The Gettysburg Battle was known as the bloodiest battle during the Civil War, as millions of lives were lost on both sides of the nation. In 1863 the Confederate and Union armies, both with 75,000 men, marched to face each other. General Robert E. Lee was the General who commanded the Confederate Army, and George Meade was appointed on June 27 as the new Union army general. The Laramie Project, written by Moisés Kaufman, is a compilation of interviews by The Tectonic Theater Project, news publications, and journal entries. After the brutal murder of Mathew Sheppard in 1998. Kaufman along with his theater troupe made six visits to Laramie, Wyoming, where the murder took place, to interview people about what happened and how they felt about the crime in their community. They interviewed about two hundred people, of which about sixty were included in the play. The play showcases a small town in America in a historical time of tragedy. The Civil War was a major point in American History. It has influenced everyone in America in many ways. The War was conducted in two main areas of the United States. These two parts were in the area east of the Mississippi River and in the area west of the Mississippi River. The control of both of these fronts was vital for victory by either the Union or the Confederacy. On March 8, 1862, a small skirmish at Pea Ridge, Arkansas led to the Union's domination of the west. The Battle of Pea Ridge had a great impact on the civil war by giving control of the west to the Federal forces (Battle).

The attack at Fort Mystic in May of 1637 is something that I will never forget. On that day, my tribe in Mystic fort was attacked by the colonists and their allies. At dawn, they approached undetected and fired at us while we were sleeping. They came in through both entrances into the fort and surrounded us. We were not prepared and had no chance to fight back from our attackers and were shot on site if we tried to leave. I was one of the few who were able to get out alive. I was captured as I made my way out of the village taken prisoner by the colonists and their allies. As I was being taken away, I saw my village being burned and knew that I would never be able to return. I also hoped that my people would not take this lightly and go after the colonists for what they have done.

Throughout the Revolutionary War, there were many battles that occurred that are not remembered today. The reasons for this are plentiful, examples include minor battles, unimportant skirmishes, or travesties of war. However, some battles are forgotten intentionally, like times whenever something embarrassing happened to a soldier, or to an entire side. This case of embarrassing defeat is exactly what happened at Fort Galphin or, as the British called it, Fort Dreadnought, in Beech Island, SC on May 21st, 1781.

Disease would run rampant killing many; the brutality would forever be engrained in their minds, and death.

Fort Sumter was a very important conflict in the civil war and without it they may have not gone to war without it. It was a federal fort located in SC and since it was union the Confederacy wanted full control of it . Lincoln knew there was going to be a war but he wanted the south to make the first fire. Theres is no secret that the blatant civil rights violations imposed on blacks in America through racial segregation laws served as an injustice to all American citizens in the mid-1900s. At the heart of the segregation battle was the obvious mistreatment, both physical and emotional, bestowed onto African Americans by their white counterparts, especially in the South. After decades of harsh mistreatment, African American leaders sought out to challenge, and ultimately change, the laws and legislation drafted by their government centuries before those men and women existed. Though peaceful protests were a common method of action blacks chose to partake in, many of these individuals were met commonly with acts of violence from angry southerners

Development of Fort Sumter was occurring when South Carolina withdrew from the Union on December 1860. At the time just two organizations of government troops watched the harbor.Robert Anderson instructed that these organizations were positioned at Fort Moultrie. Perceiving that Fort Moultrie was defenseless against an area attack, Anderson chose to surrender it for the all the more effectively faultless Fort Sumter on December 26, 1860. South Carolina volunteer army powers grabbed the city's different fortresses a short time later, leaving Fort Sumter as the solitary government station in Charleston. This was a big turning point for the United States of America. It separated the north from the south and in some cases it separated families. This war would impact how the United States saw slavery. It is the most deadly war that the United States has every seen in its history.
