Every episode ends with a shocking, unexpected twist. “The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street” is an episode that informs society about the fear of prejudice and hysteria. In this episode, a loud shadow in the sky passes through Maple Street. The shadow is actually a meteor. Unexpected and strange things start to happen like the electricity and cars turning off. The people who live on Maple become very curious on what the meteor has done to the neighbors living on the street. At this point we think that something is suspicious , because only Steve has power the only one on the street who had power. The people on Maple Street think that Les Goodman has something to do with the power outage. Charlie kills Pete Van Horn because he thinks that he is an alien. In conclusion, fear of the unrecognized may change people to suspect and turn on one another. Because the power went out and Tommy’s alien theory, there was a lot of confusion of aliens that were attacking. During the power outage, there was a suspect of terrorists because Philips theory. Different people who show idiosyncrasy were used as a scapegoat. Without information about others, people in strange situations tend to turn on each other. “ Click.” The power goes off on maple street. Midday the power suddenly goes off after a meteor looking thing flies over. As the power goes off on maple street everyone comes outside to see what happened. Nothing was working there were no cars,phones,radios,and no lights working. Les Goodman tries to start his car but it doesn’t work so he starts walking towards the people his car starts up by itself since everyone thought someone on maple street was a alien they all started blaming Les Goodman for everything that had happen. The plot is realistic in “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street”because power goes off in real life,people do blame other people,and phones can stop working or go dead.

In the story "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street" Many things happen that cause a strange effect the story. First, the people living on Maple Street see a mysterious object fly across the sky the people are found jumping to conclusions that the object was just a meteor. Then the power goes out, but it's not just the power going off it's everything. Every little thing from a radio to the cars not working. Afterward, when two characters named Steve and Charlie want to leave town A kid named Tommy says, " They don't want you to." When he says this he means that the monsters behind the issue in town don't want him to leave. Of course at first, the people of the town appear to be fully scared, but they really are not calm what so ever. Many strange things happen after that, such as cars starting lights turning on in people's houses and Charlie kills someone. The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street and The Andy Griffith Show, are also different. The reason for strange things happening in, The Monsters, is aliens. While in, The Andy Griffith Show, a random guy shows up that knows everything in Maybury. The end of Monsters is fighting. The end of The Andy Griffith is calm and nice.

During the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, the Gilded Age was in full effect in America. Cities were growing and industry was booming and profitable. What most people did not see in that time was how the other half lived. In order for industries to accumulate their wealth, immigrants worked for little pay and lived in rundown, unsafe houses. Women were treated as inferior beings.

People murdered others without a second thought. The plot is realistic in “The monsters Are Due on Maple Street” because, kids believe crazy things like aliens, scary and angry people can turn into mobs, and when the blame is on people they find a scapegoat. Furthermore, kids believing in aliens, is realistic. In the play Tommy convinces everybody that aliens caused the power outage.

Charlie Shot Pete. The Monsters are due on Maple Street is about a small neighborhood,one day the power went out on Maple Street. The cars and the phones stopped working. After what they thought was a meteor went by. Everyone believed a fourteen year old child and they thought it was an alien attack. They started blaming people and one person ended up getting shot and killed. They were all acting like kids and someone got hurt and they didn’t know what to do when they found out that it was a person and not an alien. The plot is not realistic in The Monsters are Due on Maple Street because Les Goodman’s car started when nobody was near it, all the phones on the street had no signal,and Charlie shot Pete
