Narrated by the one responsible for the murder, the story follows the chronological order of how the events played out. This allows the reader to see how the plot unfolds. This also allows the speaker to leave certain aspects out so as to add to the suspense and fear.
Madness as a trope in “The Tell Tale Heart” Madness is an important main idea of the story because the narrator’s point of view is influenced by his madness. It also an important because even though he tells us he isn’t mad, he kills someone! As if killing someone isn’t mad enough, he killed the old man because he didn’t like the man’s eye. Poe’s uses point of view to demonstrate the main idea of madness. While the narrator was in the old man’s room, he could tell that the man was terrified. The old man was terrified because he was worried someone was there to kill him. “I knew what the old man felt, and pitied him although I chuckled at heart.” This relates to the central idea of madness because only a mad person would chuckle at someone’s fear, right before the kill them.

In his first appearance we find Mr.Otis gearing the sound of footsteps and the clank of metal .But again here we find Mr Otis offering the tammany rising sun lubricator to the ghost . the hollow groans and the ghastly green that the ghost used while running through the corridor also gives the ghost as touch of the usual ghosty appearance .second when Otis family stood in the secret room behind the panelling they found sir simon’s gaunt skeleton chained to a huge iron ring imbedded in th well.The position of his skeleton told them that he had died out of thirst as his fleshless fingers were seen trying to grasp an old fashioned trencher and ewer that were placed out of his reach.
