The Scorch Trials was the second book of four. This series is very similar to his others series but is intended for an older reader. Other writers similar to James Dashner are Scholastic and Rick Riordan. They all have books about adventure and mysteries to keep you reading. The First and second books have been made into movies and the others will be soon. I have only seen the first movie and that is what got me hooked on this series.
The ideas of this book convey a reasonable argument. For instance, the way many saw blacks as a subordinate race and whites believed one should assimilate to the national identity of America and leave behind their past identity. The America nation as a whole are of a racial ideology. Much of which has continued to press on individual lives. Gerstle’s thesis is about how the American constitution states that America is a free nation, yet many colored people and of different background from the original white Americans faced discrimination. He argues that the white racial ideals had shaped the American history of the twentieth century (Gerstle. American Crucible 2002. 5). The American Crucible starts by describing a play The Melting-Pot in 1908.
The Scorch Trials by James Dashner is the second book The Maze Runner series. This science fiction tests the limits of humans’ trust, breaking apart strong bonds that once held everyone together. I chose this book as it is the second book in The Maze Runner series and the first book was able to keep my interest for quite a while.
A quote by Edward R. Murrow states, “No one man can terrorize a whole nation unless we are all his accomplices.” During the Red Scare, Senator McCarthy did terrorize a whole nation, and Arthur Miller became a victim of McCarthyism. Miller suffered through accusations of possibly believing in communism; as a result, he wrote a play called The Crucible, in which he used the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 to explain the communist hysteria during the 1950s. Arthur Miller develops an allegory in The Crucible by comparing the Salem Witch Trials to McCarthyism by using ringleaders, persecuted couples, and hypocrisy in the government or legal system.
During the Medieval Ages indulgences sold as a way of salvation. These indulgences, sold by the Catholic Church erased one's sins. The Pardoner's Tale by Geoffrey Chaucer demonstrates the religious way of life of commoners in order to show how the Catholic church was in the Medieval Ages.
Both stories “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allen Poe and “Barn Burning” by William Faulkner express a crime or injustice that has been committed. Each sotires author choose a different point of view, that was used to further develop the story and indicate the crime. The use of different points of view also offers the reader an insight into what the characters belief of justice as in both of the texts the character must define it for himself. Both which involved deciding between the good of the family or true justice and preserving the law.

Thomas, the main character in The Scorch Trials by James Dashner is a very hardworking, motivated, smart, and risk taking character. He is motivated and puts in the work to survive and make it out of this horrible situation that he was thrown in. Thomas is someone that is going to put everything he has into something. I’m a smart, hardworking, and motivated person. If I were in the position that Thomas is in I probably wouldn’t be as motivated as he is. However, I would work just as hard to stay alive, but probably not take the lead of the group. I’m motivated and I will put a lot of work into projects. I know when to call it quits though, and I wouldn’t have taken as many risks as Thomas.
In the beginning of Arthur Miller’s play The Crucible it starts out in the puritan town of Salem Massachusetts in 1692. Reverend Parris finds his servant Tituba, his daughter, and his niece dancing on the woods. In the woods they were crafting spells, and dancing around the fire. We also found out that John Proctor had an affair with his old servant Abigail Williams.
My crucible happened when I was in the 7th grade. I was a lazy guy when I started the school year. I started out great with grades but I later on dropped the scale of having good grades. In class, I would go into many reveries and have no idea what is going on. Around the end of the 1st marking period, i’d get an F for at least one of my classes in my report card. During the 2nd marking period, I tend to stop doing more homework and failed some of my tests. By the end of the 2nd marking period, I did a little bit worse and failed two of my classes. The 3rd marking period started and I was already acting worse in class. I was flunking all the tests and barely doing homework. I wasn’t realizing how bad I was doing until the 3rd marking
The current book is there are a variety of types, such as novels, tales, textbooks and general books, which the book is one thing. I like reading in his spare time, took the book that is The Scarlet Letter books but much more than the character through the eye.
The series, since the release of the second novel in the series in 1991, had novels coming out every other month. This has caused the series to have many installments to the series. There are also many ghostwriters who write the novels, but the novels are published under the name Don Pendleton.
