English Essay
The Perfect Gift
A present doesn’t have to be big and extravagant. My ideal present would be something small, rectangular and made of paper. It’s an expensive gift, but it’s worth the money. How can a small piece of paper be so expensive? My perfect gift is a concert ticket to a Twenty One Pilots concert. This essay will include a description of my gift, why my gift is important to me and what I will do with my gift. I image myself in a giant, room filled with people laughing and conversing together. Then the light go out and the crowd in the room hushes. Lights shine onto the stage and the room goes form being silent to a loud roar, so loud I can’t hear myself think. Then Tyler Joseph, the singer for Twenty One Pilots runs out

Their music means so much to me. I can related to it really well and it is the kind of music that you can listen to and really feel it in your heart. I would love to hear them preform my favorite songs live and be able to sing along to them. They’re music has helped me through some hard times in my life, so listening to them preforming the songs live with so much emotion is something that will stick in my mind forever.
There isn’t much you can do with concert tickets besides give them to the person who is taking the tickets before the show, but I will cherish this gift for the rest of my life. That is what I will do with my gift. It is such an amazing thing to go and see your favorite band live. I will keep the ticket from the concert and put it with the rest of my favorite movie tickets and theatrical shows that I have seen. I will watch the videos of the concert over and over again wanting to go back to that night.
This paper has included a description of the concert, why my gift is important to me and what I will do with my gift. My gift wouldn’t just be something physical. It would be an experience. It would be something that I would remember for the rest of my life and I think that is what a perfect present should
Many diehard fans will come from across the country just hoping to see one show. Many fans don’t even have tickets and are hoping that they will get one when arriving to the show. Some fans will drive extensive hours, hitch-hike, and even ride bikes across states to be a part of the atmosphere at a Phish concert.
For this concert report I chose to go to a performance of student composers held at the Kimball Recital Hall. I chose this one because I wanted to see some of the talent that my peers have in the music realm, and also it was one of the only concerts I have been able to attend because I usually work at night. It was impressive to hear pieces composed by students. I cannot imagine creating something as complex as a musical composition, much less actually performing it, so this aspect of the concert was particularly awe-inspiring. There was a large attendance, and I think that much of the audience consisted of friends of the composers and/or performers. I went with three friends, who I convinced by telling it would be interesting to see
There’s no better feeling than being at a concert and jamming along to songs that you love while surrounded by people who share the same love for the music. Music concerts are majestic environments where a variety of different people come together in order to share their love of music. A few weeks ago I attended a Zac Brown Band concert for the first time and I was truly inspired by the band’s artistry and skill. The band was fully able to captivate their audience with their soulful tunes and obvious passion for performing. One moment of the concert that particularly stood out to me was when the band performed a cover of The Beatles hit song “Let it Be.” Zac Brown Band was able to stay true to the original song while bringing a whole different level of soul to the music through the addition of a gospel choir. The audience immediately related to the song and came together to sing along to a song by one of the biggest bands in music history. Zac Brown Band was able to successfully deliver such a powerful song as “Let it Be” which was off of The Beatles final studio album.
Have you seen those weird music festival T-shirts that people wear and wonder what someone could possibly want to wear that for? While they’re sometimes meant to catch attention of people so they may want to look up the festival, it also serves as a reminder for many amazing memories for the two or three-day event. For a long time now music has changed people’s lives in many ways. It has brought people to fame and lifted many out of depressions. But, to those who haven’t experienced a festival, or even live music in general, you have been missing out an amazing social experience like no other. From the kings of festivals like Woodstock or Coachella to the lesser known ones like Rock on the Range (Hard rock/metal based) and Day for Night (variety) there are hundreds to pick from. One of my favorites is Carolina Rebellion which takes place right in this state.
Organizing all the crucial details such as the date, time, venue, food, and music became very overwhelming. One week prior to the event, the concert venue suddenly became unavailable. After searching for alternatives, and talking with the
I myself am very dedicated to music and I love to play the piano and learn and play all types of music. I remember when I was a little girl I would sneak out of classes and go to the music room where there was a piano and just play all of her music. For me, it was a way to get away from everything I was going through. Her music was deep and had meaning to every single word in the lyrics. To me, that was all I needed. I would do research on her and see what she would be doing and her interests and we were just interested in the same kinds of things. She was and always will be my biggest idols. When I was younger, I always longed to go to her concert and sit in the audience and just feel her music in me. By freshman year, I finally got tickets to see her and it was the most amazing experience ever. It meant so much to me that I was actually in tears while she was singing live and it felt so perfect. A few years later, my senior year, I went to go see her again. And this time it was an even better feeling. Her drive and determination to help anyone in her path is what touches me and makes me want to do the same things for my community and everyone around me.
The concert I attended was called the Faculty and Student Recital, which took place in the Cisco Auditorium on April 11, 2017. The music that was on the program was mostly what is called “classical” music, as well as a Chinese Folk Song, an electronic composition, and variations on an Indian Tala. In the classical pieces, the instruments that were used were the violin, the piano, the cello, and the oboe. In the electronic composition, the computer was used to make music. In the Chinese Folk Song, the piccolo was used to imitate the unique timbre of a Chinese flute. In the Indian tala, drums from Ghana were used to imitate the rhythm and sound of Indian drums. The piano, the violin, the cello, and the piccolo all originate
I pictured someone thinking back to memories of their youth now that they are elderly.
Twenty One Pilots is an alternative hip hop band originated from Columbus, Ohio. The band consists of duo Tyler Joseph as the lead singer, and Joshua Dunn as the drummer. The band formed in 2009 and they have two self-released albums. They got their first big break in 2015 when their song “Stressed Out” hit number one on Billboard. The band has a very large fan base and it still continues to grow. Twenty One Pilots came to the Zoo Amphitheater in Oklahoma City on July 9, 2016. I went to their previous concert in Oklahoma City in October of 2015 and absolutely loved it. So my expectations for their 2016 concert were very high and they were not let down.
The band has sold over 75 million records worldwide. This proves that they were one of the best-selling music artists in history and since the band’s breakup, they are often considered as one of the greatest artists of all time. Two live and two studio albums have also reached the number one place on the Billboard 200 chart.
Every single person in the crowd absolutely loses their mind. The show goes on, song after song, intro after intro, and for the entire duration, I am completely absorbed. Everything and anything going on in my life outside of that venue ceases to exist for those few hours that never seem to last long enough. Music has always been my escape.

My first concert experience turned out to be very different from what I expected. Even though I would not choose to listen to classical music normally, the concert has made me enjoy this type of music more and made me think about how much more there is to music than just lyrics and a
On Sunday, May10 2015, a concert was held in The Broad Stage. The concert was played by Santa Monica College Symphony Orchestra, whose conductor is Dr. James Martin. For this concert, I would identify myself as a referential listener at this concert. I say this because I am not an expert in music, therefore it would be hard for me to be a critical listener. I wouldn’t be able to tell what went wrong with a performance even if some incorrect notes were played. I was more of a referential listener because the music was soothing and brought my mind to peaceful thoughts. This essay will tells my experience of the concert in order to persuade my friend to attend a classical music concert with you in the future.
Concerts contain so many sensations. The white chairs being put away, the stage getting placed back on the big black trailer piece by piece, and the quiet shuffles of the last feet leave the stadium; the stadium transforms into the purple and white stadium it once was, leaving no
