This shows us that the kids love the room so much that they would kill their family to keep it going even if it was better for them if it was off we can see this even more when they say “a cup of tea” to the therapist this shows that they have little to no feelings about the deaths

Technology is both a miracle and a disaster in society today. New improvements have allowed children to be safer physically now more than ever, allowing parents to know where they are 24/7. However, studies have been shown that their mental state is in decline the addiction to devices is driving a separation between teens and their friends, forcing them into a deep depression, subsequently provoking a rise in self-harm rates. Ray Bradbury’s novel, Fahrenheit 451 written in 1953, gives us a glimpse into the future in order to display the screen-obsessed and censorship - filled society in which the main character, Montag lives. Bradbury was able to predict technological advancements and their destructive effects on future civilization including screen addiction, loss of personal connections, and the depersonalization of war.

In today’s world, many people believe that technology’s sole purpose is to draw young people away from the real world and reality. Just because you do not realize it, it does not mean it is not happening. If you think back to when you were younger, was technology the same as today? However, technology is forever changing and improving. It affects everyone, not just the young group of people. Technology changes our brains, souls, and our very being. Once technology sucks you into the whole of its essence, you will have a hard time changing your life style.

“The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury deals with some of the same fundamental problems that we are now encountering in this modern day and age, such as the breakdown of family relationships due to technology. Ray Bradbury is an American writer who lived from 1920 to 2012 (Paradowski). Written in 1950, “The Veldt” is even more relevant to today than it was then. This is what happens in the book “The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury is about the family and their kids have this room that is called the nursery. In the nursery the point is to travel where ever you want but you stay in the house you just see what is looks like. Their kids Wendy and Peter don 't use it for that reason. They only go to one place and one place only and that is Africa. One thing that happens in this book is that the kids are too obsessed with technology like the nursery which is to learn about other places and what they they look like and what it feels like, but that’s not what they do and things are getting out of control with them always visiting Africa.

As time goes on our technology is advancing and slowly starting to control how humans are acting and taking over jobs, human interactions, and how people use their time. In the novel readers see how Bradbury uses technology to show how it takes over people and how they think or feel about themselves and others. Ebooks, social media networks, automatic cleaning tools, and robots are just a few items that have been created to make life a lot simpler and less work for humans. Today in society people choose not to use critical thinking but instead are using technology to replace what they're supposed to do for themselves. People are using technology to replace books and everything else they're doing.

Through the story, they hear eerily familiar screams coming from the Nursery. While there is still tons of tone, there is many other kinds of Author’s Craft in the story. For instance, there is metaphors of how technology can take over your life and vivid imagery. Each detail is made in a creepy way, designed to bring chills up your spine. Every dialogue has a worried tone, from the parents fearful for their lives and children, to the ending words of the story. The story is absolutely saturated with tone.

He graduated from Los Angeles High School in 1938 but he did not attend college. However, he thinks libraries are much more important than colleges and universities.

The lions represent the parents in The Veldt. This is because the lions, and the parents, were doing what they wanted, until they realized that something else should have been done. The sun represents the strictness of the parents. The hotter the sun gets, the more strict the parents become. Symbolism plays a major part in the story.

Personally, I could not live without technology. I use it for almost everything I do. Some examples of technology in my life are cars, desktops, and of course, my phone. I use my phone a lot, some might use words like “religiously” or “addictively”. These people are not wrong, but there are reasons. My phone keeps notes, sets reminders, and lets people tell me that I am late for something. I use it for Boy Scouts, marching band, school, and recreational use. It has helped shape me, admittedly, into a bit of a procrastinator, however, it has also helped to keep me punctual and efficient. On the flip side, my phone can make me a bit anti-social. It lets me ignore conversations I should pay attention to, snooze alarms I should wake up to, and cheat on things I should.
