The objective of his book is to help provide a roadmap to help bring about change when dealing with people. I found this book to be very interesting and informational. It brought to the forefront that in order to bring about change something, someone or both have to change has to change. The mindset and the environment must be adjusted and leveled out to make change happen. Starting with looking for the good things. After finding highlights we must use them to capitalize upon. Now that the rider has planted the seeds, the Elephant needs to be motivated. This can be achieved by finding the feeling that the Elephant is feeding on and then creating a feeling within the Elephant that is shared all the way around. It is here we can begin to script the critical moves that need to be made. The Rider can get stuck in this situation by over analyzing the problem to the point of stopping so don’t get caught up here. Second the Elephant needs to be addressed so we must search and find the feelings. Now we have to create the emotion that makes the elephant willing. The Elephant can now identify the mindset fusion and is ready to grow. The decision made on what we wish to achieve, point the Elephant in that direction and make him move.
