There’s this story about a scorpion and a frog. Sometimes it’s a turtle. Doesn’t really matter. It’s just a story. But this scorpion, he wants to cross the river, so he asks the frog. The frog’s worried about getting stung, but the scorpion tells it to trust him. So the frog does. In the end the scorpion stings the frog, and they both drown. The frog doesn’t get it, he’s an idiot like that. He says, Why? The scorpion says, It’s my nature. Wallace doesn’t think it’s that simple, though. Was the scorpion that calm? Did dying mean so little to him? Why didn’t any of the other frogs help? It was a stream, right? There had to have been other frogs. Maybe they already warned the idiot frog, maybe they told him countless times. It’s his nature,
In the book, The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, the protagonist, Matteo Alacrán was not born but harvested. As the book goes more in depth, Matt has an unbearable final battle and figures out his true identity, which turns him into the hero that he becomes.
‘The Secret Life of Frogs’ is a poem that delves into the childhood perception of war, in particular World War I, and the experiences of their fathers. ‘The Secret Life of Frogs’ deals with the idea of misunderstandings incurred when children attempt to understand adult concepts. This is evident through the use of punning. The term ‘Frog’, which is frequently used throughout the poem adds amusement to the text because to the readers, it not only translates literally to a frog, but also represents the rival French people in the war through a negative light. However, the narrator, who is also one of the children in the poem, does not understand this other meaning attached to the term ‘frog’. This can clearly be seen in the final sentence

He lived in isolation with his caretaker, Celia who works for the highly compelling and affluent Alacrán family, of which El Patron is the head. El Patron is the drug lord ruler of the dystopian country, Opium. Later on in the story, Matt finds out he is the clone of El Patron and his life takes a turn for the worse. The House Of The Scorpion is a science fiction novel about clones and many other interesting topics. Matteo Alacran, the main character, could be described as a hero in many different ways. Matt could be described as your average hero like those in books and movies because many plots have the hero growing up with a rough childhood and is mostly isolated from others. When Matt was young he was abused and locked away from everyone, didn't have nearly any friends, and by the time he was fourteen, he had dealt with near-death experiences, hatred and prejudice, and a lot of violence. Average superheroes also have a power that makes them different from everyone else. But in this case, Matt is a clone. For almost all of
A long time ago in a plain forest a group of squirrels was sitting around talking then the bear showed up. When he showed up all one of the bears said here comes the weirdo and they all laughed. Loyalty is essential for Matt in The House of the Scorpion. So many things in his world are erratic, making him rely on the people who are everlastingly steadfast in spite of any bumps down the road. Because of his social status, Matt is unable to make many deep connections with people as they seem to hate him. The relationships he does have and the connections he does make are the most important, as the bonds he has with these people can never be broken. We depend on one another, without even knowing it. Unconsciously, people become accustomed to the relationships in their daily life, not realizing how much they need the people they talk to every day. When someone does not interact with others regularly, instead conversing with the shadows,

"Meanwhile my heart was all stirred and I swore to myself every other minute that I would do something, I would make a contribution here. He makes a bomb to kill the frogs but ends up destroying the wall holding the water supply together and drains the entire reserve. He later leaves the Arnewi tribe in search of a new one with different meanings of
One day while I was hunting, I met a man named Orion who had two dogs with him. Their names were Canis Major and Canis Minor. We became close friends. We hunted and were always together. My brother Apollo had grown jealous of our relationship. One night, Orion dreamed of a scorpion that had skin that couldn’t be pierced. He fought it all night, and before he could get stabbed in the heart he awoke. When he got out of his house, he saw the same scorpion in his dream. He started fighting the scorpion, and had ended up having to jump into the sea to try and escape it. Meanwhile, Apollo had told me that a man named Candaeon had sexually assaulted one of my maids. He told me that the man was trying to escape by swimming across the sea. In fury,
The murderers that Macbeth hired to kill Banquo have done their job and go to tell Macbeth what they have done. One murderer interrupts the feast that is taking place and explains that Banquo has been killed but his son has escaped. But Macbeth does seem to be too worried, he thinks Fleance is too young pose a threat to him. Macbeth compares Banquo and his son to a father snake to its child, using a biblical reference to how the snake is clever creature. The snake theme continues to be present in the text. As used by Lady Macbeth in Act I scene 6 “But be the serpent under ‘t…” She wants Macbeth to look like he is the friend is everyone when in reality he is plotting against them in secret. Also we see some more religious imagery with snakes,

They eventually made up their minds and they went to the big city. When they arrived at the city they didn’t like what they saw, large trucks, loud traffic and crowds of people, they didn’t like any of it. Though it was bad they still had hope, so Woggle took a deep breath and took his first step out into the street, but then, all of the sudden a runaway train burst through a building and ran onto the street. Woggle screamed and sacked the train.
Although the fable of the scorpion and the frog is only presented twice in the movie, the fable acts as a central theme to the overarching plot. The actions of many characters, but specifically Fergus, can be explained by their “nature” as either a frog or scorpion. Initially, Fergus is surrounded by the
