Every year The National Organization for Women holds a variety of different conferences and attends political meetings. These meeting consist of speeches, debates ,and a variety of other activities. At these assemblies NOW mainly focuses on motivating women who have not already become a part of NOWs community, recognize women for their honorable contribution to NOW’s history, and to thank the many sponsors of NOW. Supporters for NOW can be found in all fifty states along with the District of Columbia. NOW also has five hundred branches located in America(“Foundation”). The National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest feminist activists’ interest group of United States that seeks to protect the individual rights of women. The influential success of NOW can be understood through following factors. Its’ concrete background; nearly half century worth of history as foundation; well structured organization; membership incentives; the function and approach of NOW/PAC and NEP; up to date Statement of Purpose; high priority to key issues that benefits society as a whole; and lastly the services that NOW provides on the global scale.

National American Woman Suffrage Association was created by the National Woman Suffrage Association and the American Woman Suffrage Association. They covered many issues, but one of their main focuses was trying to gain women the right to vote. This came at many difficulties and some of them never witnessed their success. Life for women especially would not be the same without this reform. In 1886 Samuel Gompers and a few others created the American Federation of Labor. This reform tried to get higher wages for workers along with better working conditions. Without the workers would not get treated as well as they do today and life would be very different. Executive Order 11478, signed in 1969, brought the FWP into the overall Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program and placed it under the stewardship of the Director of EEO.” This program is to ensure that women receive equal treatment in all areas of the workplace. Also, they providing counseling and promoting leadership in the workplace as well.

The National Organization for Women (NOW), a feminist organization, was formed in Washington, D.C. on June 30, 1966 (National Organization for Women [NOW], n.d.). It was established by twenty-eight women and led by Betty Friedan (NOW, n.d.). This group was created due to the discrimination and unfair treatment that women were facing as they moved from work in the home to public employment. NOW work to bring equality for women and “focuses on a broad range of women’s rights, including economic justice, pay equity, racial discrimination, women’s health and body image, women with disabilities, reproductive rights and justice, family law, marriage and family formation rights…” (NOW, n.d.). One organization in particular has made a huge impact on Women's Rights, The National Organization for Women. "We have so much to learn from each other; but, more importantly, the world's policymakers need more and better information about women's lives that is informed by women themselves." The National Organization for Women was founded in 1966. Betty Friedan was the first elected president of the NOW. The NOW has made essential progress or women, they rose awareness to the fact that women were not treated equally to men. The NOW also laid out the main issues for women's equality; education, employment, political participation, family life, media, and domestic violence. The national Organization for Women's motto, or purpose is "to take action" to achieve the equality of women. The first NOW convention was in 1967, after the founding conference. The NOW decided to focus on the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and getting it passed. Without this amendment women would not be able to make broad steps in future. They have had their hand in nearly every women's rights issue, from helping get Shirley Chisholm elected to the House of Representatives in 1968, the first black woman to do so, to getting the House to pass the Equal Rights Amendment with a vote of 350 to 15 in 1970. The National Women’s Party also known as N.W.P was an American Women’s organization formed in 1916 as an outgrowth of the congressional union which in turn was formed in 1913 by Alice Paul and Lucy Burns to fight women’s suffrage ignoring all other issues. These two women strongly felt that women all over the world need rights in general and that women did not get the same rights as men did. This was at a time when all the women could not vote but men could. At this time women cooked, cleaned and took care of the kids. That was what the men expected the women to do. These two women wanted these rights so they could feel that they could change something. They did change some things. Even though they eventually got their right to vote it did not mean these women voted. It was not the fact that they wanted to vote it that meant so much to them as the fact that they wanted and had the same rights as the men. The women’s voting rights were gained in Finland, Iceland, Sweden and some Australian colonies and western U.S. states in the late 19 century. National and International organizations formed to coordinate efforts to gain voting rights, especially the international women suffrage alliance founded in 1904, Berlin Germany also worked for equal civil rights for women. The main point in this article is to give information on how far the prolife movement has come since the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision. The Article gives you examples of the different accomplishments that the prolife group has gotten for example: The prolife movement won the midterm elections of 200, the NRLC won 64 of 82 races that was involved. The Prolife movement is defiantly on the right side of history.

The Women’s Liberation Movement greatly impacted Australia and the United States throughout the 60’s and 70’s carrying on to the 90’s. Without the Women’s Liberation Movement women wouldn’t have received changes in laws primarily regarding employment impacting on them moving forward in terms of equal opportunities. However there is still a there is still process to be made concerning employment and social roles for women to have equal rights as men. The Women’s Liberation Movement started in the 60’s during the second wave of feminism. Even though the 70’s were a time of change, both Australia and the United States saw women remaining in low status roles and staying primarily in the domestic sphere. The 90’s however saw a dramatic change in the amount of women employed and working more so in the domestic sphere.

     In the aftermath of World War II, the lives of the women have changed dramatically. Women spoke their minds out and wanted to be heard. World War II brought them a new outlook on how they should live their lives. It encouraged women organize social movements such as boycotts and public marches pushing for their human rights and protect them against discrimination. The International Alliance of Women (IAW) is an international non-governmental organization that works to promote women 's human rights around the world, focusing particularly on empowerment of women and development issues and more broadly on gender equality. The basic principle of the IAW is that the full and equal enjoyment of human rights is due to all women and girls. Founded in 1904 and based in Geneva, it is one of the oldest, largest and most influential organizations in its field. It’s comprised of forty-one member organizations involved in the advancement of the human rights of women and girls globally. The IAW has general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and is credited to many specialized UN agencies, has participatory status with the Council of Europe and is represented at the Arab League, the African Union and other international organizations.
