At this moment, there are people all over the country preparing to go to college. Some of them are high schoolers going through their senior year, others may be returning to college from their break. Whoever it may be, preparing for college can be a long confusing process, but it does not have to be. There are many things that can be done to reduce the stress of going to college such as contacting people at the college or making sure you have signed up for all the right classes before paying for them. Here are more of the steps that can be taken to ensure that college is a pleasant experience instead of a bad one.
By the time a student graduates from high school, they will have devoted 12 years of their life towards education. Some students graduate having no idea what they want to do and that is okay. (Ghilani 13) When conducting an interview with Janet Russel, an Appalachian State University graduate, she was asked what advice she would give to anyone who didn’t know what they wanted to major in, she said: “I would say if you are already at a four-year school to slow down taking classes in your declared major and focus on your general education classes. If you are in a community college take the opportunity to continue taking general education classes while branching out to most technical classes as well.
