The Bible is a sacred book of scriptures that Christians and people of the Jewish faith believe is the written account of the word of God. Many different authors composed the works that make up the Bible. It is said that Jesus Christ is the son God who was sent to be the Lord and Savior of all people. Many Christians and Jewish people believe the Bible is the way of life. Those who believe and follow the beliefs of the Bible and God’s word will have eternal life if they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The Bible has been in print and given to others for hundreds of years. The first King James Bible was published back in the year 1611. Within the King James Version, it used to contain what are now known as the canons. A biblical canon is a set or series of related books. The canons, within the King James Version, these were called the books of the apocrypha. Apocrypha means ‘hide away’ in Greek. The apocrypha is a collection of books that were located in between the Old Testament and the New Testament. For over 270 years, the books of the apocrypha were published in the King James Version of the Bible.

Mary has brought a very tough predicament to the table, one that is definitely not easy to solve. I do not know if I will be able to give her the correct advice, but I will share with her what I know. The accepted role of women in the church has been a highly debated argument for centuries. Acceptable roles have changed quite a few times, usually with the denomination. Even the Scriptures can lead to different interpretations that cause the debate to continue. To me this is like a very wicked Bible and History book all in one. Just like the Christian Bible it tells the people that there is only one god. The manual goes back to the past on how a group of people come over to their land and took over, by raping virgins, shaving women's hair and so on. When you start reading its confusing but not only does it confusing it tries to make the reader angry by telling them the history, but also make them sick because it tells them to do what happened to them, and do it to others in a kind of Pledger known as "O Sister" In our Christian Bible it states "how the lord will forgive your sins" and "only fear him". In 1604 King James commissioned an English translation of the Bible. James wasn’t doing this solely because he was a devout Christian, but also because of ulterior motives. James planned to use this Bible to enforce the Divine Right of Kings. He wanted this version to replace the Geneva Bible because he believed that the margin notes show disrespect to kings. James also wanted to use this translation to unite the Church of England and the Puritans who’s fighting was threatening to tear the country apart. In addition, he had many rules for the new translation such as the ecclesiastical words are to be kept. In my personal opinion this rule was intended to retain the power in the hierarchy because the word church was not to be translated to congregation.

Before King James I became king of England he was James IV of Scotland. King James I was the only relative that could have taken the thorn after Queen Elizabeth I. King James I is known as one of the most intelligent kings to have ever ruled England. King James I was crowned King on July 29, 1567, but he was only born 13 months when he was crowned. Twenty years after being crowned king, King James I held a conference and it was there that the decision to make an “authorized” English translation of the Bible.

In today’s society the controversial subject of what positions in the church a woman can hold; has become incredibly debatable among the nation. Some people believe that women have equal rights with men and can uphold any position that a man can. Today’s society also believes that because a woman can be in political and business power, then a woman can also be in authority in the church. However, that could not be farther from the truth a women’s positions in the church are defined by God.

“Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore. For the LORD loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteousness shall inherit the land, And dwell in it forever.” (Psalm 37:27-29)

Gender roles, and the mere existence of a gender binary, has been a recent topic of conversation for many churches, theologians, and individual believers. As the cultural pressure to remove gender-specific limitations builds, many of those aforementioned have turned to scripture for answers. Seldom are women’s roles in the Old Testament characterized by decision making or personal merits. Rather, a woman’s capacity to produce an heir for their husband complements his dominance and responsible faithfulness and allows God’s plan to be fulfilled through their combined efforts. In the New Testament, through the transformative power of Christ, prominent women became less of an anomaly, but were still held to a different set of standards and expectations than men and were usually still praised according to their actions and their faith. The Pauline epistles, written in the context in which the Church still exists today: the age to come, provide a basis for today’s understanding of women’s roles in marriage and in church leadership. Although there are many instances of women fulfilling God’s plans and proving their worth among the community of Christians, the biblically normative role of women is to avoid authoritative church leadership positions and remain submissive in situations of teaching and interpreting the Word.

In reading the King James Version, New American bible, and new living translation, each of these translations in my opinion show no significant difference in reading Genesis 2. Each translation gives a good description of how God created the heavens and the earth and explaining the Sabbath. Although each translation is clear and understandable, I believe the King James Version is more transparent to those who will read it. These translations do not make a difference in understanding of the true exegesis. The translations are conveying the same thing but just using different wording. All of these versions are translated from different sources and some words might transfer over to different meaning. I think it would matter if these translations

The bases of keeping women out of the ministry in most religions are more or less tradition. A Bible scripture such as (Mat. 10:2) as Jesus was searching for His disciples he only chose men. Even when he had to replace them, He only chose men. In most of the passages in the bible, Jesus never chose a woman nor did He address the public by speaking to the woman specifically. Some would believe that Jesus was a sexist, but during the times it was only tradition for a man to be the head of everything and the role of a woman during the biblical times were to listen to the man, nurture her family and husband. During the biblical times when Jesus walked this earth, Christianity was a very warous event. People were not accepting of the Christ therefore it leads to wars and battles. (Mat. 24: 6).
