In June there was an accident involving the deaths of five teenage girls. The driver was believed to be texting when they crashed into a tractor-trailer. I believe there should be a serious law to keep both teen and adult drivers from driving while texting. If there are laws passed to prevent this, many people can be saved from having car accidents or near misses. I understand that everyone has different values and opinions, but you must know that losing your life is not worth the minimal pleasure of texting and driving. There are a variety of other activities that you could spend your treasured time doing. Every day more than ten teenagers lose their chance to enjoy their life to its full potential. Don’t make the mistake they do and decide to multitask and not give the road your full attention. Don’t get me wrong, risk does make life more interesting and fun. When the danger is losing your life, how can you enjoy the thrill of the risky situation? You can’t. Another big issue is overconfidence. 77% of young adults believe they can text and drive without getting in an accident and 55% believe it’s an easy task.
