To Kneel Or Not To Kneel On September 21, 2016 Colin Kaepernick took a knee to shine a light on the unjustified killings of African-American men, women and children by the police. Afterwards, Many people began to question and ridicule him because of his decision. Even our president has had time off to tweet and make statements about Kaepernick and others in the NFL who are protesting. The President and all those who disagree with Colin Kaepernick’s decision should take time out and revisit the First Amendment and also research “The Flag Code”. Colin Kaepernick and anyone else has the first amendment rights to protest whenever,wherever and however they choose to. The First Amendment states that all Americans have the right to freedom of speech and to peaceably protest. Amendment one state, “ Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances”(First Amendment). Colin Kaepernick taking a knee to protest the deaths of unarmed African-American men, women children is well within his legal right to do so. It is not only his right, it's also the right of all citizens who have chosen to protest against the senseless unexplained deaths of African-Americans. Kaepernick taking a knee has caused
