All in all, the people who live on both versions of Maple Street have taught many people and themselves how being fearful of those different than you can be the real danger in most situations. People like Steve and Will think clearly, even when people like Charlie and Dylan come around and cause chaos. They are the only people in all of Maple Street who saw the real danger-prejudice. Les Goodman tries to start his car but it doesn’t work so he starts walking towards the people his car starts up by itself since everyone thought someone on maple street was a alien they all started blaming Les Goodman for everything that had happen. The plot is realistic in “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street”because power goes off in real life,people do blame other people,and phones can stop working or go dead.
In the story "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street" Many things happen that cause a strange effect the story. First, the people living on Maple Street see a mysterious object fly across the sky the people are found jumping to conclusions that the object was just a meteor. Afterward, when two characters named Steve and Charlie want to leave town A kid named Tommy says, " They don't want you to." When he says this he means that the monsters behind the issue in town don't want him to leave. Of course at first, the people of the town appear to be fully scared, but they really are not calm what so ever. While in, The Andy Griffith Show, a random guy shows up that knows everything in Maybury. The end of Monsters is fighting. The end of The Andy Griffith is calm and nice.

What most people did not see in that time was how the other half lived. In order for industries to accumulate their wealth, immigrants worked for little pay and lived in rundown, unsafe houses. Women were treated as inferior beings.
People murdered others without a second thought. The plot is realistic in “The monsters Are Due on Maple Street” because, kids believe crazy things like aliens, scary and angry people can turn into mobs, and when the blame is on people they find a scapegoat. They were all acting like kids and someone got hurt and they didn’t know what to do when they found out that it was a person and not an alien.
