Hi Peeps, Today's Quote "We need farmer's assurance from God to help us fight off the temptations of this world and use the latest technology to do God's Will, in obedience. The King
It seems that we have many kings and queens wanting their entitlement of land, subjects, bodyguards, servants, workers, business, and the likes. Evil people vote evil people into office to rule over them. What have we done, based on the quality of what we are getting from our government? Governing
Those that are in power are making deals, passing laws, and throwing bread crumbs at the poor and middle class, like holy water to the masses. The voice of the good people are not being heard. Fighting against each other is absurd. What do we do next, pray
Thursday’s Child, written by Sonya Hartnett, illustrates the hardships and struggles of an Australian family during the Great Depression. Set in the rural village of western Victoria after the First World War, the grips of famine, poverty and poor living conditions are having their greatest effect on this already underdeveloped society. The resilience and courage needed to even survive through these harsh conditions were scarcely found; however, one brave family managed to catch this beam of hope: the Flute family. The high demand of mental, physical and emotional stability to fight to live requires individuals who are strong willed and dedicated to achieve their goal, and without the family’s bravery and desire
Americans only see few ways to affect real change on government because politicians are too reliant upon large donations. Groups contribute money, and later on receive a kickback of bill that favors them or supports their positions. “Candidates who raise lots of money say it indicates broad support. Candidates with little money point out that voters, not donors, decide elections” (2012 Presidential). Candidates spend large amount of time fundraising, which decreases people’s confidence in the government’s ability to do their

After reading Freak the Mighty and participating in this lesson, I have learned a myriad of thoughts/ideas pertaining to friendship. These thoughts and ideas are much more different than they were before. For example, before, I used to think that a friend is someone who liked the same things as me and never disagreed with me. But now, I know that a friend is someone who will be honest with me, who will be there for me all of the time through thick and thin, and who will enjoy my company. This is far from what I accepted as the truth of friendship, and I owe it all to this course to expose me to the true meaning of friendship
There are many of us who are disillusioned by the American Political system, over the years we have become increasingly cynical, viewing politicians as extensions of Corporate America, the good OLE boys from the South and the Eastern Elite. For such politicians, politics itself was a life long destiny, full of ambition, finesse, and struggle for power, yet a severe lack
The Most Dangerous Game and High Noon are both thrilling tails of dominant men trading places with someone of equal strengths and power, or in other words, hunters becoming the hunted. Both main characters had to fight with someone who was equally as smart and powerful as they are. In the stories there is a great sense Both characters are trapped with no place to go, and are forced to fight. Although these stories are similar, they have different ways of being similar.
Within the past few years, the United States has become increasingly divided. Not only is this divide becoming more and more prevalent, but both legislators and civilians are also becoming more intractable. Many leaders in the Congress, in the Senate, and even in the White House are unwilling to work with leaders of different political parties simply because they do not want to seem as if they are faltering in their beliefs of their party’s ideals. Legislators choose to represent the interests of those who funded their campaign instead of lobbying for the best interest of their constituents. When lawmakers represent billionaires instead of average people, they become out of touch and the government becomes less “for the people by the people” and more “for the one percent by the one percent.”
“You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.”- Thích Nhat Hanh . This quote means that it doesn't matter what others think of you it’s just matters what you think of yourself. In the novel, The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton addresses the theme of accepting yourself for who you are, and not to let others change you. It is implied by S.E. Hinton that people should learn to embrace themselves for who they are and not to change if others don’t accept you or have prejudice towards you.
"It don't mean a thing if God is not the Good King in your life, do-wap, do-wap,
Did you notice how less confused you are with honest love, faith, and works, as God's path is quite direct and crystal clear?
‘Break of Day’ is a novel written by Tony Palmer. The story takes place during WW2 on the Kokoda track in Isurava, and looks at the struggles that are involved with family, bravery and death. Throughout this book, we follow the life story of Murray Barrett and some of the struggles he faces with his family, about believing whether or not he is a coward and the effect that death has had on him and the people around him. You can see many examples of family, bravery and death throughout the text and we will be exploring some of those. “If I told them about your father’s death, the fire and the farm.
It is our responsibility to bring American back to what our founding fathers envisioned. They were focused on creating a fair and just government. Today anyone who obtains power tries more than anything to grow and extend their power. We need to realize that people like that don't need power in the first place. They don't need to be given authority over the American people. Greedy people don´t need to have control over us.
The government in the United States supposedly revolves around American ideals such as equality and diversity; however, this is simply not the case as perpetuated by class inequalities. The meaning of democracy has been skewed in the United States to represent something entirely different than it did in 1776. Today, American democracy behaves more like an aristocracy, where the upper class exercises power within the government and state, influencing discourse and therefore the laws and resources in our country, which are purportedly “for the people”. Democracy is presumed to provide everyone with equal political power, but the government in today’s America, although seemingly following this ideal model, does not. Instead, the elite upper class has a monopoly over the political influence and are the sole benefactors from public policies due to their influence over the policy making process. The upper class has an overall benefit from class inequality, as it greatly impacts American ‘democracy’ through the significant power gained through money and status, leadership roles that impact government, and the influence in the policymaking process that creates upper class advantages.
We repeatedly and knowingly, elect the same bastard, corrupt, dishonest, disqualified and criminal ones; and expect from those, the welfare of society
Although our nation’s government relies on the fundamentals of liberal democracy, it still has many flaws. Articles written by Francis Fukuyama share a clear message suggesting that America’s political institutions are decaying and its flaws will not be fixed unless we have good leadership within the government that yields good policies. It is still not too late to make reformations in the system. Today, US citizens share a distrust for the inner workings of our government, and through the years, there are many things that must change. Although our government is able to withstand failures right now, it may cause an expansion of problems that will cost us indefinitely. The existence of interest groups has caused an exponential increase in the elite control of the system, thus creating people’s lack of trust for the government.
