I have always seemed to come across books that I don’t necessarily agree with the decisions of the characters. Whether it is in a book of my choice, or a book that is assigned to me, I usually end up questioning all my life’s decisions. Or more often than not, I begin to pick apart each character, and try to look at situations from their perspective. However, I have yet to find a character that I completely agree with their all of their choices. Especially, in the book, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, I am constantly disagreeing with each character’s reactions. So, by the end, all chaos broke loose, but it could’ve been prevented through less radical actions. The Lord of the Flies revolves a large group of boys ranging from ages, 6-12 years old, but I would put myself in the plot, as the only girl. First off, the boys by the end reacted the way they did is because they lost touch with their true human morals, and instead became monsters. I would step in before anything would escalate. Throughout the book I noticed a lot of violent behavior due to the boys going crazy, and having no supervision. Such as, the children constantly beating up each other as a solution. I would from the start shut down any ideas of violence being the solution. It’s understandable that they fight, but am astonished that they can be so intense when they’re at most in 6th grade. Where is all this anger coming from? I viewed them to be proper, not psychotic. Also, I would clarify anything the boys have supposedly seen that was “monster”. A lot of the problems are because the boys believe there is a monster that is trying to kill them. When in fact, the “monster” is simply just a solider that unfortunately died …show more content…
They’re in elementary school, why are they so crazy? I wished they would’ve gotten get along, and stopped imagining things. Everything would’ve been more sane if I was there, stopping their nonsense from spinning out of
Within Lord of the Flies, we see firsthand the tendency toward violence and destruction that lies within humanity, and boys in particular. Without society, they fell apart. They committed atrocities that go against every rule, every social expectation, we see in humanity. Although Lord of the Flies shows important ideas about boys’ place in society, it also allows the reader to form unrealistic views on ideas such as death, violence, and conflict.
In the story “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding, he shows how the boys lost all innocence and civilization. The boys went from having innocent child minds to taking lives of other people, acting savage, and losing all civilization due to problems on the island. The boys had forgotten where they came from and became savage in order to survive; it was the need of survival that caused the loss of innocence among the boys.
In the novel, "Lord of the Flies," a group of British boys are left on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. Throughout the novel, they have conflicts between civilization and savagery, good vs. evil, order vs. chaos, and reason vs. impulse. What would it be like if the boys were replaced by a group of girls? Would they behave the same way they did in the novel? I believe that the girls would act in the same behavior as the boys in all ways because, everyone is installed with evil inside them which is their natural instinct, also because in life there is always a power struggle in all manners, and the outcome with the girls would be similar-since both sexes would plan on getting rescued.
William Golding, author of the classic novel, Lord of the Flies, had a number of life experiences that impacted his view of the world and led to the creation of his book. The most prominent experience he has had might of been his time spent in the Royal Navy, which revealed a darkness in himself and his writing. This darkness was portrayed by the beast by aspects of War, Fear, and Savagery.

Lord Of The Flies is a story about these kids stranded on a island in the Pacific
In the story “Lord of the flies” by William Golding a group of prepubescent boys are brought to by a plane crash. These boys explore their new setting and begin to rebel as they find out that there are no parents on the island. One of the most significant characters is a boy named Jack. Golding emphasizes the change in Jack's character to show how conformed citizens who know right and wrong can control their savage nature; however, once these societal rules are completely lost to Jack, this demonstrates that man’s nature is evil.
William Golding’s masterful use of symbolism is exemplified in his book Lord of the Flies, in which he uses masks to represent . These masks come in many forms, and by careful study of events throughout Golding’s novel, one discovers their significance. Physical masks are used by many characters such as Jack and Piggy, and they are perhaps the least ambiguous forms found in the book. The idea of a mask encompasses more than just these literal interpretations, however. Metaphorical masks are used in abundance throughout the book, and much can be revealed about the characters based on how or if they chose to wear their masks. The significance of these masks is also tied closely to the theme stating Man’s heart is evil.
“In absence of orders, go find something and kill it” Erwin Rommel world war II 7th panzer division general. It doesn’t seem to have much to do with lord of the flies but it does. When these boys are in left alone they start fighting and pick sides. In the Second World War people picked sides. These boys go into a small war of their own and it is brutal and has one evil over powering faction in this book the history’s most notorious generals, leaders, and even dictators are represented by these boys.
In the novel "The Lord of The Flies," the characters may seem odd, crazy non-disciplined boys who are just stranded on an island but it's much deeper than that. The main characters show how people act in today’s society. Ralph who is the leader may make good decisions but throughout the story he loses himself , Jack is always the one who disobeys but in reality he reminisces the leader of a military , always ready to strike war over the simplest misconceptions. Simon is almost godly like because he tends to know how to help in certain situations. These 3 boy's personalities is what makes the novel interesting and in depth of society’s in different generation eras, whether old or young.

In the book, “Lord of the Flies” written by William Golding, British novelist, playwright, and poet is a story about a group of boys who become trapped on an island and do not know how to persevere. During the story, there are many characters who play an important role in the events that happen. Such as, Ralph, Jack, and the officer who comes to the boy’s rescue. When Ralph becomes the leader, he leads heroically and takes care of everyone. But Jack decides he wants to be the leader and causes many problems for Ralph and Piggy. Also the officer who was a savior to Ralph and the rest of the boys. Still, I can honestly relate to this story and the happenings of the boys.
The novel, Lord of the Flies, is full of chaos and disorder throughout the child run civilization and society the boys create. The causes of the conflicts in the novel are caused by numerous different situations, including the characters and events that take place. The society had been created under pressure and stress due to the characters being stranded on an island alone with no adult supervision or help. Because of this, the society was not managed the way it should have been governed. The characters were not always violent ones but as soon as their innocence was lost nothing or no one could stop them from such a violent lifestyle on the island. The boys were easily influenced by others and their
“Isolation is a dream killer” (Barbara Sher). In the novel Lord of the Flies written by William Golding, kids stranded on an island must figure out how to survive. By hunting pigs and building shelters the kids tried to subsist on the island. Through the process of hunting, the kids became cruel, evolving to the point of being barbaric. Thus, through the barbaric actions of the boys and the outside world, Golding shows that savagery exists in all people.
In this world we have laws. It keeps us humans in check, and stops us from doing evil things. Some of us may wonder from time to time what it may be like without a form of order keeping us in check. For most with a conscience we believe that even without the laws we would still be moral beings, and do what is right. However, without a moral compass and external forces enforcing morals and laws, many of us would slide down a path of corruption. In the book I read, The Lord of the Flies written by William Golding, that is precisely what happens to a young boy when he, and other boys become stranded on an island and must fend for themselves.
