From getting their name on a sewing machine AC/DC was a pretty good band. AC/DC wore school uniforms when they performed. When their lead bon scott died everyone thought AC/DC was done but AC/DC pulled threw and kept going. AC/DC had a huge impact on rock’n roll. AC/DC won 14 awards, and was inducted into the grammy hall of fame. This is why they were one of the best bands of the 20th century.
On the official Rock Hall website, they list Pearl Jam’s current lineup, as well as original drummer Dave Krusen, as potential inductees, but left out other former drummer: Dave Abbruzzese, who has now responded publicly.

The Monkees were an inspiring and motivating group for music. The Monkees were well know for music and friendship.
Despite his accomplishments in the music industry and the inspiration that he has been, Chubby Checker is currently not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, nor has he even been nominated for it. He himself and his successes may not be as well known as some other Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artists, but he has still managed to do things that few other musicians could say they’ve done. He has still made an impact in the music scene, though he’s not credited with for them as much as some other artists.
Not many people know about the American Folk Music Revival that took place in the 1950s and 1960s, unless one was actually born during that time. However there were many artists who helped the revival take place. Those artists changed the way music lovers viewed music and made them love it even more. The Kingston Trio is one of these bands and they also helped launch the folk revival with their albums and songs which includes their hit song Tom Dooley.
Though all these musicians lives were dramatically different, they share one thing in common; a lasting legacy. Each one of them are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! They all had loyal and dedicated fans. Most importantly, they inspired new musicians. That’s the magical aspect of the 27 Club. Despite Buddy Holly, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain dying young, their legacy will outlive any life they could’ve had. The music that they created will never truly die, because it affected people into making new and ever changing music. That's the power of the 27 Club.
On February 9, 1964, Over 45% of America (roughly 73 million people) watched the Beatles’ debut US performance on the Ed Sullivan show. By the next morning, they had become the next big thing in America. Celebrities and schoolchildren alike were wearing Beatles wigs so that they could imitate their new favorite musical act. They had brought a cheeky sense of humor, long recognizable hair, and a new upbeat pop sound that appealed to the general public. By April 6, they owned the top five hits on the billboard hot 100 list. At one point, the Beatles sang 14 of the Billboard top 100 songs in the country. On the Billboard top selling albums list, they owned the top two albums on the billboard charts at the same time. They won two Grammy’s for 1964: one for best new artist and one for best group performance. They toured in Britain, Australia, and a blockbuster North American tour. Women wanted them and men wanted to be like them. Their fame was completely unrivaled. And that was their success simply in the sphere of music. (Kaplan, 2004).
The band I pick was the Avett Brothers, mainly because I don’t know many bands. And they are a contemporary bluegrass band slash everything else. I heard about the Avett Brothers back home early on before they were big. They are from Concord, NC which is where they received from the Mullis family. Piano lessons from Karen, guitar lessons from Nelson, and banjo lessons from Ned. “They began with dreams of rock/pop stardom (Scott) and astronaut adventures (Seth). The new generation of bands has just as much, if not more, popularity than the bands of the older generation. Bands do not gain popularity just by showing up to rehearsal, though. Gaining popularity can take years of making music, and sometimes establishing credibility takes more time than other bands.
