Friar Lawrence was most responsible for Juliet’s death in Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet.” Friar Lawrence was the mastermind behind the plan to get Romeo and Juliet back together which resulted in Juliet dying. His plan allowed Juliet to run away with Romeo and not marry Paris. First, Juliet had to agree to marry Paris. The night before her wedding, Juliet was instructed to drink a sleeping potion that will make her seem dead.
