When I look back at the two different circumstances both political and economic, I feel that politics were more important in creating an environment ripe for the Renaissance to flourish. Renaissance is described as, “the activity, spirit, or time of the great revival of art, literature, and learning...” Therefore, I think the political did more versus economical. After dealing with the black death, the town dealt with the breakdown of the manor system. Merchants whose focus was selling their art to others no longer had many people to sell to since so many people died. The economy took a hard hit and was in trouble. With these changes that continued to happen, the Renaissance society was also effected in some negative ways. The people within the Renaissance society started having a very inward focus. They were self-absorbed and not worried as much about those around them like before. They were so much more focused on themselves and surviving. Once original system broke down, they began to experience uncharted growth. Their society was finally flourishing with more people as well. Cities grew and starting prospering during the Renaissance. This would bring in the idea of taxing people. With the growth that came about people started a trade system between different cities and states and other countries. As their trade program increased, they continued to come up with new ideas that would soon lead them into having major routes for trade within the inland. Now
The Renaissance was an important event in human history that caused us to realise how important being individual is. When the black plague occurred, it made people think that there may not be a god because of how tragic it was. Many important people such as Leonardo Da Vinci began making art and literature that were less religious and more in this world. Also the city states had changes that were necessary for the Renaissance. Without the changes Europe experienced we would still be under the rule of the church and be forced into a certain religion instead of being free thinking individuals.
The political changed from a monarch ruled to a merchant rule during the Renaissance. The social classes in Italy showed an example of anarchy and social division. The old rich who were merchant and newly rich who were capitalists competed against each other for political power. The middle burgher ranks were shop owner and small businesses, people siding with the newly rich. The Medici family caused a decline to Florence. They wanted money and were into banking.
Change gives a more appropriate impression of the time than the optimistic word Renaissance. There were changes in faith, society, and the economy due to the massive loss of people. For faith, priests were unable to perform all their duties, such as hearing confessions and last rites, either from the overwhelming need for priests or from they themselves trying to avoid becoming sick. Socially, there was a moral leniency from the “cathartic release of emotions” from the plague (67). Attempts to stop this leniency failed and social constraints continued to loosen. Economically, the Black Death left a shortage of both consumers and producers, so wages went up and the price of goods went down, raising the
While the renaissance period of history is long over, it dramatically impacted the modern world. Some of the great discoveries in science, developments in the arts, architecture, and humanism took place during this period of history. The results had major impacts on politics at that time as well into the future. The renaissance left both positive and negative influences on the world as we know it.
The Renaissance was huge turning point that impacted society since it changed the daily and social life of many people. During the 14th century, Italy became a place that is very powerful with business and had strong political powers because it was a huge trading center. This started an time where Italy and some of Europe became prosperous in economics which is called as The Renaissance. There was many causes to the Renaissance but the one cause is the influence from Greeks and Romans since Ancient Greece studied history and are famous historians, it influenced people to do the same. Another important cause is that people embrace the idea of human and life is more important than religion. This also led to people shifting their focus from religious belief to secular ideas. People also really wanted to accomplish their own achievements with their own power. Lastly, a disease known as The Black Death is also a cause since it ended the system of feudalism and allowed people to find new ways to climb up the social class especially in places where social mobility much greater than other places. As a result, people's life became more and more prosperous . People who had shifted their focus to non-religious ideas accomplishes many things and some who became artists were also very successful. The city Florence that is in Italy was a place where art florised. Many important figures and wealthy families acquired their status and their famed recognition, would patronize arts by paying an artist to create an impressive work of art. This was to mainly to show off their limitless amount of wealthy. This led to an increase in trade which also meant that many cities grew in size and can provide more jobs to people. Wealth became a symbol for power, wealth and prestige. In the Renaissance, people became more richer, prosperous and intelligent because they change
The Renaissance period is known for the revival of the classical art and intellect born in ancient Greece and Rome. The Renaissance is also a time that is marked by growth, exploration, and rebirth. The Italian Renaissance started in Florence and progressively made its way into Venice and then into the great city of Rome. During the Renaissance, Rome was home to some of the most renowned works of art and the finest architectural masterpieces in the world - too many that still holds true today. Along with the delicate architecture and grand artistry, Rome was also home to a mixture of people and cultures. It is in this cultural context and through the book A Street Life in Renaissance Rome: A Brief History with Documents, that understanding how men, woman, and specifically Jews and Christians lived in Rome becomes important to better understand this period of renewal.
Florence is arguably the starting place of the renaissance. With many different artists there, the Medici Family in control and a very strong trading system, it was a very powerful city-state during the renaissance. During this time, the feudal system was no more. The people in
During the period of renaissance, both these political institutions have developed from the medieval roots, but both failed to get transformed completely into a modern system. Regardless of the fact that Church and state had mutually strong ties with each other, but popes and rulers struggled with each other for being in command of the administration of church and material lands. Therefore, some historians portrayed this period as a significant one for politics while some think this age as meaningless and abandoning the whole concept.
Before there was a rebirth in Europe, there was instability that resulted into deaths, famine, and destruction. Therefore, the renaissance played a crucial role in Europe, specifically in Italy. The renaissance would be defined as a cycle where Europe practiced a rebirth of antiquity based on the Greeks and Roman culture. For instance, the people of Italian Europe studied religion and the Northern people established several teachings of learning on topics of technology, philosophy, and science. Wherefore, the social status of artists changed since advanced ideas of art was always available in Europe l throughout the Renaissance. This had an impact on the church to be more stabilized because of how their power was drained in the past. In addition,
The Renaissance had a profound part in the development of modern thinking, technology and art. The Renaissance influenced America to what it is today. The Renaissance way of thinking was based more on humanism and less on religion. That resulted in a newer way of thinking than the church's way of thinking. Before the Renaissance all thinking was geared towards religion in some way.
The Renaissance was a period in history following the Middle Ages in which a “rebirth” occurred. This rebirth refers to the increase of interest and emphasis on culture and learning that characterised this era. Art, music, philosophy and other aspects of European culture were embraced and strived in this period, which was unlike the Middle Ages that had just come to an end. This created a clear contrast between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period. It started as a cultural movement in Italy and then spread to the rest of Europe rather quickly, due to the creation of the printing press. This period is looked at as a great and prosperous time in human history, and it is believed that the people of the time lived rather good lives and were

There were several conditions that contributed to the rise of the Italian Renaissance. First are the Crusades, the holy wars fought between the Christians and the Muslims. Over time, the Crusades opened up multiple new trade routes, especially in the city-states of Italy. Their prime geographical location resulted in the Europeans coming in contact with foreign cultures. Acquiring exotic goods and ideas from the eastern world had a great impact on Europe during the Dark Ages. Secondly, the scandals of the Roman Catholic Church during the Medieval Ages lead to the Renaissance. People started to notice the Church's corruption, doubting their ultimate authority over every aspect of European culture and society. This resulted in many developing a secular outlook, rather than being heavily dependent on the Church. Third is the growth in wealth and population of the middle class. As their fortunes improved and began to accumulate money, they could spend it on things other than their basic needs. Their desires stimulated the European life economically and culturally. With the emerging capitalist society, individuals publicly exposed their wealth and others were motivated to emulate this expensive living. Lastly, the healthy competition between the upper class for status, gave rise to the Renaissance. Serving as patrons to artists, the wealthy began to compete in sponsoring the best artworks. While artists achieved public
