My prominent lady of choice from the Colorado progressive era is Frances Wisebart Jacobs. Francis moved to Denver, Colorado in 1870 with her husband Abraham and their two children. The Salvation Army is a worldwide Voluntary Welfare Organisation, providing cares to the needy in the community. The Salvation Army consists of different territories and Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar (SMM) forms a territory. There are different centres under the SMM territory such as Child Care Centres, Nursing Home, Children Home, Youth Development Centre, Family and Prison Support Services, etc. which provides various programmes to reach out to the children, sick, elderly and those in need.

The Peace Corps, formed in 1961, was a highly influential group of young Anti-Communist graduates who volunteered their time across the country to bring modernism and democracy to third world countries, stop communism from spreading, and changed the way the world thought about Americans. When World Wat II finally came to a close , many agreed that it would be a good idea to organize the youth of America and have them volunteer in foreign countries. Many bills had been proposed by the United State Congress, such as one early bill penned by Senator Hubert, although the idea was first credited by Senator Brian McMahan, who first had the idea of an "army" of young Americans to as "missionaries of democracy."

Catholic Relief Services began as an effort, led by Catholic Bishops from the United States, to aid those who survived the traumatic events of World War II in European countries. Since 1943, this organization has evolved in mission, purpose, and vision in order to provide assistance to indigent individuals in foreign countries, promote social development, and help better the morals of the world through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Not only does Catholic Relief Services deliver their guidance and comfort to those living in other countries, but this organization also encourages those residing in the United States to fulfill their moral obligation to help the less fortunate in any way that they can. One person started to help this kids in need and his name was Bob Pierce. "Let my heart be broken with the things that break the heart of God." Bob Pierce. After visiting children in Korean Island he wanted to help people in need after a natural disaster. Bob Pierce helped found Samaritan’s Purse in 1970. He devoted his life to help people in poor conditions, and to help counties that were in need also to do through evangelism. After WWII Bob went to Asia and was an evangelist and journalist for Youth For Christ. While in China he found a brave women tending to the lepers who are people with a terrible disease, and orphans sacrificing everything to tell them about Jesus Christ. Through his love and selflessness God gave Bob a great vision for his ministry. In the summer, of 1973 Bob met a young man named Franklin Graham he had a growing heart for ministry. Franklin saw the poverty in other counties and wanted to help. In 1978 Bob died of leukemia and soon after that Franklin Graham became the presentiand and chairman of Samaritan's Purse. Samaritan’s Purse helps out with earthquakes, hurricanes, wars, and famine, etc. Samaritan’s Purse follows God’s word and what he teaches us. They follow Him and the teach the people to also follow

The volunteer spirit, in essence, is a feeling of pride that I have for having the opportunity to attend the University of Tennessee. It means embracing the traditions, the history, and especially the color orange. The volunteer spirit is the pride that you see at every football game in all the students, alumni, and other fans that are yelling Rocky Top as loud as they can. To help the blind children around is my dream. Since being temporarily blind, I understood how scared and helplessness stayed in a dark environment. As a president of school philanthropy club, I had an opportunity to enter a blind children school to put my efforts to help them as their teaching assistant. When I firstly got into this school, the charming bells and the lush greenery seemed there was no difference between other schools. As I listened to the chatter of children tapping their canes along the walks and saw their fingers touch the raised dots and different patterns on the paper, I really wanted to do something for them, not as a compassionate response, but helped them to be like normal people and even better than us. Although he was greatly opposed because of the type people he was preaching to he was able to reach 250,000 people in five years. With the help of some volunteers he would eventually spread his to America. After many years of being an evangelistic group they would eventually become a present-day charitable organization. However it is important to remember the contributions of The Salvation Army: establish a new religion in the 19th century, was one the largest evangelistic movements and one of the first religions to send missionaries to another country.
