Theory Application of Rainbow Dash Rainbow Dash is a female Pegasus pony and one of the seven main characters in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She comes from a family whom is overly supportive of their daughter and inadvertently embarrass her often, causing them to have a delicate relationship. She maintains the weather and clears the skies in Ponyville, the series main setting. She represents the element of loyalty, one of the Elements of Harmony, the six supernatural artifacts which are arguably the most powerful forces in Equestria. She is a fighter, very loyal, cocky, brave, selfless, bold, eager, noble, impatient, supportive, heroic, competitive, tough, mischievous, snarky, fast, impulsive, athletic, a show-off, and at times boastful, arrogant, and brash (hero.wikia.com). Eyes (2016) explains Rainbow Dash as having a very high sense of self. Her loyalty is extreme although sadly it is a selfish thing. She is not loyal because she believes it's the right thing to do, she is loyal because she has an expectation of herself, but it is still a good moral code. Rainbow Dash possesses the element of loyalty. In one episode, the ponies encounter a broken rope bridge stretching across a canyon they must cross. Rainbow Dash volunteers to fly over and fix the other side of the bridge, but is met by a group of dark ponies who call themselves The Shadowbolts. They flatter Rainbow Dash and invite her to join them as their captain, but she must leave her friends behind. Rainbow
We have all read books about heroes and monsters and princesses in towers, one of these books that I have read is Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief. Many people like this book, and here are a couple reason why I loved reading this story. Including how the hero defeats the evil, and how he saves the world. A modern life high school boy who gets thrown into chaos.
The characters in my book are very interesting, there are 3 main characters. Percy, Grover, and Annabeth. Percy is the son of Poseidon who is a Greek God. A powerful God who rules over all the oceans and everything in them. Then there is Percy's best friend Grover, is a Satyr, that is someone who is half horse & half man. Annabeth is the daughter of Athena who is a Greek Goddess. There are other important characters as well in the story like Percy's mom, or the other Gods. Percys personality in the beginning of the book is best described as shyness or acts like he doesn't care, but over the book he expands out of that stage and becomes more outgoing and courageous. Grover is fearless, he has to be because he is Percys protector. But
Turtle is very smart, pretty, but also kind of bratty. She is very defensive about herself, and if she doesn’t get her way, you don’t want to know what happens to her. So you should try not to get on her bad side. But if you’re nice enough to her, she is pretty sweet. Turtle’s personality is very interesting and fun!! Turtle REALLY wants to win the Westing
Percy Jackson - Percy Jackson is the twelve-year-old protagonist of The Lightning Thief. He is the narrator and the hero of The Lightning Thief. At the beginning of the story, Percy's life perspective is pretty negative. Percy is a 12-year-old boy who has been expelled from every school he has attended in the past 6 years. Percy is dyslexic and has ADHD. A scene that best shows this is when he says, “I could start at any point in my short and miserable life to prove it.” When he begins telling his story, he's a bit grumpy, angry, or even depressed. Percy comes from a very humble background, meaning he is grateful for the simple joys in life. Percy never knew his dad. His mother eventually married a guy named Gabe Ugliano, Percy calls him Smelly Gabe. They live in a small apartment in Queens, NY, and Gabe enjoys making Percy's life and Percy's mom's life miserable.
“Sometimes the questions are complicated, and the answers are simple. – Dr. Seuss” (Bright Drop). Throughout life, Loyalties are tested, whether it be a friend or a loved one. When put to the test, some rise to the occasion while others fall flat and prove where their loyalties lie. At times, it is even asked of one to prove where their loyalties lie within themselves to prove one’s values. In many cases within the film, loyalties are
Early on, Pony thinks that Darry doesn’t cares very much about him and would do anything to keep them apart from each other. While walking back home after the movie that pony watched with Cherry Valance, she asked how Darry was compared to Soda. Pony answered, “Darry. . . what was Darry like? ‘He’s. . .’ I started to say he was a good ol’ guy but I couldn’t. I burst out bitterly: ‘He’s not like Sodapop at all and he sure ain’t like me. He’s hard as a rock and about as human. He got eyes exactly like frozen ice. He likes Soda -- but he can’t stand me. I bet he wishes he could stick me in a home somewhere, and he’d do it, too, if Soda’d let him.” (Hinton 42). This demonstrates Pony’s opinion because Pony see's Darry getting along with Soda, Pony believes Darry has the capacity for love, but he just doesn’t have it for Pony. Pony forms his initial opinion because he is very naive. When Darry pushes Pony to get very good grades, Pony believes it is because he wants to be controlling. Originally Pony believes that darry is a horrible guardian but later on in the book he sees the other side of Darry. After Darry and Pony finally got to see each other after Pony ran away, he saw Darry crying while giving him a hug,“Suddenly I realized, horrified, that darry was crying...In that second what Soda and Dally and Two-Bit had been trying to tell me came through. Darry did care about me. Darry did care about me, maybe as much as he cared about Soda, and because he cared he was trying too hard to make something of me.” (Hinton 98). While giving Darry that hug, Pony realized something he never thought would come from darry, Pony saw him crying. For the first time, Pony saw that Darry does everything that he possibly can to help Pony get a better future then what he experienced. Darry tries to give Pony what he missed out on and Pony finally realized is it. This change in opinion for Pony

Through the feministic values in this story and the classic heroic characteristics, Dorothy shows how a woman can be heroic. She shows her heroic characteristics by her kind heart, outspoken voice, and her unwavering and courageous strength.

The character in which I would compare myself to is Tessa, this being Tessa is a driven and motivated women. Tessa is always trying to find the positives in everything and always gives Harry hope, even though within the book is as portrayed as Harry’s ‘hero’ I believe in a way Harry was Tessa’s hero. An example of this is in chapter 32 when Tessa says “He’s been my hero, my tormenter at times, but mostly my hero.” Here she is finding the good within Harry and somehow brought her more happiness than she had perceived. Another example of this in chapter 40 “You always see the light in me, how is that possible when there isn’t any?” This is when Harry says this to Tessa when he is putting himself down but Tessa is trying to make him see the light.
For example, Dally is always seen as tough and insensitive throughout the book. Ponyboy gives a description of Dally, “he was cold and hard and mean” (90). Dally is the greaser with the worst criminal record. The first time Dally got put in jail was when he was 10, which shows a lot about his character. Conversely, Johnny is always seen as the kindest member of the gang.
I have learned, after reading this book, that loyalty is something you have to use when it comes to family. Have you ever heard the saying, “When you’re part of a team, you never leave a man behind”? Well it is used all the time in books, speeches, movies, and everyday life. Does anybody really take this phrase into consideration while living their life? In the book, The Island of Blue Dolphins, by Scott O’Dell the main character, Karana, is so loyal to her team (tribe), that she will never be able to leave a man behind. She is especially loyal when it comes to family, when her beloved brother, Ramo, is forgotten. On the island of Blue Dolphins, where the native tribe controls the island, a group of Poachers named the “Aleuts” come and hunt
Hannah remains a wonderful role model to her peers in all of her work ethic, kindheartedness, and her spiritual life. No one would be able to find one cruel bone in her body. Passionate about everything she does, she never gives up on anything. She is not swayed by the majority; she finds joy in being her own person. The following quote perfectly sums up Hannah’s outlook on life. “Do not compare yourself with others. It is our uniqueness that makes us who we are.” - Tina J.
