When it comes to someone as controversial a character as Donald Trump, it appears everybody and their dog has a passionate opinion. In order to form and (in most cases) confirm those opinions in subjects such as this, the people commonly turn to the information provided by the media (Rosen). The media’s affect on public opinion may seem irrelevant and avoidable; after all, nobody forces you to agree with what’s being reported, right? Although this is indeed true, it has been found that the media can both “legitimise the actions of the powerful, … [and] limit and shape the behaviours of individuals which are central to wider social change” (Happer). Essentially, this means that the life of an individual whose opinion is not influenced by the media will be affected by it regardless, since the thoughts, and therefore actions (such as voting or discrimination), of society as a whole will still be affected. With this knowledge, certainly anyone could agree that the media should be unbiased, as to provide adequate background for the people to effectively form their own educated opinions on certain matters - especially matters of a political nature. This would lead one to think that something as important as the president of the United States of America would receive media coverage that includes both the negative and the positive - as well as liberal and conservative - sides to the story as a whole. However, some believe that there is a “clear media bias against Trump” (Harper),
Donald Trump is not doing good as president. Some may still believe he is doing good for our country, but the facts will change their opinion. This argument can be proved based on the facts that are in the news everyday. The news shows articles about him firing multiple people in the white house, his insensitive attitude to important things happening in our country, and him degrading women. People are not happy with Donald Trump’s presidency, and the hatred for Trump continues to grow by his actions.
President Obama came into office in the aftermath of the disastrous foreign policy record of the Bush administration. The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 had served as a “switchman,” leading to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The Bush administration exercised unilateral use of force and reluctance to engage the international community. As a result global elites and publics viewed the US unfavorably. The US economy was negatively affected by the costs of the wars coupled with the financial crisis of 2007. It was this environment that defined the contours of the election campaign of 2008. Obama campaigned on the idea of change, which represented a regeneration of America through domestic public policy reform and a return to multilateralism in foreign policy. Both domestic and international publics and elites were galvanized by Obama’s message.
In 2016 Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the presidential race to become the president of the united states. Including the likes of Zachary Taylor, Ulysses S. Grant, Herbert Hoover, and Dwight D. Eisenhower, Donald Trump is one of five presidents that has never been elected to public office before becoming President. Instead, Donald Trump gained majority of his notoriety for being a businessman, real estate developer, and former reality tv star. During his presidential race, it was clear the Donald Trump would be like no other president. During the elections
Now depending on what you watch or read you will have a sense of feel on how the media gives people a sense of who that person is. I feel that the media gives non-stop coverage so that they can inform people on who they are voting for. Now Donald Trump is someone that is heavily covered because of the outlandish things that he says. He has said things like Mexicans are bad people
It has now been one year under the Trump administration, and it doesn’t very good for them a grade was to be given. While Trump may see it differently, many people see Trump’s victories, as of now, not very influential or impacting. If anything, Trump and his team seem to finally get things moving once again, but it would seem that for many, it was too little, too late. And yet, this is not what makes the Trump administration so interesting. Rather, it is because of the fact that in the past, there was another president would have faced the very same ideals and political stances that our current president follows, and that very president was Ronald Reagan. However, the biggest difference that the two have would be the procedure that the two
Throughout the history of the United States, in his first one hundred days in office, the President passes a series of executive orders that are directed towards officers and agencies of the Federal government. Similar to legislative statutes and regulations implemented by government agencies, executive orders are subject to judicial review and may be overturned if the orders lack support by statute or the Constitution (Pate, 2017). Newly elected President, Donald J. Trump, has caused protests across the nation and parts of the world due to his controversial orders. Without a doubt, the most controversial of Trump’s orders deals with immigration and how he will put an end to terrorism on U.S. soil.
Our country is continuously wrought with terrorist attacks by foreign-born migrants and radicalized U.S. born citizens. This causes national security issues to remain at the forefront of the news and political debates. The federal government holds the responsibility to protect our nation from those who seek to harm us. As a result, the Trump administration enacted a travel ban to counteract the issue of foreign-born migrants; who are potentially not screened properly by foreign governments. The travel ban is a controversial national security policy which began with Executive Order 13769, resulting in multiple legal battles, and legislative action should be taken.
Being intentionally simple, repetitive, self-promoting, and self-prophesizing worked to get Donald Trump elected President of the United States. To win the respect they long for and deserve as well as open the eyes of the public to the current plight of public education in the United States, it would be wise for public school educators to draw on the Trump formula. If teachers and school administrators used the formula relentlessly to get their message across, there is no reason why it shouldn’t work for them as well.
“Republican and Democratic presidential front-runners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have another chance to edge closer to their respective parties' nominations Tuesday as voters go to the polls in the delegate-rich New York primary”.”Pre-primary polls show Trump and Clinton holding comfortable leads, but winning alone is not necessarily enough. Clinton will want a convincing victory to halt rival Bernie Sanders' winning streak and blunt his claims of "momentum" in the Democratic race.”Trump needs to garner more than 50 percent of the statewide vote to have a shot at taking home all 95 of New York’s delegates. Trump has been campaigning heavily in the state with an eye toward that goal, and most recent polls shows him, holding a huge double-digit
Our president strikes again when it comes to importing and exporting goods to/from the United States. In a news article I found they talked about President Trumps and a potential trade war with China and what it may look like. A trade war would mean abandoning an institution that recognizes that countries are stronger when they work together. President Trump action might possible start a trade war with China according to a statement from economist.com when they stated “Mr. Trump might, with some justification, accuse China of boosting its economy with subsidies and flooding some American markets with cheap imports”.
The 2016 Presidential Election has been filled with large amount of controversy and drama. The two candidates, Hillary Clinton for the democratic party, and Donald Trump for the Republican party, each have a list of questionable acts. The two come from different walks of life and both have different views on how America could better herself. As voting time approaches it is time to look at all our candidates have given us so that a decision can be reached. By going back into their backgrounds, considering their proposed policies, and who has been funding their campaign, the most suitable candidate should be uncovered.
I view Trump as a businessman who knows how to build a successful empire, is a great negotiator, and if elected, stands
President-elect Donald J. Trump on Tuesday tempered some of his most extreme campaign promises, dropping his vow to jail Hillary Clinton, expressing doubt about the value of torturing terrorism suspects and pledging to have an open mind about climate change.
I believe that who ever is the next president; they should stop the hungry around the world. Most of the problem in the world are mosely hungry, it’s everywhere so we should stop them because of that death rate increased over time. It may not matter to some people but just think about it! If you are parent would you let your kids be hungry all the time? “No, of course not who would do that.” We can help hungry people by donate little amount of money and over time it may add up to like billion. For the next president it’s big challenge but if the government and the president work together they can help those people like a flash.
Using The New York Times news page I found an article asking, “is it possible for Trump to be a good president?” (Painter) This article states many reasons why Trump has made it this far, and why he might have what it takes to be a successful, loved President. Many ask, “what happened on election day?”(Painter) as it was quite shocking that Trump had won the election. Finding sources on the media responding to Trumps positive and smart decisions seems much harder to find rather than negative comments nearly everywhere on news pages. There seems to be tons of the past confrontations, bankruptcies, crimes, and transactions in Trumps records that create a large number of anti-Trump supporters. Although the people may not enjoy it, Trump is still sitting in the
