During the Middle Ages, Europe was going through a tough time it was characterized by a breakup of the unified empire, breakdown of trade, abandoned cities, and end of all governments, this led Europe to be economically weak and not the center of literacy anymore; following it even changing the dominant language to another. The period that Europe was going through was hectic causing the breakdown of trade and the population becoming rural, but after every beginning, there's an end and this started between the 1400's and the 1500's. After the Middle Ages, a broad change occurred which happened to be the" renaissance" meaning (rebirth). During this age changes occurred such as the development of nation-states, the emergence of the middle class, the advent of commercial capitalism and the rise of rationalist thoughts. With the developments of scientific and technological studies and inventions, it allowed the expansion of learning. The renaissance was a huge impact on Europe at that time especially Italy where it was energized by the classical learning based on the philosophical and the literary writings of the Romans and the Greeks, the …show more content…

Humanists tried to take these ideas of and use education to better understand the world while still sticking to their beliefs, the idea of the whole change was basically to change the citizen into an educated complete and independent one. The change that was needed throughout the years was not changing the country but changing and educating the people. The people before the age of the renaissance had them feeling depressed and not knowing anything in life except worshiping and believing that the church and king are the most important, and to avoiding life's pleasure to please
