The book revolves around a 12 year old kid named Percy Jackson finding out that he is a demigod and the one of Poseidon, the god of the seas. The Lightning Thief is the first part of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians 5 book-series. Written by Uncle Rick Riordan, it introduces another side of the typical Greek Mythology series in which he had made his own story of the Olympian gods and their children using them as a guide and reference. As you start reading chapter one, it will ultimately tell your mind to keep reading the next chapters, as quoted “If you’re a normal kid, reading this because you think it is fiction, great. Read on.” It is as if the events written had happen in the given setting. It opens your wildest imaginations and gives you the satisfaction on the entertainment given while reading a fiction book. The story is on Percy Jackson’s point of view in which he narrates the story in his own time and way. He was kicked out of every school he attended because of being a troubled kid but managed to stay at Yancy Academy for a while. There he meets Grover, where in the story later on will be …show more content…

The Book Thief, written by an Australian author, Markus Zusak, is a devastatingly powerful historical-fiction novel that bears several re-readings. Being one of the greatest, most divinely-written epilogues in my school library, The Book Thief, is a soul-shattering, thought-provoking story that undoubtedly can be recommended to the young and old alike. This poignant, prolonged, but achingly sad book, is the pinnacle of contemporary historical-fiction, poised to become a classic. Phenomenally breathtaking, and inspiring, bringing nothing but anticipatory dread, this lyrical, surreal book, though depressingly morbid at times, was my “gateway” to historical-fiction. The tribulations and trials provided in the novel, had inevitable passion, perspective
Percy Jackson was sent on this quest to find Zeus missing lightning bolt, he had week to do it or he was turned into a dolphin. He was the son of Poseidon which wasn't a great thing because Poseidon wasn't supposed to have children. Chiron sent him on this quest but, the real reason Percy did it was to save his mother. When he was given this quest he got a prophecy which is which one or more messages are communicated by gods. His friend Annabeth and Grover went on the quest to help him. Grover was a satyr and Annabeth has been at camp Half-Blood since she was seven and camp Half-Blood is the camp Percy was sent too. Finally all four parts of Percy prophecy came true.

Percy Jackson - Percy Jackson is the twelve-year-old protagonist of The Lightning Thief. He is the narrator and the hero of The Lightning Thief. At the beginning of the story, Percy's life perspective is pretty negative. Percy is a 12-year-old boy who has been expelled from every school he has attended in the past 6 years. Percy is dyslexic and has ADHD. A scene that best shows this is when he says, “I could start at any point in my short and miserable life to prove it.” When he begins telling his story, he's a bit grumpy, angry, or even depressed. Percy comes from a very humble background, meaning he is grateful for the simple joys in life. Percy never knew his dad. His mother eventually married a guy named Gabe Ugliano, Percy calls him Smelly Gabe. They live in a small apartment in Queens, NY, and Gabe enjoys making Percy's life and Percy's mom's life miserable.
Percy Jackson is selfless in many ways. He always puts himself in danger to help his loved ones out of danger while his friends ask him to leave them and finish the rest of the quest, but he stays and put himself in danger. Furthermore, on page 59 it says “Hey! I screamed, waving the jacket, running to one side of the monster. Hey, stupid! Ground beef!" this quote shows that Percy is trying to keep the attention on him so that his loved ones can get out. Instead of running away to the camp he stayed and helped his friend.
The plot type of Percy Jackson the Lightning Thief is voyage and return and a quest. Percy Jackson has a voyage and return plot because Percy needs to leave his home to save his mom from Hades, who traped her in the underworld so that Percy would give him the lightning bolt; the story is a quest because he left home to search for something, in the movie percy was searching for the pearls so that he could escape the underworld when he whent to get his mom. Perseus also has a voyage and return plot because perseus leaves home to get a wedding gift for polydectes; medusa’s head. Percy Jackson used the theme of Perseus to render the story new because the author of Percy Jackson wanted the people that watched the movie to make the connection between the two stories that they

Sally Jackson:The reason i put percy's mom i this book talk is because i think she is a very important person in the story because she will do anything and everything in her will to keep her son save there is a boyfriend in the story he is a jerk.He ask for beer all day plays poker in the living room with his friend while Sally gets them bber and is there servent and the reason she put up with that guy is because of percy, she wanted to keep him save. The stench of dave is so terrible it keep the monsters from getting to percy.
“My nightmare nightmare started like this.” This was said by Percy before he explained this vision of Grover being in danger. The camp is in trouble and Grover found the one thing that could save it but he was captured and can’t escape without Percy’s help. He sends messages to Percy in his nightmares hoping Percy will listen to them. Soon percy will go on a quest with his friends Annabeth and Tyson to rescue Grover and get the Golden Fleece from the Sea of Monsters to save Camp Half-Blood from destruction. The Puritan would protest Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters due to the women playing a strong role in the quest, lack of family values, and its support of unnatural beings and multiple gods.
The book, Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan is all about the children of Greek gods and goddesses and the monsters of Greek mythology. One of those characters in particular is Annabeth. She’s the daughter of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and warcraft. I think the author did a very good job of portraying what a child of Athena would be like because he gave Annabeth a lot of the same skills and characteristics as her mother.
“Where’s the glory in repeating what others have done?” The answer to this question from Rick Riordan’s New York Times Bestseller, The Lightning thief, is simple, There is no glory. Riordan did what others hadn’t done, mixed ancient mythology with modern day life. Rick Riordan has many inspirations for his books, and lots of people who helped him make his books the best sellers they are. So as you learn about Riordan's process of creating his magical stories, remember how a bedtime story became a bestseller.
Percy Jackson is a twelve year old boy that lives in New York, in modern time. He has attended a few private schools for troubled students (Riordan 1). In fact, he describes himself as a “troubled kid” with dyslexia and ADHD (Riordan 7). Percy is used to being the loner of the group, after attending six schools in the past six years which probably means he doesn’t make many friends. (Schmoop). His classmates do not have a need to scramble for money.
