Even before Donald Trump became president, the idea of a wall at the border of Mexico and the United States caught the attention of the American public. Throughout Trumps presidential race the topic of the wall was the clear solution to immigrations problems in American. The wall, would keep away the immigrants that are currently “harming” our countries economy and culture. When Donald Trump made this statement, he directly made them against the Mexican community of America and of Mexico. He sparked a lot of tension between his believes on immigration and the Hispanic community. With the racist remarks Donald Trump said during his presidential race, the Hispanic community felt betrayed that a racist man has taken office at the White House. …show more content…
The problem with that is, his second term is not guaranteed which makes it reasonable to say that we will end up with a half-built wall and the most up to that point will be wasted. The American public must realize the fact that building a wall that is going to be about 2000 miles long, is not going be complete in an instant all by itself. So much time will be put in prior to building the wall and the President has not public stated the plans that will lead to commencement of the “Trump Wall”. There are men that will be working in the desert, in hard to work terrain, and most importantly those same men will be put in danger.
A project of this magnitude will take a significant amount of time and a huge work force that can build a wall. To make it clearer on how big a of a work force will be needed for this project the border of the two countries is mostly located in desert terrain. The wall will extend 2000 miles at a height between 30 to 60 feet high. There are no workers just waiting at the border for the wall to start the construction process. There are no roads that workers can wake up and drive every day to work from home. The border area is isolated from civilization for a reason. People don’t want to leave in the harsh environment and they don’t want to be in harm’s way of anything that his crossing the border. This is the part of the plan I was discussing early; the government will have to build homes for all the
Last year when Donald Trump became President of the United States he wanted to build a wall that would seperate the U.S. from Mexico. He wanted to do this to stop any illegal drugs, terrorists, or weapons from crossing the border. Athough it was a good idea, many people were
All through America's history it always had a presidential election every four years, and last years presidential election campaign there were two leading candidates, so to ensure their victory, they both made promises significant changes, creation. All through last year's campaign, a candidate named Donald J. Trump made several promises, and one of his promises could change the way of life in American. Mr.Trump won last years presidential election, and all eyes were on him to the promise vowed to do if and when he is president. That one promise which is opposed by six in ten Americans is that President Trump promised a 'big, beautiful wall' that would be placed on the Mexican and American border. President Trump Proposed that he could construct the wall for 8 billion, but now it is known that wall will cost about $21.6 billion for the wall and that the $21.6 plan doesn't include the $150 million a year to maintain. America shouldn’t Build a Wall along the US/Mexico Border because of the high cost and how it will affect America's economy, also thought the wall would keep out undocumented immigrant from crossing the US border but it is shown that undocumented immigrants contribute over $11 billion to the US economy each year, and lastly the environment that is near the border, and how it will be affected and disturbed due to the construction the border wall.
The 45th president of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump, is a political man who has many ideas to improve the U.S. One of the many idea he had included building a wall between the borders of the United States and Mexico for the “purpose of controlling immigration into America”. According to Trump this wall is supposed to help our country with its national security. In reality though, many people believe that the wall is showing Trumps true colors. Many people are contemplating on the fact if Trump is a racist person who is building the wall because it provides a method of targeting and preventing those who are trying to cross the Mexican-American Border. In reality, Trump only cares about trying to make “America Great Again”, and
There is talk on what the cost would be, along with whether or not it could actually be done. Although Trump states the wall would only cost about $8 billion to $12 billion, officials and engineers state that the cost is far above that, potentially reaching $25 billion. However, Trump state this because he believes that he will only have to build a wall that is 1000 miles long since we have a lot of natural barriers by the border (Kessler 1). However, the cost is not the only question that has arisen on the media. The actual possibility on whether or not the wall could be built has arisen too. So, because of the high cost, and Mexico already stating that they will not pay for the barrier, people are stating that the wall cannot be built because we do not have that type of money laying around. However, if Mexico were to end up paying for the wall, it could very well be possible that the wall be built (Rhiannon
The Department of Homeland Security “dhs” were set to build a total of 370 miles but only completed a 300 mile section by the end of december 2008. The biggest problem that hey rain in too was that they couldn't get all the land that they needed to finish the fence. They reserved the right to build the fence on April 1, 2008. There is still a number of miles that has no wall or fence (vitiello). The wall caused an estimated 4 billion annually to keep the wall maintained. There will also be a cost to pay people to
Trump doesn't want any immigrants in the United States. The reason why Trumps wants to build the wall is that he wants to keep all the criminals, drugs, gang, and violence out according to Fox News. The budget plan for border security is $23 billion and $18 billion for building the border. Also, the prototypes will be 30 feet tall and 30 feet wide and it will cost up to $500,000. In other words, he says
In 2014, the budget for the United States border patrol was upwards of $3.5 billion according to the CBP. This country is already spending an absurd amount of money on border control. Despite all of this funding undocumented immigration still runs rampant. Let's face that facts Donald, increased border protection doesn't work. As Malcolm Galdwell would say, it follows the inverted-u logic. Put simply Border Patrol produces diminishing returns and may even increase undocumented immigration. All the "Mexican Great Wall" does is just further prove Trump's animosity towards hispanics.
Building this wall will be extremely expensive for the US. The wall is estimated to range as high as $14 billion. The US could be spending this money on better things. Hurricane Harvey alone is estimated to cost the US and its citizens up to $40 billion. The combination of lost homes and businesses adds up quick. Building this wall would be a huge waste of money, the government should be focusing on aiding those already living in the country as opposed to keeping others out.
The treaties between the United States and Mexico that prohibit the blockage of rivers across the border would be roadblocks in President’s Trump’s plan (Aguilera). Another one would be the Native American reservations along the borders. It would be a waste of time for the government to have the wall built only to have gaps within the wall due to restrictions. Trump would be able to get around these restrictions by convincing Congress to pass a bill that would take the land away from the Native Americans, but that would only start chaos. Most of the land currently without a border fence cannot withstand the construction of a wall because of the geography by which it is surrounded. Due to this, there will be gaps within the wall through which immigrants would be able to enter.
"I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great great wall on our southern border and I’ll have Mexico pay for that wall" ~ Donald J. Trump. Many remember Trump’s campaign promise of building a wall on the US-Mexico border, but what Mr. Trump neglected to notice was the many aspects that come into play when making such a dramatic decision. The idea behind the wall is to keep out illegal immigrants and cut down the amount of crime in the United States. It is easy to see why President Trump thinks the wall will benefit the country. Most of the drugs that come into the US are from Mexico, and the towns surrounding the border are some of the most crime-ridden in both the United States and Mexico. However, the wall impacts more than just the lives of
Did you know that it will cost billions to finish the border wall between U.S and Mexico? Do you know where is Trump is going to get billions from ? Tax payers. Congress has no idea where to get the money to fund the building of the border wall between the U.S and Mexico. The fence will not stop immigrants from coming into the country at all, there are ways that people from Mexico can enter the U.S legally. The border wall is too expensive and impractical for us to continue building to complete it, it’s going to take 4 years for the border wall to completely finish covering the remaining 1,250 miles. A border wall won’t solve any terrorist problem that we as a country have. We shouldn’t continuing the building of the U.S- Mexico border because it just a waste of time and money because it will take 4 years for the border wall to be completely finish the border and maybe after the wall is finish, May not Trump won’t be president The border wall won’t help the crime rate go down in the U.S.
In previous years, many countries and territories around the world have attempted to build walls, and many have had very much success. For example, Most of the walls built after World War 2 and the Cold War still exist today. There were a total of 110 walls built between that time period. Professor Nazli Avdan led a study that had a goal of identifying if a border wall reduced or increased the risk of a transnational terrorist attack. This study found that since the year 1900, transnational terrorist attacks have seen a thirteen percent annual decrease in countries with border walls (Border fences reduce...attacks). This has been a real focal point that President Donald Trump has used to get people to agree with him. Another reason of his includes the disrupting of the funneling of illicit money and drugs into the United States of America (Border fences reduce...attacks). The bonus of the building of the wall is that it will be a visible sign of the government taking action.
The 2016 presidential election has created much controversy as both parties were viciously attacking each other throughout the campaign season; one of the initiatives that the Republican Party was the wanting to pursue was the building of a wall that will border the United States and Mexico. Although the source of this money is unaware, Trump’s plan is make the country of Mexico to pay for it as it stretches nearly two thousands miles long and has a great expense (Drew).
Aren't you sick and tired of illegals coming from all directions and stealing American jobs? One of Donald Trump’s main policies through the three course of his Presidential campaign was his intention to build a wall along the U.S.- Mexico border. There was a huge outcry from the political left, and now that he has been elected President, the outrage has only intensified. President Trump needs to build a wall to secure jobs for legal American citizens, drop the crime rate, and stop drug cartels from entering this country.
Similar to Trump plan on creating his wall, “[The] US-Mexican border which is one of the most controversial campaign promises”( BBC News). This wall caused a major uproar on citizens on both countries leading to protest, school boycotts and, was the center of media
