George Washington was the first president of the United States on February 4, 1789. He was born on February 22, 1732 in rural Virginia. What made him a great leader was how he knew what he had to do as the president. If he didn’t become president then there wouldn’t be a new Constitution. He was the commander and chief of the American and French forces in American Revolution.

In 1789 George Washington was elected as the First President of the United States of America under the Constitution. In the following years after George Washington's administration was John Adams and succeeding him was the Third President of the United States Thomas Jefferson. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson's' administrations contributed to establishing a stable government after the adoption of the Constitution. They strengthened the national government by passing important legislature, peaceful international affairs and economic plans.

George Washington became President in 1789 and since then has been regarded as America’s “Founding Father”(10). This grand and hero-like status is said to have “began gravitating to Washington six months before the Declaration of Independence, when one Levi Allen addressed him in a letter as ‘our political Father.’”(10). The preservation of Washington’s role as a national hero has been allowed by authors and the media omitting his many flaws as if they had either been forgotten or were no longer important. Yet by excluding these human faults, they have projected an almost god-like hero and inflicted him upon the nation as their Father, somebody whose “life still has the power to inspire anyone”(10).

There have been forty four presidents in the United States of America. Of them, President George Washington and President John Adams were the first two. They are widely considered as honored men who set a pace in history for what America is today. Although both are founding fathers of America, they were quite different in their life and in politics.

So as a result of the powers of the Executive branch, it lead to the Election of 1788 and 1792 where the Commander-in-chief- was elected unanimously by the Electoral College in both elections. Since the President felt uneducated, he created Presidential Cabinet to help surround himself with expert advisors. Just yesterday we gained a new president and his name is George Washington. The members of Congress, which has sixty-nine, elected Washington to be our first president. Of course he did not agree at first, and it did take a few months. The reason the members of Congress were so eager to have him as president is because of his experience. Before Washington was president, he was a leader of the Continental Army and was chairman of the Continental Congress.
