Teen Drug Abuse Have you ever watched the news and heard about another group of students from “ghetto” or “low socio-economic” school, skip class to “spark it up”? The slang term “spark it up” means to a light a cigarette or marijuana “joint” according to the urban dictionary ("Spark+it+up." Urban Dictionary. Annie-Banannie, 2005. Web. 02 May 2016.). This saying is often used by teens that are using drugs, that are typically supposed to be prescribed by a certified health care specialist for certain medical use, such as depressants, stimulants, opioids and most commonly marijuana.
