Both texts, the book and the movie were enjoyable as the main themes were relatable to teenagers, this let us as the viewer connect with the characters stories and personalities. However, both texts could be improved. With ‘The Outsiders,’ the story was very jumpy going from a climax straight down to a period of none action, this lead to some of the characters stories feeling like they weren't finished. Also with ‘Edward Scissorhands,’ some of the characters didn't portray their roles well enough so therefore, the casting choices could have been better which would have lead to a better movie overall. The text that I preferred would have to be ‘The Outsiders’ as the story was more interesting to me. This is because the climaxes in the story
I much preferred the movie version to the novel. For me, author William Kennedy’s style of writing is needlessly vague and difficult to follow, yet he did a wonderful job adapting
To begin, the first difference I observed between the book and movie is that the movie has a different opening scene than the book. The movie starts out with Ponyboy writing in a composition notebook on a page titled “The Outsiders.” In the book the beginning scene is Pony boy walking
In the Outsiders I think the actors played their roles correctly especially Tom Cruise who played Two bit. I felt like the they picked the best actors to play the roles of the characters from the book. The death scenes
First of all, you can always tell when something is missing from the movie, that you think is valuable to the plot of the story when you read the book first. Francis Ford Coppola directed The Outsiders movie and left out a few scene that I thought were necessary for instance Ponyboy’s flashback to Johnny’s beating. “Johnny was lying face down on the ground. Soad turned him over gently, and I nearly got sick. Someone had
I liked The Outsiders book/movie because it’s about a group of greasers that are more like family. They have a lot of struggles but get through them together. They compete with a rival gang called the Socs and it gets very intense. Personally I can’t chose which if the book or the movie is better because they both contribute different parts. This paper is about the differences from the book and movie with the characters, relations, and scenes.
I think the novel is better than the movie because in the movie they left some parts uncleared. Like for instances, in the novel at the beginning of the story the novel mentions about how a plane was around Jonas neighborhood and later they “released” the pilot for not going to the right direction. Though I believe the movie is not better than the novel but not worst than the novel also I think it’s down the middle in my own opinion. This because when I finished reading a book later I watched the movie as I watched the movie I always tried to remember what I read in the book to connect to the movie. So in other words when I remember a familiar passage from the book and see it in the movie it really fascinates me. So getting back to the point
The Outsider movie and book are both the same and different in many ways, but they are both good. They are good because they both go into detail about how it was back when their were greasers and socs. The reason it was made was to show that is didn't matter if you are a greaser or a soc but to show that everyone is different but they don't need to fight. “The Outsiders” was made to tell people about how everyone is not who you think they are and that people can change and do things for the better and how that if you get in arguments that the arguments don't have to become fights. There are a lot of people involved in “The Outsiders” the three main characters are Jhonny, Darry, and ponyboy. Ponyboy has two older brothers his oldest brother is Darrel his second oldest brother is sodapop, sodapop has a friend that is a greaser and he is two bit Mathews they both work at a gas station, the last greaser is steve randel. They are all a big group together and that group is called greasers because they slick their hair back with lots of grease.
“Outsiders” Compare and Contrast Essay In the ´Outsiders´ book, and movie they are both pretty sad. I watched both the book and the movie and they are reasonably similar. After watching and reading both they included a lot of differences too.
I would personal choose to read the book The Outsiders because you get more detail and can really feel how they feel. In the movie it's just not really as sad as when you read the book. Even if you don't like to read you still want to keep reading it because it's just so good. In the movie it just goes by way too fast because it just doesn’t show everything you hear about in the book.
According to Philip Emeagwali, “The hardships that I encountered in the past will help me succeed in the future.” In my own words this quote addresses that hardships creep around every corner and if you face them determinedly you will end up stronger in the future. This quote relates to the novel The Outsiders by informing people that tough moments in life are hard to overcome. Just like Ponyboy has to learn to overcome the death of his best friend, Johnny. The main theme that S.E. Hinton tries to convey through the novel is: hardships lurk wherever you let them. She implies that you should stay strong and courageous through tough times.
In the beginning of the story, I thought it was boring. However, throughout the story, I started to like it. I really liked the book The Outsiders because of the way it impacted me. It impacted me because of the theme of this story and how Ponyboy matured throughout the story.
Since you asked me about whether the The Outsiders book or movie is better, I have thought about it thoroughly. I have seen both and I like them both.
The "Outsiders" novel was more than interesting because it was more detailed. thought that S.E Hinton did an amazing job at making the details in the book stand out. She made the characters seem real, and visibly movable. I enjoyed Sandy's part in the novel. This part was not included in the movie which made me dislike it. I like the novel more, these are the reasons why.
But I didn’t just write The Outsiders, I lived it. Looking back, I realize how important it was to me to have another life at that time. To be someone else. To deal with the problems I had to face, and write my way to some sort of understanding and coping. This is all in hindsight. At the time, I was mad about the social situation in my high school. I desperately wanted something to read that dealt realistically with teen-age life.
This one book i can really relate to because of the things that happened throughout the story. There is many more reasons why this book made me reflect it to my real life deal. These are the reasons why i chose this book to reflect my life or the things that happened to the greasers. They learned many life lessons and so did I like the lessons they learned throughout the book . This was my reflection toward the book the Outsiders and how i can relate to their past
