Trang Nguyen is a 44 year old tailor, barber, nail painter, and is a mom. She was born in Vietnam, Bà Rịa. Mrs. Nguyen grew up wanting to tailor, or tailor teacher. She moved to California, with Mr. Tran, my dad, to live with my grandma and grandpa, who first moved to California.. She went to Evergreen Valley college, and has been sewing clothes since, well I’m not sure, probably since I was born. Her friend offered her a job, to help her sew clothes. They were pretty close friends. She would work there in her house, and my brother and I would also be there, but getting ‘babysitted” by my mom’s boss. Later, in 2016 or so, another of my mom’s friends offered her jobs. She accepted, now she paints nails and cuts hair. She still sews clothes,

Andrew Chan was born on the 12th January 1984, in Enfield, South-West Sydney. Chan was the youngest of the four children, with an elder brother; Michael and two older sisters. His parents; Ken and Helen are both first generation migrants from China, who both spoke Cantonese, his father being able to speak English, however his mother had limited English skills. As Chan was unable to speak Cantonese, he often struggled to communicate with his mother therefore his brother often translated for them, when necessary. Like Sukumaran, Chan attended Homebush Boys High School.
Ty Hafan provides a lot of support to children with disabilities, one form of support is physiotherapy, a physiotherapist visits the hospice Monday to Friday, this helps children and young people with their general stretches and movements, it also gives parents and carers advice on positioning and movements. The hospice also offers hydrotherapy sessions to children and their family, this takes place in an accessible pool area for all. Hydrotherapy sessions can be beneficial to the children because it will enable them to feel free and can also relieve pain, it can also benefit the parents or carers as it is precious time spent together allowing close skin to skin contact. In 2014 Joshua Wong was all over the news about his student-led protest During this time Joshua Wong also had some struggles. Someone attempted to assault him at an airport, police set up roadblocks for his safety, hunger strikes were led by him. All of this for one teenage activist trying to support his rights for democracy.
Dr. Chien-Shiung Wu was a Chinese American experimental physicist born on May 31, 1912 in Liu Ho, China. Going up in China, there was a lot of pressure on her for doing well in school and her parents because they were teachers and engineers, they encouraged her to more science and mathematics so they could teach her more. She went to elementary school that her dad founded and when she was old enough, her parents decided to send her to boarding school where she could get a higher education in Suzhou where she graduated top of her class in 1930. Wu later went to the prestigious National Central University of Nanking in 1936, and after graduation, she went to the U.S to continue her graduate studies.
I am Caucasian and my best friend is Asian. Jimmy Fong was born in Guangzhou, China, before he moved to America. I met Jimmy shortly after he moved into my neighborhood, along with his parents and his four grandparents. His English was far from perfect as a result of Chinese being the primary language in his home. I took it upon myself to assist in his acclimation to life in Pennsylvania. I spent time with him going over words that he did not know and teaching him the ways of American culture. Many other students were less accepting of Jimmy and wouldn’t be his friend because of the way he looked and talked. I have always stood by his side and helped him deal with the bullies. The Gui was created during the Zhou Dynasty. It is a ritual vessel that most of the time contained grain. The Gui was more used by the Western Zhou Dynasty than the Eastern. During this dynasty they believe a lot in the link between heaven and earth. The Zhou also had a great respect for their ancestors. It was actually everything for the Zhou Dynasty. The families offered food to the dead using the Gui while the government officials offered food to the gods. What the Gui does is addresses the world of the dead but emphases authority in the world of the living. Anchee Min’s childhood was very hard. Anchee was born in Shanghai 1957. She had three siblings and as she stated “I was an adult from the age of 5.” she was very mature for her age.
