The three key points of the Harlem Renaissance that were discussed after viewing what was given included: The New Deal, the jazz era, and racial pride.

The new deal was brought about by President Rosevelt. He felt it was his duty to save those in poverty. As he stated in his pledge to help the “forgotten man at the bottom of the economic pyramid” (New Deal). The New Deal brought about relief for Afro-Americans, they had more work and therefore more money. With more money they had more time to spend on entertainment, because they felt expressive in both their physical and spiritual needs. The effect of this event lead to the Jazz age.
