This analysis will offer an overview of the strategic plan for 2011-2015 for the nonprofit organization, World Vision UK. We will examine the content and organization of the document touching on the pages containing the organization’s history and objectives, then further delving into their vision, mission, goals and priorities. There is a section in this document entitled, “What We Do” and another entitled, “Who We Are.” These sections go further into detail about the work that World Vision UK does and how it came to be. The categories on the “What We Do” page are long-term development, advocacy, and humanitarian relief. Each category is described to give an overview of what the organization actually does through each of these areas. The categories on the “Who We Are” page cover their commitment to children, their global partnership, and their Christian calling. I believe these two pages are important for two reasons. One, it serves as a point of reference for those familiar with or within the organization when examining their vision, mission, goals and priorities. Two, it offers a brief but informative overview for people who may be reading the document that are unfamiliar with the organization or unclear of what they do. World Vision UK states that its vision is, “… for every child, life in all its fullness. Our prayer for every heart, the will to make it so.” This vision is somewhat ambiguous when taken out of context but when read in conjunction with the goals and

The true mission of Long Hopes is to save and house donkeys and to put them up for adoption . Donkeys deserve a caring home as much as any animal in a Humane Society does. Many donkeys live in filthy conditions with abusive owners. The people of Long Hopes decided to step in and save abused donkeys. Long Hope’s ambition for these equestrian animals has won them the award from GreatNonProfits for the greatest non-profit of the year 2015. Their website provides a plethora of information ranging from daily news letters, to hoof care. LongHopes deserves a positive review because of pleasing visuals, the plethora of information, a through adoption process, and easy sponsor system.

As a mentor at The Writers’ Exchange, I provide individualized learning and structure to several very challenged and impoverished kids. The focus is on homework, literacy projects and field trips designed to incite creativity, communication skills, self-esteem and accomplishment. We collect used soccer jerseys and redistribute them in team sets to underprivileged kids worldwide. World Vision International operates as a federation of interdependent national offices, each overseen by their own boards or advisory councils. Each office and its members have created a common mission statement. Through an ongoing system of peer review, each national partner is held accountable and abides by common policies and standards. The partnership offices coordinate operations of the organization and represent World Vision in the international arena. For making large scale decisions, the international organization considers opinions from each national office, whether in the developed or developing world. An international board of directors oversees the World Vision partnership. The full board meets twice a year to appoint senior officers, approve strategic plans and budgets, and determine international policy.
