When I was a child I 've always dreamt about going to outer space and explore the universe. Out of curiosity I became obsessed with space because there were many creative science fiction movies where it shows how space should be like, but I have found myself asking the same question over and over again. Is it really possible to live on another planet? Few years later, many space expeditions occurrence was to send humans onto the moon. When the mission succeeded it was one of the greatest achievements of all time. That was when I came to believe that if we humans can set foot on the moon then we can accomplish many things in the world. During this year it is impossible for astronauts to set foot on other planets because of our current technology only allowing us a one way trip to the planet. That is why NASA is creating robots called the robonaut to take the astronauts place and use them to build sufficient green houses in certain areas of the planets in order for humans to survive there. One day in the afternoon me and my friends planned to all hang out and catch up on life in Orange County. While we were cruising around town we stumbled across a billboard advertising a new movie that just came out which is called the Interstellar. None of us had heard about it before. Being a space nerd such as me, I 've somehow convinced my friends to watch the movie while we were eating. As we bought our tickets, none of us expected much from this movie because it wasn 't really mention
We don’t know yet if there is another planet capable of sustaining life as we know it but then again, we might not know what are the harshest conditions life can subsist.
But what about a planet more than 200 times farther away. If we can colonize on Mars the whole world will believe that anything's possible. People will never give up and keep trying to reach their goals. Although people on Earth may be mad that scientist used 6 billion dollars, but it went to good use. It was used to giving hope and making people believe. Now we should go reach our dreams by going to Mars.
The concept of space exploration was first introduced to the American public in 1961 when President John F. Kennedy famously stood before congress and vowed that America would put a man on the moon “within the decade.” With hopes of defeating the Soviet Union in the “Space Race” and gaining a leg-up in the Cold War, NASA funding reached its all-time high in 1965-1966 when about four percent of the federal budget was devoted to exploring space. Since then however, funding dedicated to exploring space has nose-dived to about one-half of a percent of the federal budget (Tyson), with plans to cut that figure by an additional $260 million in 2017 (cite NASA funding cuts). Experts in the space-sciences field argue that increased funding in space exploration would re-ignite the American economy and return America to the scientific prominence it was once known for, while, on the other end of the spectrum, naysayers suggest that exploring space is an economic sink-hole that the United States can no longer afford to deposit to given its own earth-bound troubles.
Ideas such as colonizing another planet is not unheard of and if humans do not consider the possible impacts in a new environment, this can be detrimental. The article “A NASA-Funded engineer's plan to colonize Mars” from CNN was written by Kate Springer in 2017. One statement that made was, “I believe building in space is going to become commonplace in less than 50 years. There's an abundance of energy and materials (in space) -- all we have to do is design self-replicating factories and build a lot of objects. In a short time, our capability to manufacture in space will be many
Do you really think that you can live in outer space? Me Da’quan Pittman, is sure that people should not go into outer space. People should not want to go to outer space god put us hear to live our life on this planet.
In the article, “Could Humans Actually Live on Mars?”, by Laurie Vazquez, scientists and experts are finding new ways to transport humans from Earth to Mars. Up until this point, people have only sent robots to Mars. Since humans have never personally been there, this could be a great event in history. Although there are many concerns regarding health and cost, people should start traveling to Mars to see if it is a suitable living space for humans. If real people could live on Mars, that would give the whole world the chance to keep living even after the planet dies.
The space race was the event the began the interest in space exploration. It all started in 1957 during the Cold War, when there was tension between America and the Soviet Union. There was also new technology from the war. According to Murray (Date unknown) “Many people believed the nation that controlled the skies could win any war.”(para. 5). So when the Soviet Union decided to launch the first artificial satellite, Sputnik, into orbit America was not happy.
While society may view graffiti as a negative aspect in communities even if it isn’t harmful, it also receives praise from many people. In “The Making of Space, Race, and Place” Dickinson stated that “Graffiti writers would be referred to as vandals, thugs, and criminals in the mass media, and their own voices would be largely shut out” (29). This is not completely true because even though graffiti writers are considered “vandals” and “criminals”, people are still treating them as people they can invest in. Graffiti writers are actually being acknowledged and paid to write. For example, “High profile graffiti writers and crews form relationships with spray paint companies through ad hoc and more enduring paint contracts, can be sponsored to attend invitational events and are often the subject of articles in the graffiti magazines that have grown with the subculture” (McAuliffe and
A narrative film is a fictional movie that tells a story with characters, places, and events. Stories in narrative films may be wholly imaginary or based on true occurrences, and they may be realistic, unrealistic, or both. Interstellar perfectly fits this description due to its futuristic and sci-fi nature. A major element in a narrative film are characters or any beings who play functional roles within the plot. Characters may be flat or round; minor or major; protagonists or antagonists. The protagonist in this movie is the role of Cooper played by Matthew McConaughey. Cooper is a round character or a complex character possessing numerous, subtle, repressed, or contradictory traits. Round characters are also known to develop over the course of a story. Cooper is three dimensional and quite unpredictable. One moment he is the loving father devoted to his children and in the next he is the forgotten astronaut still waiting for his moment to
The whole purpose of getting an education is for students to understand and comprehend enough knowledge for them to be able to earn a living and be a productive member of society. When there are gaps in learning, knowledge bridges help close that gap. As an example, we as teachers have benchmarks and standards that we must attempt to have each student meet or exceed. Sometimes there is a gap between what students know and understand and what they should know and understand. Buehl (2011) quotes Moje (2004) who states “building bridges is a necessary part of what makes third space because it help learners see connections” (p.90). It is easy for me to have many learning bridges because just about everyone has had at some time of dental experiences.
O’Connor complained that stories written by Southerners had been influenced by Television. She stated that Southern identity is no cliché. The difference that French Marxist cultural critic, Henri Lefebvre makes between absolute and abstract spatiality’s is one that clarifies the conflicts in “A Good Man is Hard to Find”. He said that these spaces are categorized by their relationship (Link 125). One may say that through the eyes of Lefebvre, one can see the spaces of " A Good Man Is Hard to Find” in a way that relinquishes, diminishing them to the basic constraint of sanctified, regular spaces of beauty, from one viewpoint, and mischievous spaces of current capital on the other. The capacity of this nonexistent structure to uncover the subtle elements of O'Connor's spatial talk, and to do as such with regards to the abstracting energy of capital, makes it a profitable supplement to exchanges of her utilization of space. The short story stated that absolute space is made up on Christian “fragments of nature” (Link 126) existing outside of capitalist relations. Link stated that absolute space is ruled by natural methods such as traditional agrarianism and cultural revealing frameworks grounded in religious acceptance. Link specified that Absolute space isn’t greater than abstract space.
General Relativity is a two part theory created by the German physicist, Albert Einstein. The two sections of relativity is special relativity and general relativity. Special relativity focuses more on lines, constant-velocity motion on the mass of objects, the passage throughout time, and that passing the speed of light is impossible. General relativity deals with accelerated motion, gravitational fields on mass, size, and time. General relativity also states that matter and space effect each other and that the universe ends and there may be more universes out there. Relativity also includes space-time. Many people think that space and time are completely different variables, but physicists often combine them into “space-time”. Space-time is a four-dimensional coordinate system used in relativity and other areas of physics. The dimensions are, length, width, height, and the 4th is the time dimension.
World renowned physicist Stephen Hawking believes that in order for the human race to survive, it must look to space for a new place to live [1]. He believes that the earth is too fragile to rely on and that if humans limit themselves solely to this one planet, the future existence of humanity may be in jeopardy. Many scientists, such as NASA Administrator Michael Griffin,
“Interstellar” (Obst,Thomas & Nolan, 2014) a great science fiction story with so various elements. It takes us traveling through wormholes, into planets in other galaxies, and black holes. The characters keep colliding into the effects of relativity, which is thoroughly explained in numerous scenarios. It’s also a story about love and family, but there is a villain, whose actions result in shocking consequences for the other characters. There is a great deal of emotion expressed by the character, which make a great impacted on how the movie is viewed. The movie will take place sometime in the future where the earth is slowly becoming uninhabitable for the reason that of a global crop plague and a second dust bowl occurring. The science fiction movie “Interstellar” (Obst,Thomas & Nolan, 2014) does an excellent job portraying advancements in technology, astrophysics and real-life issues that could eventually happen, such as, food scarcity and catastrophic natural disasters.
As a long-standing member of the COPOUS, the European Space Agency (ESA), and various intergovernmental space organizations, the Republic of Austria applauds the significant advancements of space technologies, yet remains deeply concerned about the long-term sustainability of space in relation to the growth of human activities at such exponential rates. Of equally as great importance as the threat of terrorist attacks, the happenings in outer space must be controlled while keeping in mind the provisions for the future, especially in forms of space exploration. Such continuous pursuits of the different nations are aiding the increase in space debris, radio interference, and space
