who I found creepy and awkward. That specific group reminds me of the show, Duck
Throughout high school and undergraduate studies, I have tried to achieve academic excellence, improve my athletic abilities and become a better employee at a law firm. Although several experiences have shaped me as an individual, I believe that wrestling set the foundation for most of my improvements and accomplishments. I first started practicing wrestling when I was six years old and competing when I was nine. Although I was training four times a week, I failed to win anything for several years. I became less confident in my abilities, but I did not give up on the sport. I wanted to prove to myself that I can compete for medals with other athletes. Poor performances motivated me to work harder in practices, spectate older wrestlers and exercise
Deep breaths… Okay- you got this. It’s just you and the vault. Nothing else matters. You have done this a million times before. Nick always here to catch me if I fall. Muscle memory takes over. When I am in the right mental state, anything seems possible. Any athlete would agree with me. All sports are half mental. AS I run down the runway, I know why I am a gymnast. Every bounding step I take I run farther and farther from everything happening in my life. Farther and farther from all the distractions. I can only hear my feet pounding into the springboard. Flying off the vault with a power I don’t even know I contain, everything zapped into slow motion. This is what it all comes down to. Every minute of training in the gym. Every wrist and
The sport of wrestling became my entire life when I was eight years old and it is the reason I am the man you see today. Wrestling helped me discover who I am as a person, and it is also a big factor in the career path that I am on today. There are countless times during my wrestling career that have been life lessons and eye openers to me, one incident that stands out from the rest was the first wrestling tournament of the season.
I began wrestling since my freshman year of high school, as I have always wanted to wrestle. I did not necessarily at the sport, but I enjoyed it. I earned medals and won tournaments, and for a time I even saw myself wrestling in college. I thought that I had my future planned until I dislocated my knee. I first viewed the incident as a freak accident, but it soon happened frequently. It reached to the point where I required invasive surgery. Mulling over my surgery and repeated injuries, I concluded that wrestling became too dangerous. But I committed myself to wrestling; I had no idea what else to do. Desperate to find an activity to fill the void that athletics left behind, I decided to try something outside of my comfort zone. As a result,
I remember the day I walked into the dojo. It feels like it was yesterday, that day my dad signed my sister and I up for karate. I was excited and a bit nervous - you could say I was nervouscited. I had so much fun in the basic class earning stars, learning the student creed, and doing black belt challenges. The first star I earned was my red star for black belt attitude. This is the moment I realized that I wanted to become a black belt.
Becoming a wrestler changed my life. I’ve always been athletic, growing up I played football, baseball, and, before I wrestled, basketball. None of those sports, however, pushed me as hard, or taught me as much as wrestling.
When I was little I saw professional wrestler Bayley win the Women’s World Championship, and I thought I want to do that; I want to be her-- she’s awesome. Even though many people said that I could not do it, when Sasha Banks give a very motivational speech I learned what my calling was. I wanted to become a professional wrestler. There are many other people that might want to pursue their wrestling skills, too. People that want to pursue wrestling professionally need to know budgeting, where to go to get education, and what they need to do to get a head start in wrestling. many people that like wrestling want to become a pro wrestler so this will be helpful to those people that want to pursue their wrestling skills into a Profession.
All I could pay attention to were the Doctor’s socks, sticking out from under his trousers. They had little sushis on them. I half-listened to his words- they sounded garbled like they would underwater. After a failed physical therapy program and a disappointing first doctor's’ appointment I prepared myself for the worst. After all, Osteochondritis Dissecans doesn’t exactly sound optimistic. My hearing finally came back to focus at the words “I can fix your arm. You can do gymnastics again.” I study the doctor. He isn’t tall, he has graying hair and sushi socks. His voice is encapturing - very clear and matter o fact. “ I can fix your elbow. You can do gymnastics again. It is not going to be easy to come back. But I can do it.”
I was up by one my heart was racing and my mouth was bloody. I was ready for war. After my opponent was finished with his injury timeout we shake hands and it's time to go… This war I am talking about is Wrestling It's an adventurous, fun, hardworking, roller coaster and i've just begun the ride. But this is how it's been so far...
Although wrestling is a little bit confusing for me at first, someone have me an opportunity to dig a little bit deeper about wrestling. Having a friend that is part of a wrestling team, it opened me a door to watch wrestling tryouts and practices. It made me excited and nervous at the same time. I was excited because I could watch live wrestling practice but nervous because I did not know what to expect being in the same room as the wrestlers. Being in the room where I can actually see the wrestlers face to face is totally different than watching them on screens. It was tougher and more intense. I can see the determination in their faces they have just to be part of them team. They were like lions that is ready to attack whoever came near
A few more bands performed their music, and the time in between sets you can calmly talk to the other people at the show. The best thing about starting a conversation with a random person is you get to learn so much about their history and cool interesting things they have learned along the way. All of the “scary” punk kids I saw before the show, after talking to them I realized they are the coolest and most down to earth people I have ever met. By the time the headliner band The Dead Kennedy’s came on, there were four separate mosh pits and lots of crazies going around. By that time I cut my lip, gotten punched in the nose and I had that feeling I would be in a world of pain the next morning. But it was one of the best nights I have ever had, and it was more than seeing one of my favorite bands it was a true experience.
I was walking down the sidewalk with my friend Manny then I saw a grasshopper eating a square slice of bologna with pickle juice on it and also it had a trapezoid shaped sausage then Manny screamed “ look at that grasshopper “ .
Every once in a while, people will always get their best experience or worst experience playing the sport that they love or have fun playing. I am no different since I experience the best or worse in each sport I play. I play three different sports: stickball, basketball, and soccer. I will explain the best and worst incident that happened in each sport I play, starting with stickball.
Have you ever had a thought about your life when you are about to accomplish your life goals “Damn I been thought hell and back to reach my dream” as I stand after the most crazy and wild fight in my career waiting on the decision hearing the crowd roar after the final bell. I shake my opponents’ hand Edward Garcia. I think about where I have come from losing my parents and my grandparents at a young age. I thank god and my coach Greg Williams for let him getting off the streets before I was dead bury six feet under with my parents for during something stupid instead of during great things with my life. Just thinking about how I turn my life around thanks to this great sport Of MMA better known as mixed martial arts. It taught so discipline
The arena was packed with fans all different ages, all with pulsing energy. People wore festive outfits and most were in the holiday spirit. I attended the concert with four of my closest friends, we had been planning the night out for months. Our seats were located in section 6, just left of the stage. We had a perfect view of the singers and couldn't have been more star-struck.
