I’ve always aspired to be a teacher. Growing up I wasn’t the smartest kid, and honestly my teachers weren’t very much help with that. Truly, as a struggling student I felt that when I had a bad teacher, there was no chance for me. So ever since I was young, I wanted to grow up to be that change, I didn’t want any struggling student to feel like I did.

Halloween night truly was a house of horrors in Maycomb. It was a normal Halloween until Officer Heck Tate found Bob Ewell, Maycomb citizen and father to eight children, dead underneath the big oak tree.

Chapter nine of Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ begins with Scout fighting a classmate named Cecil Jacobs. It starts when Scout reflects what happens that day at school when she fought Cecil Jacobs at school and her cousin Francis later on. We also learn more information about the family of Atticus and his relatives. Lee’s style of writing is extremely coherent and uses imagery and figurative language in her writing. She uses these writing techniques to demonstrate human action and story development throughout ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’. She also uses metaphors as a literary device. Using these writing techniques, she gives the story a unique perspective as the plot develops.

In Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird we see an innocent man get locked away because of the color of his skin. We, the audience, see an innocent man be targeted because he was black. These horrific scenes could be chalked up to history, we could always say that as a nation America has learned from its mistakes, that as a nation we accept everyone so fully. If this was true, if To Kill a Mockingbird was just a story then I, as a Muslim American teenager, wouldn’t be so afraid to live in this world.

The Theme Of Courage “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are”(E.E Cummings). Courage is a crucial theme in Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Lee indicates that real courage is the ability to stand up for what one believes in even in fear. Although courage is misinterpreted by the narrator Jean Louise Finch (Scout) and her older brother Jeremy Finch (Jem) near the beginning of the novel, they soon come to understand what real courage really is.

Maycomb is a town filled with different people that belong to different castes. In their town, there are two main types of people,  people who are white, and people who are colored. All adults in their society have their opinion to how these people should be treated, in which more than half are racist towards the colored people. The protagonist of this story is a nine-year-old girl named Jean Louise Finch (Scout). She lives in a town called Maycomb, Alabama. It’s an uptight town, living through the great depression and is full of prejudice. Scouts world doesn’t change until her father, a lawyer and widower, Atticus Finch agrees to defend a black man, Tom Robinson, who has been accused of raping a white women.

There are many examples of courage in Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Courage is the ability to conquer fear. Did you know there were 6 types of courage? Yeah, crazy, right? There are many people who display courage in this novel but right now I am going to focus on the ones that I think are the top three. Before you read you should know what the types of courage when you see them.

You could describe how you feel when you found out that your mom friend was the criminal because we would be know how you felt seeing the man.
