Art is different for each individual. There are those who believe that art only includes high class paintings made by people from high social order like Michelangelo or Francisco Goya. There are also those who believe anything can be considered art, not just paintings but songs, movies, and even video games. But while everybody has different opinions what art can be, everyone understands that art has some meaning behind it. On this passage below, I will be demonstrating the meaning behind “Fate Apocrypha” poster from A-1 Pictures. A-1 Pictures is an entertainment company that animates stories from light novels to manga. While they do not actually create stories themselves, the publish stories that can have a light hearted theme to emotional themes. Since they publish numerous stories per year, they strive to have each story be as developed and lucid as possible. Their ultimate goal in doing all of this is to attract a huge number of audiences to their shows in hopes of increasing sales and views. A-1 Pictures created this poster in order to attract people who are interested in watching genres that are the action-fantasy. To be able to portray the action genre, the background is drawn that displayed some sort of conflict. The background displayed a dead tree, ashes, burning building, and embers flying around. The dead tree signified that the land itself was dying. The burning buildings signify the destruction of humanity. The ashes are covering most of the poster which gives the idea that the land has been burning for a long time. With all the destruction on the background, the main focus of the poster is the picture of two determined and strong looking characters. Since the characters looks determined and strong while there is chaos all around them, the audience can tell that the story will not be focused on the hardships of war but on the fights that happen in battle. To portray the fantasy portion of the story, the two characters are wearing completely different clothing. The male character seems to be wearing a suit and vest which is common to the present day era, while the female character is wearing armor which was common to the medieval era. This indicates that the genre is fantasy because 2 people
Artists try to portray their views of human ideas, cultures, and lifestyles through their art. Art is defined as “the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.” Each artist has their own style due to the fact each person sees everything in their own way.
What is art? It is a way to express an individual 's personal reflections and thoughts. It is a calming remedy; it is a way to suppress secrets, emotions, and desires within an individual 's mind. The Child’s Bath, by Mary Cassatt, is one such painting that brings you to experience the powerful emotion of a mother’s love.
When you go to an art show do you understand the symbolic interpretation of the pieces? Don’t feel bad, most people don’t. What’s so upsetting about that is that you really miss out on the experience. When I think about interpretation of art I think of Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol’s use of iconography changed not only the art world but the people who came into contact with his art. Once you understand his life and art, you will understand his art as a symbolic representation.
The purpose of art and even the very definition of art has been a hotly debated topic since the first man depicted animals on cave walls. Through the centuries, pieces of artistic endeavors have been produced, intended with both public and private audience. Ancient pharaohs and emperors had a very specific purpose, which varied greatly from a simple collector of aesthetically pleasing objects. The viewer of the art is ultimately the one who decided what the piece means, if anything, and with that, how they will receive it. They chose to internalize the message or merely take it at face value. By looking at the way the audience of an art piece, one can gain a better understanding of the society as a whole. Taking that response and matching it
What is art? Can it be defined in any single painting, or sculpture? Is it even something that can be seen, or does it have to be experienced? The term "art" is so vague that it can be applied to almost anything, really. Mostly, however, art should be that which frees our imagination. It connects our conscious with our subconscious, putting into a visual form what we feel and think. It allows us to explore our inner self and fill that urge to understand our minds and our universe. Art helps us to see beyond the ordinary, to see what is in our hearts without being blinded by reality. When an artist creates a painting, it is not to create a picture; it is to create a feeling or mood. The purpose is to convey an emotion, and, it is
The Disney PIXAR Brave (2012) creates the animated film poster to form a possible adventurous quest featuring the fiery nature teen attracting the audience in view of the intense and mysterious contents. Examining the organized positioning, vivid use of color, symbolism, and text promoting to viewers a glance of the determined battle to ”Change Your Fate” and experience the action fought customs for an tremendous outcome.
One definition that has been strongly attached to art during current years has been that of Tolstoy, in which complicated masterpieces, worth thousands of dollars are only created and appreciated for the purpose of communicating an idea to an elite group. For those that are not part of this elite group, it becomes really hard to understand how art moved from being one of the most basic forms of communication to a complicated cognitive process where only a specific group of people are exposed to it and are able to comprehend a message cohesive in it. For these people outside of this elite group and which are not in accordance with the current definition, art is defined by how Susan Langer defines it. A practice of creating perceptible forms of expressing or communicate human feelings which have been part of us and not just for the use of a narrow group since our earliest times. One popular evidence for this definition are the prints on rocks and stones scattered across several continents made by tribes of Neanderthals in an effort to communicate with other tribes. Old songs, relics, and monuments from ancient times are some of the other forms art has also evolved and helped us to communicate. It is this constant evolution and discovery of new forms of art that transforms the mentality and
What is art? Art is mixtures of different mediums put together, for example netting in Janet Echelon’s Her secret is patient, or using chocolate to create a sculpture. Art isn’t just a painting or drawing, it is the projection one’s creativity and ideas to the public. Art is emotions cast by individuals. Art isn’t one idea. Art is everlasting, and will be constantly changing from period to period. There isn't one time or place that did not encounter art throughout history. Art isn’t right or wrong, it is completely up to the individual. Art is different intensities, some may have bold a hue, while others have a dulled one. These are some of the qualities that art does or does not posses.
The colors thrown on a canvas or any art piece can brighten ones day. Moreover, art is a way to express oneself, which can be done my laying it out on a paper, board, or a canvas. Art makes one creative by enhancing their art skills and knowledge on art. After sitting through three art classes of Renaissance and Modern Art, I am fascinated with the art pieces presented to us in class. I’ve seen similar art works like the ones shown in class, but I never really focused on what the pieces of art convey. There was this one painting presented to us where Gabriel was in Mary’s room while Mary was reading a book. I would have never assumed or guessed that Gabriel was there to tell Mary she will be the mother of Christ. Therefore, art also consists of history and real life events, which can broaden ones
Most artist art work reflects the artist’s inner self, their feelings and thoughts about the world around them. Art is a way for artists to let whatever is in, out. It is also a way for them to show his or her inner thoughts and feelings about something to the rest of the world. Whether it be Upton Sinclair showing the world the nastiness of the meat packing industry and the struggles of the low class immigrants of America through his book The Jungle or how Taylor
Whether it be writers, painters, sculptors, musicians, or photographers, artists all over the world have striven to show people their views of the world, of people, and even of the universe itself. Throughout history the creative urge of man to present to fellow men a different perspective or representation of life-or even the afterlife-has surfaced time and time again in the form of artwork. Sometimes it comes through genius and complexity, full of meaning and symbolism. Others, it is simple and void of any clear meaning at all other than that it is art. Soon, however, there became a point when the work of art was no longer something one could just look at and understand; the principle of the matter had
For every particular person arts have different meanings, for example the Titled Arc for a lot of people means an understood sculpture, ugly, without meaning etc… for another artist and some other persons was beautiful. So the meaning of the art is different for each persons and it depends for the education and type of life that they have. It is truth that some artist made his work of arts with meanings and some another have a story, but at the end each person will have a different perspective about the picture, and it depends of the meaning that the society gives to the art it is like the work of art would show.
As the viewer scans to the top of the poster, there will be a figure that looks as if it is fading away because of the blur from the dark clouds. This figure is standing behind a podium, and has a helmet with horns coming out of from the top. At the uppermost portion of this poster, appears of a close up image of a face whose, and the image of the face is positioned downward with a very demanding facial expression on. The viewers may notice that this man has pointed ears. To the right of the face, stands a man with shoulder length, brown hair who appears to be laughing at something in the distance. Behind him, a dark blue tower looks as if it has sprung out of from the ground. Next, one will notice bright orange balls of fire shooting out of the sky, and the balls of fire come across as if they are shooting from the tower. Finally, at the bottom of the poster, there is a clique of tiny figures that look similar to the man with the pointed ears located at the top left corner of the movie poster. Some of the figures in the group are wearing helmets with horns coming out of the top comparable to the character fading away because of the clouds that also has a helmet with horns that appears on the poster.
In regards to art being defined by having the ability to evoke emotions from an audience, it should be recognized that art can still be shaped by the values of today. Art isn’t a concrete concept and varies among person to person regarding the ways they see art, and how it is portrayed. Therefore, there is still a lot more to be learned about art and it’s meanings. Art in the form of literature, like Candide by Voltaire, written in the 17th and 18th century still holds implications and universal themes that can be seen in life in the 21st century. In relation to Candide itself, there are occurrences of the themes of negative impacts of greed, views on man-made philosophy, and the harms of oppression. All of these topics are prevalent in current society even though they may not be seen in the exact forms seen in the 18th century. Despite it being written to comment on the society of the Enlightenment era, it also transcends through multiple eras, as each student or person who reads it can take away a new interpretation of it. With the background of the culture and society one grows up in, different responses can add new emotion and meaning than originally intended and therefore develops a story beyond it’s literal meaning. Same can be said for other artworks of the past.
That are two kinds of people that exist when perceiving art; ones that view art and wonder what it is that the piece is trying to say and are then moved by the piece once they see what idea the piece is portraying, and the other kinds of people are ones that see art as asinine and simply walk past it without taking a second glance at it. After viewing a painting of Jesus, Dorothy Allison wrote that she,”took the notion that art should surprise and astonish, and hopefully make you think something you had not thought until you saw it.” Dorothy Allison is a person that views art and wonders what it is that the piece is trying to say and is then moved by the piece because of the message it is portraying. This is exactly what art should do and should be perceived with great attention. The reason for art is to tell a story. In cavemen days, it began as a method for storytelling, using visuals that cavemen would draw such as pictures of them hunting, fishing, and etc. Art is something that should be astonishing and surprising, and bring forth enlightenment about a certain subject or influence the way you view that subject matter after viewing a piece of art. Art without meaning is like a beautiful woman with no brains or heart, she could look as gorgeous as humanly possible, but without her having a purpose to her life or morals in that woman’s heart, she will
