The Outsiders Movie And Book Comparison

The outsiders book and movie are both dangerously amazing! They have a few differences but for the most part they're pretty similar.You may not think they're that different but they are in some ways.

The novel of The Outsiders is better than the movie. The novel gives more vivid details than the movie does. Even though the movie shows actual image, the novel lets you have your own image of what’s going on. The movie did not show the part where Ponyboy was getting jump. That is where most of the conflicts started. It also didn’t show the part where they were at the court, which is a really important part in The Outsiders. The feeling and tension are more intense in the novel than it is in the movie. Over all, the movie is not better than the novel.

The Outsiders book and movie were similar and different in many ways. An example of difference could be by how in the beginning the Ponyboy was jumped but in the movie they skipped right to when Johnny, Dally, and Ponyboy went to the movies. A similarity between them could be how in the movie and in the book both took place in Oklahoma. This evidence exemplifies the ways that the movie is related and the way that the movie contrasts from the book. Skipping the part when Ponyboy gets jumped and the setting in both the movie and the book taking in the same place are just some of the comparisons and contrasts between “The Outsiders” movie and the book.

The Outsiders was a book that was written by S. E. Hinton, which was then transferred into a movie directed by Francis Ford Coppla. So the main question is, did Francis Ford Coppla did a good job in translating S. E. Hinton’s book to a movie? My answer would be yes, but only around some parts of the movie. Like the 1st chapter of the book when Ponyboy got ambushed and when some parts were changed, I would of liked it better if it were to stay the same. In comparison to the book, the movie had a little less character development

The book and the movie of the Outsiders are two very different stories. The book has so much more detail then the movie. The movie is not the most detailed but it does get its point across. The Outsiders film and novel are both very unique and interesting in their own way they are also both somewhat very similar. But once I got done watching the movie I thought to myself and thought that they are both also very different in their own ways.

The book is better because it has more events than the movie. Watching “The Outsiders” movie, I was a little disappointed when certain events from the book weren’t in the movie. Ponyboy and Cherry didn’t talk about the sunsets very much in the movie. In the book, they talk about how they admire just sitting and watching the sunsets. Another event that wasn’t in the movie is when Pony and Two-Bit see Johnny’s mother at the hospital. I think that event is really important because it shows a little of what Johnny has gone through at home. However, some may say that the movie is better because it has all of the major events. But, even the less important events are still significant in some way.

The book and the film were both simular, and yet different in many ways. An example would be, in the film, Ponyboy was walking to the drive-in and meeting Cherri and Marcia. Although in the book, Ponyboy began his journey by telling the readers about his experience about being jumped by the Socs and being threatened. The director probably had some options to pick from to leave out from the movie, and the director chosed this to leave out. Leaving out the part where Ponyboy was jumped was an effective move because without the experience Ponyboy was lost and helpless because he did not know what to do when he and Johnny got cornered in the park by Bob and other Socs.
