John Updike's "A & P" and James Joyce's "Araby" are very similar. The theme of the two stories is about a young man who is interested in figuring out the difference between reality and the fantasies of romance that play in his head and of the mistaken thoughts each has about their world, the girls, and themselves. One of the main similarities between the two stories is the fact that the main character has built up unrealistic expectations of women. Both characters have focused upon one girl which they place all their affection. Both Sammy and the boy suffer rejection in the end. Both stories also dive into the unstable mind of a young man who is faced with one of life's most difficult lessons. Their
Shabanu's life is similar to life of many in our culture today because of what is expected of her. In Shabanu's culture they are taught many of the same values taught in our culture, respect, loyalty, honesty, and fortitude. She is expected to work for what she wants and not everything is handed to her. Along the same lines her parents also discipline her so that she does what is expected of her. If she talks back she gets beaten, maybe we don't get beatings for doing wrong but we are disciplined so we learn to have all of the qualities important in society.

The film opened with Mona doing a model shoot. She was listening to her demanding white photographer ordering her to have more provocative looks. This Mona, has conformed into the white supremacy, adapting preconscious beliefs, abstract to black culture, and stubborn towards black ideas. Mona had no connection to her inner being and had little insight on who she really was. While continuing to capture photos, Mona and her photographer decides to capture near the Fortress. She becomes distracted by a drummer who leads her inside of the Fortress. Mona is now suddenly locked in a dark room. When she does find light, she noticed that she is surrounded by other Africans who were bound and shackled

Ashoka was said to be one of the greatest rulers in India. Ashoka conquered a lot of land including the empire of Kalinga. After winning the war to claim Kalinga, Ashoka road his horse and looked out at the bloody battle, he then was filled with horror at the sight of war, and swore to give up violence and wars from then on, (BGE, Frey 161). But was King Ashoka a ruthless conqueror, or an Enlightened Ruler? Ashoka was an enlightened because of how he gives up violence and how he encouraged Buddhism.
As a future educator, it will be my job to continue acknowledging, valuing and teaching Indigenous origins, histories and cultures using the Australian Institute for Teaching and School (AITSL) standard 2.4 and the Australian Curriculum. This will give my future students a better understanding that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were the first custodians of our Australian land and of their origins. They lived in Australia 60,000 years before the British settled in 1788. I will teach an Australian historical time line prior to 1788.
Nelson is perched on the shores of Kootenay Lake and offers a wide-range of world class recreational activities. The stunning geography and outdoor activities, however, are only part of Nelson’s overall charm. The community still holds true to its silver mining roots as is evident with its impressive selection of over 350 restored heritage buildings and many of these unique buildings make up the bustling downtown core of the city.
The Graduate is a great example of a film where lens and camera choices were used effectively to convey the director’s point of view. It seemed like every choice made by the director Mike Nichols director and the director of cinematography Bob Surtees was justified. The outcome of each shot played an important role in shaping the message of the film. The cinematography of Bob Surtees is very complicated and thoughtful but at the same time seems poetic and spontaneous.

The Question of Origin - The question of origin is entirely rooted in God. Genesis 1:1 tells us about the creation of the earth and the heavens. Genesis 1:27 tells us that God created man in His own image. “Theism contends that everything that exists, including humans, is the result of God, the Creator God. God is said to have created Ex Nihilo, “out of nothing.”’ (Weider & Gutierrez, 2011) Like the Bible, the Quran offers verses which state that everything was created by God.

Eid Al-Adha, an Arabic term meaning “the feast of sacrifice”, is one of the prominent and holy days of Islamic celebration that takes place annually. Eid Al-Adha celebration begins after the leaving of the pilgrims performing the Hajj the Mount Arafat, a hill east of Mecca. All Muslims around the world celebrate Eid Al-Adha to show respect to the willingness of Abraham, the Muslims’ prophet. In Afghanistan, Muslims celebrate Eid Al-Adha in various ways. Mostly, their customs and traditions are based on three performances through all the Eid days; that is, Morning Prayer, Family and Relatives Eid greetings. Each of the above performances has its own special way and time to be performed. The examples show that in addition to having dependency and faith to Islamic customs, Afghanistan has its own special independent tradition of the celebrating Eid Al-Adha.
