History over the years has taught us of many different ways on how to control or punish people who don’t follow the rules and laws imposed by society and courts. These are adopted by society to establish behavior standards. Whether some of them are effective or not, these must be respected in order to not fall into a severe punishment like the death penalty. However; For serious acts of crimes it’s not looking like a horrible idea considering what these monsters are doing. The children can learn from the death penalty, Corporal punishment helps make children obedient, respectful, and polite. In the absence of corporal punishment, children will likely go wild.
Most death penalty cases involve the execution of murderers although capital punishment can also be applied for treason, espionage, and other crimes. The death penalty gives justice to the murder victim’s families, it also brings relief because now they can rest without worry knowing that the killer is dead. The death penalty should be utilized for the serious crimes (Jost 2). The Death penalty can be useful because by killing off the criminals the jail space can be decreased because it's not holding barbaric animals. The criminals are just waste of life pieces of trash that need to put into the incinerator. These facts make it evident that the death penalty is greatly needed.
¨ The united states retains the death penalty for cases of murder death sentences, executions of the population on death row have been declared
The death penalty is the only suitable punishment for murderers. The death penalty insures that criminals know that if they kill they will be killed, and they are going to receive a harsh punishment. Also it could be cheaper than sentencing a prisoner to life in prison. People feel that the death penalty is too harsh of a punishment. Which that would be a harsh punishment but they took another human's life. So they need to have a harsh punishment so people know they can not get away with murder. The death penalty insures that a murderer won’t kill again.
The death penalty is supposed to deter murder and bring the justice that the murder families of the victims should be rewarded (Hyden). Although many scientific researches can conclude that it does not deter murder and the members of the murder victims’ family have rejected/rejecting the program because it retraumatizes them with long process of trials, appeals, and of course the media (Hyden). In contrast, a sentence of life in prison is certain and instant, allowing the families to move on knowing that the justice of the crime is being served. Comparing whether or not the death penalty should be legalized, the reasons as to why it shouldn’t be, are strong enough to change one person’s mind. The death penalty still should be illegal in the United States.
It could even teach them a lesson. But there is no positive outcomes that come from spanking. Spanking your children leads to depression, bad behavior, and it doesn’t improve their behavior; therefore you should not spank your kids.
The first established death penalty laws date back to Ancient Babylon. Their tyrannical ruler Hammurabi established The code of Hammurabi most known to the laws an “eye for an eye and “tooth for a tooth”. Throughout the past this was the correct way of life, on the other hand the question is risen today, is the death penalty still reasonable? Coming to the question of bringing what makes our system better if we kill those who kill? The very idea of the state putting individuals to death is too much to endure. Capital punishment brings no benefits, undermining the constitution for reasons such as flawed executions, racism, innocents being framed, bias, revenge cost, and other critical reasoning. It is not only impractical, but it also does not prevent crime. Death row fails to recognize that people who are found guilty throughout the system have the potential to change, but how can they do that if they are denied the right to regain redemption in society. Nevertheless, the Death penalty should be eradicated based on the unlawful justice and its incapability to serve as a deterrent.
Capital punishment can be a tough topic to approach because people tend to have many different opinions on it. The death penalty is an advantage to society; it deters potential criminals as well as serves retribution to criminals. There is a huge difference in expenses of a lethal injection and life in prison. The death penalty can be an extremely beneficial tool in sentencing criminals that have committed some of the worst crimes known to
As Cass R states… “Capital punishment may be morally required, not for retributive reasons, but rather to prevent the taking of innocent lives”. Death penalty is one of those extreme punishments that would create fear in the mind of any person. If murderers are sentenced to death and executed, potential murderers will think twice before killing for fear of losing their own life.
Death penalty is a just punishment for crimes committed against the rights of life, freedom and safety of victims. Some people are of the opinion that death should be only being justified with death; this gives the idea that the perpetrator of a crime should be
The death penalty is commonly used when people are convicted of things like espionage, treason, murder, and death resulting from aircraft hijacking. Though it has been seen as a negative, immoral act, it is a way to get rid of a person who has a huge negative impact on society. It is only used in the most severe cases. People like Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the Boston Bomber, received the death penalty because of his act of terrorism. He had killed 3 people and injured many others. The death penalty is justified because the punishment fits the crime itself. By putting someone just in jail who murdered someone previously, it does not compare strongly enough. By using the death penalty, it keeps the convict from ever committing the same crime again, which would be of chance if the convict was only put in jail.
Spanking a four-year old causing trouble leads to more trouble so why hit him, it only causes them to act up, but alternatives to spanking can be used upon a child to get them to behave. “The right of parents to physically discipline their children is ingrained in American culture and recognized in our laws” (Blum 921), but a toddler doesn’t need harsh physical discipline to learn the difference between right and wrong, it doesn’t need to be spanked because they are doing something they are not supposed to be doing, it just needs to be told that what they are doing is wrong and they should stop. After a while the child knows not to do certain things because they know they shouldn't do them. One very good example of an alternative to spanking is putting the child in time-out. Let’s say the child is misbehaving a lot, yelling across the room or throwing a tantrum because you didn’t want to buy them a toy they wanted, and he or she doesn’t want to listen to anything you are saying, giving the child a warning allows them to consider where their parents are coming from, but if they ignore it putting them in time out gives the child some time to reflect on what they did wrong. This works very well with young children because they have a fear of being by themselves. Some “ Mexican” parents tell their kids that once they get home they will get a spanking because they were misbehaving, but this puts the child in a state of anxiety, no child wants to get home from a long day and get
Death penalty satisfies the saying ‘ 'an eye for an eye’ ' which doesn 't significantly eliminate crime. I believe there are other terms of punishment for those offenders such as life-time prison. Death penalty is rather useless in terms of eliminating crime. Although a lot of states have eliminated the use of capital punishment 's , there are few states that still practice death penalty. therefore, we must put an end it all. Death penalty is barbaric and an unusually cruel punishment. There has been countless controversial arguments about abolishing capital punishment over the years, some believe that the punishment challenges our declaration of independence, some believe it 's barbaric and others just simply think it 's cruel when an
Spanking children still a huge controversy within the realm of parenting. It can be viewed as hateful, dangerous, and detrimental, or it can necessary, caring, and effective. None of these views are wrong. You spank a child because they aren’t listening to reason and they need to learn a lesson so they don’t continue such behavior as they grow older, but if hit too hard or taken too far the results can be detrimental and possibly dangerous. Spanking is still legal in all 50 states, but some are on the faces as to whether to make it illegal.
As a teacher and part of a behavior support team I would not debate with a family on whether the corporal punishment is wrong or right, rather educate them on different approaches that can be used. For example, the use of reinforcement can be used to teach children that when they do good, great things will come to them. Reinforcements involved praising and rewarding a behavior to increase the likelihood of the repetition of that behavior. Punishment can be used to teach children that there are consequences to their behaviors, actions, and often they are not pleasant ones. Occasionally, when people hear the word punishment, they think of harmful things, which is not always the case. In this sort of punishments a consequence is usually follow to decrease the likelihood of the occurrence of such behavior. I will also help the parents keep in mind that the best way to get children to display a desired behavior by modeling such behavior to them. According to Bermuda (1977) children learn through the process of observation, imitation, and a child environment and surrounding greatly impact their behaviors. I totally support this view because I had the opportunity to observe such behavior in multiple occasions. For instance, a cousin of mine has two children whenever the oldest exhibit a bad behavior she would use corporal punishment, therefore, when they youngest
Since the foundation of our nation the Death Penalty has been a way to punish prisoners that have committed heinous crimes, however since the turn of the 20th century the practice of Capital Punishment has been questioned on its usage in America and the world as a whole. The Death Penalty is used in America to punish criminals who have committed murders, or taken the life of an innocent person, and while the death penalty seems like it is doing justice to those who have killed others it is actually being used improperly in most situations, while also hindering our economy and is a means of ending more lives than necessary. The Death Penalty can be a valid source of punishment for criminals in the US however due to the misuse of this power by the government it is a huge detriment to our nation and the people that inhabit it. Because of the fact that Capital Punishment is used unfairly, and ineffectively in our nation it is an obsolete form of punishment and should have no place in the United States justice department.
Punishment, the word has brought fear to men and children alike, leaning towards adult offenders it tends to take on deeper connotations. As a child you would be punished by your parents, school leaders and other parental figures, and mostly under not so serious circumstances, usually requiring very little corporal punishment and/or separation from entertainment devices. As we get older the offenses tend to be greater and therefore demand greater punishment, despite having histories involving death sentences and hard labor, some methods have done little to deter some offenders. The question this raises of course, should we focus more on punishment or on rehabilitation, concentrating on punishment some would say stricter… while many will
The death penalty, also known as capital punishment is a legal procedure in which a state executes a person for crimes he/she has committed. This punishment has been implemented by many states, and is normally used for atrocious crimes, especially murder. It is also used on crimes against the state such as treason, crimes against humanity, espionage, and violent crimes while other states use it as part of military justice. There are mixed reactions on capital punishment depending on one’s faith, and the state they come from. In my view, I am not in favor of death penalty, as I strongly believe that, death penalty is unacceptable and an inhumane practice for it denies one the right to live. Death penalty does not deter crime, it is an act
