The Philadelphia 76ers are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference once again. With a 18-31 record the Sixers are destined for the lottery again. However, there is a different feeling around Sixers nation. It’s a feeling that hasn't been felt since the days of Allen Iverson. It’s a feeling of hope, promise, and excitement. Let’s dig a little further. Sixers are much better than last year The Sixers are still at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, but they are doing better than the Brooklyn Nets, so it’s always good to know they are not the worst. 18-31 is a bad record, but the Sixers already have a better record than they did the entire 2015-2016 season (10 wins) and are one game behind their 2014-15 season (18 wins). People are beginning to believe in the process and many believe that the Sixers have a great future. But it’s mostly been because of this man. Joel Embiid and young talent …show more content…
He is only averaging 9.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, but the energy he gives the Sixers cannot be determined by numbers. Saric and Embiid are having great rookie seasons that are making players like TJ McConnell and Robert Covington play better. Sixers have a lottery pick With the Sixers most likely not making the playoffs and also having the Lakers pick (outside of top 5), the Sixers are destined to add another piece of young talent to the mix of great players they have already. The 2017 NBA Draft looks like it will be a good one and Sixers fans are excited about adding another player to a team that is filled with great young talent. With the Sixers improving, Joel Embiid playing well, the idea of Ben Simmons playing with Embiid, and the Sixers having a chance to get more talent, it feels absolutely great to be a Sixers fan. The team will only get better and we are finally beginning to see signs of that. Sixers fans have a lot to be excited about as they will be a great team in the near
I preferred the Sixers come out of the draft with a guard with the potential of D'Angelo Russell or even Mario Hezonja
The biggest X-factor for the Sixers is second year big man Joel Embiid. Embiid is one of the rare players that has the distinct possibility of being out of the league or a top 10 player in the NBA five years from now. After missing his entire rookie season with a foot injury, Embiid will be forced to miss another season after aggravating his foot. It would be a big boost for the Sixers future if Embiid could come back and avoid being labeled the next Greg Oden. Despite not having Embiid’s services this season, the 76ers will still have two very talented young big men in Jahlil
According to ESPN, the 55-year-old Brown, who was the Australia’s NBL Coach of the Year winner in 1994, said the Sixers have not decided yet who they
Ty Lawson: Lawson is another point guard the Kings have been linked to. Unlike Rondo, Lawson is under contract. To get Lawson the Kings would have to execute a trade with the Nuggets. Lawson has suggested over media that he wants out of Denver and would welcome playing in Sacramento. The Nuggets drafting Emmanuel Mudiay already gives them a replacement for Lawson. In addition Lawson was a favorite of Kings coach George Karl during their time together in Denver. A trade for Lawson would require a package from the Kings that might include Darren Collison and at least one of the two of Nik Stauskas and Ben
rs selected outside of the lottery during an NBA draft tend to have a bit more leeway in terms of their rate of development and what's expected of them during their rookie campaigns.
The Trailblazers are coming off of a season in which they immensely exceeded expectations, so much so, this year the Trailblazers are a darling dark horse team among many experts (including my-self).
As the Boston Celtics kick it into high gear in order to assure they earn themselves a spot in the playoffs, the New York Knicks and President Phil Jackson are resolved to putting this past season behind them. With that decision comes the news that the Knicks are taking a serious look at the upcoming free agent market.
Durant’s move to the Bay Area leaves a lot of questions. What will become of the Thunder? How will the team fare next season in the competitive Western Conference? To better answer those questions, let’s first break down what assets the Thunder have heading into a post-KD era.
The curious case of the Clippers continues to riddle the NBA. Los Angeles has been beset with injuries, controversy, and rumors. Namely those associated with their franchise face, Blake Griffin.
This season, all eyes will be on the Philadelphia 76ers to see if they can take that next step towards a potential playoff berth. In offseason, the team signed both sharpshooter J.J. Redick and big man Amir Johnson to one-year deals in free agency to pair with the youth movement led by center Joel Embiid.
Derrick Rose, I believe will be traded prior to the deadline this season. The Knicks will see what they can get and ship him off. Of course the list of teams who would want a guy like Rose are small, Orlando, Philly, Sacramento come to mind. Those few teams could look for the scoring Rose can give you at the guard position.
First up, Matthew Dellavedova. The point guard rose to stardom in the NBA finals and may be seeking a premium deal. The Cavs intend to make an offer to the restricted free agent, but it shouldn’t be more than what a backup is worth. Dellavedova has limited value and he proved that in the playoffs.
The 26-year-old shooting guard only averages 5.8 points, 1.7 assist and 3.8 rebounds per game last season. Although he makes some great contribution to Cavs' title last NBA season, they are still not content with his performance.
Despite all of the pessimism in my mind, there’s something in me that gets a thrill with moves like these. I guess the years of horrendous trades like when we gave up a first rounder for Andrea Bargnani or when we sold the farm for Carmelo Anthony, a guy who would be a free agent about 6 months after the date the deal was initiated, has failed to learn me of these past mistakes.
The team made small moves in the offseason, bringing in a couple of cheap young veterans that can help the team in a supporting role. I think there’s one guy that can potentially have the biggest impact for the team this year. I think Andrea Bargnani is going to have a monster year for the Nets.
