The end of the story didn’t tell us what was behind the door that was open, the author leaves it up to the reader to decide what comes from behind the door. You could either open a door and get mauled by a tiger, or you could open a door and see the love of your life. I would want to see the love of my life and not the tiger. When a person gets accused of a crime they have to go to court, but court then wasn’t like it is now. You are not in a room with a judge you are in an arena filled with people and the king is there. Literary compositions typically present twists and extreme actions that are ultimately stemmed on symbolism. In fact, the symbolism makes the narrative fascinating and absorbing (Haase 163). This is true for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ by Jeanne-Marie LePrince De Beaumont and ‘The Tiger’s Bride’ by Angela Carter. The two compositions use symbolism to investigate and examine the nature of females and males, and cross-gender relationships by evaluating and exploring the motifs of refinement (civilization) and wildness. In this case, the two compositions present one gender as the refining agents in their relationships with the other gender.

one of my reasons why I think the lady choose the tiger is because even though she loves this man she can't seem to see him with another women, That would just be to much for her in my point of view and I don't think he could even love another woman when he's love of his life is the kings daughter
In the story, “The Lady or the Tiger?,” the author left off the story for the reader to decide what was behind the door; the lady or the tiger. Author Frank R. Stockton wrote a story about a semi-barbaric King who has a unique way of justice. When a person has committed a sort of crime, they would be sent to a stadium-like setting where they would face two, identical doors; one holding a vicious, hungry tiger, and the other, a gorgeous women waiting to be wedded. The king believes that only fate can decide the victim’s future. In this story, it is clear to see in many ways that it was the tiger behind to door which the victim chose.
In different stretches across world, kids are undoubtedly raised differently than they are in another. But, there are always deviations within a majority. For example, on occasion there is always one kid that is either pushed to be the best, or in other cases, not pushed to try at all. In “The Roar of the Tiger Mom”, Amy Chua dives deep into the discussion about how a child should be raised. She administers her own views and shares her experiences of guiding her children to success. Throughout the excerpt, she compares cultural contrast of Western and Chinese upbringings and justifies why some demand excellence.
Without the slightest hesitation, he went to the door on the right, and opened it. Before the gate had even reached a foot off the ground the young lover, heartbroken, watched four frantic feet pacing back and forth and heard a deep, rhythmic panting. His mind frenziedly raced with dozens of thoughts: How could you do this to me? My dear lover, do you care but only for yourself? Someone must have forced her to tell me to choose the right door! What sort of fool am I to fall in love with the fairest lady in the kingdom?! What am I to do now? Run The tiger steadily stepped out of his dark cage, allowing the afternoon sun to warm his striped fur. He gazed first at the masses seated breathlessly around the stadium
Written by Aravind Adiga, The White Tiger tells the story of a man who went from living with nothing to someone with everything he could ever want. Balram Halwai grows up in “the Darkness,” an area of India where, among other things, family was the main source of life and contempt for family was of the utmost evil. When he decides to find a job outside of his social circle, Balram’s family implores him to send money home to sustain them. He finally hits his final straw when his grandmother begins to try to force him to be married, something he does not have interest in and knows it will take away his independence. Once he disconnects from his family, he is able to be himself, free from his former life that tied him down. As Balram Halwai embarks on his journey to become successful as the “White Tiger”, the social concept of family breaks down, thus giving way to him finding his independence.
Every heart stopped beating, every breath was held, eye was fixed upon that man. Without the slightest hesitation, he went the door on the right hand and opened as a huge tiger came out. Some people felt happy and some people felt sad. As, the man shocked as the watched the tiger run towards him. Everyone watched in stock as the tiger tore the man into pieces. The man was sacred as he fought for his life. Although it all happened in 10 minutes, to everyone it felt like 10 hours. The whole stadium went silent as they watched the man lose his life. The king felt happy about the man’s choice but also sad to see his daughter crying.
These courts were all based on the accused having to prove his innocence. Unlike today, you are innocent until proven guilty. In the Middle Ages the accused were required to prove his innocence and
On January 27, an article was published, “Why Chinese Mothers are Superior” by the Wall Street Journal. It brought attention and promotes extreme controversy. Chua sparked debates over the differences in parenting styles of American and Chinese heritages. “Chinese Mothers” used in a broad statement and “Western Mothers” used for every other party. Americans began to raise questions. Chua’s article referring to herself as a Tiger mother stands to have both negative comments and some positive.
“The Lady, or The Tiger” by Mr. Frank R. Stockton has compelled readers for as long as time. This story ends with all wondering, so which is it, the delicate and fair young lady or the savage, fierce, wild-eyed tiger standing behind the door. This makes us ponder whether human heart chooses love or jealously. Within this essay, there will be proof that it is the stunning young woman behind the door. Although there is evidence proving that it is the tiger, in a sense there is more evidence stating that the elegant and barbaric princess allowed her real lover to continue living. To begin let us start with the small dwindling points that the tiger, lye behind the door.
Decisions; everyone makes them, yet only some majorly effect someone's life. In the story "The Lady, or The Tiger", a princess's lover is sentenced to a trial of chance by the king, the princess's father, after the monarch discovers that his daughter and the young man are in a relationship together. The trial is very simple; in an amphitheater filled with civilians, the accused must open one of two doors. Behind one door is a ferocious tiger, and behind the other is a lady. Depending on the decision of the man on trial, this either ends in a horrific death, or an immediate marriage. According to the king's logic, this was a perfectly fair way to determine guilt or innocence. Now, at the young man's trial, the princess indicates to the young man which door he should open; however, which door she chose was never revealed. Despite this, there is great evidence in the story that indicates that the tiger came out of the door that the young man opened.
