Along with Holden, there are several characters in The Crucible who demonstrate how important choices are and how the theme of choices is inevitable in almost every story or play. In The Crucible, John Proctor ends his affair with Abigail Williams, which makes her very upset. Because of this, Abigail and her friends go to the woods and practice witchery, hoping that death will come to John's wife, Elizabeth.
