Wahe guruji ka khalsa

As a Sikh, I have read the teachings of the ten gurus, seen the peace that kirtan brings many, and seen how the many aspects of our religion inspires the sangat. All of these positive aspects come from one common source: Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
This holy book is composed of the innumerous teachings of our Gurus and moves, appeals, and inspires me and other Sikhs. It was made to lead and guide the sangat for the holy spirit of God that was passed from Guru Nanak Dev Ji to Guru Gobind Singh Ji rests in it now. Close to the end of his life, Guru Gobind Singh Ji declared that instead of another human possessing the spiritual and temporal guru, the Guru Granth Sahib would serve as the spiritual guru …show more content…

But this also doesn’t mean that we should do what we want and go down a bad path simply because God probably wrote it that way. It is our duty to understand the Divine Order and customs of our culture and religion. It is our duty to live life with as much compassion and love as possible. [quote from page 31]

The Granth Sahib also has the ability of moving and inspiring people to make a difference. [line from 47] It sends a strong message against injustice and inequality. Against the people who abuse their power. Against the people who focus on their wealth than how benevolent they are. This message has the power to inspire people to take a stand and try to make a difference. We can also be taught how to deal with injustice and violence in the world because there is not lack of that, no matter the time period. We are taught to take the bearable with peace but also take a stand when the innocent are killed. Gurbani can offer some light and hope when the candles have been snuffed out by the dark evil that resides in some souls. Faith in Waheguru can result in miracles because He always has a plan for you. You may be the one extra person they need to win the war or that one person who needed to die to motivate the others. You always have a purpose. Gurbani teaches us to be brave and fearless for the time to raise the sword when all other peaceful efforts have failed. Fighting for the common good is the only thing that makes sense.
