One of the reasons for the Tsars downfall were the many mistakes that he made. Some of these mistakes was having Rasputin around so much, and letting him help and make import decisions that affected the Russian people. Having Rasputin make so many choices and the power he held over the Tsar made him seem weak and easily corruptible, which would have angered the Russian people.
The Tsar also made the mistake of going to fight in the war. The Tsar had very little military experience and was not qualified to lead the army. The Tsar was blamed for the millions of deaths in the war, as he was leading them.
Leaving Russia meant the Tsar had left the Tsarina in charge of running Russia. Leaving the Tsarina in charge made matters worse for him as she refused to work with the middle class and let Rasputin make his friends ministers and make highly unfair decisions concerning Russia. This made the small support the Romanov family had go down significantly.

Another reason for the Tsar’s downfall was the impact the war had in Russia. There was increased inflation and there were seven price rises from 1913 to 1917. As so many people were fighting in the war, there were not enough people to work on the land which meant less food. This meant even more starvation amongst the poor. People would be queuing for hours just to get a loaf, sometimes less, of bread. There was lots of poverty for the poor in Russia. The life expectancy amongst the poor was less than forty years old. The aristocracy only made up one per-cent of the Russian population yet owned twenty five per-cent of the land. All of this angered the peasants as they felt the Tsar did not care about them, or want to help them. They resented the rich as they had good living conditions and were not treated badly by the
